Academy Of Cricket Description
The Academy of Cricket (AoC) provides cricket coaching throughout the close winter season both to senior players and to young colts in all age groups under 9 through to under 17 year olds (i. e. those in school years 4 to 12).
The Academy was founded in 2009 to give young cricketers in Ickenham and the surrounding areas an opportunity to continue with their cricket training over the winter months. Our ECB registered coaches have over 40 years combined coaching and mentoring experience and are fully qualified to ECB Levels 2 and 3. In addition to coaching at club level, our lead coach, Gordon Summerfield, is also involved with coaching at borough and county levels. Gordon was voted Middlesex Coach of the Year in 2013 by his peers.
The Academy offers first-rate coaching for those who aspire to accelerate their pursuit of cricketing excellence. AoC run courses from September to April in small groups of not more then 16 colts per session. We also offer courses for Seniors, both mens and ladies, as well as whole squad training and also general sports fitness and conditioning courses.
In addition to group courses, we also offer individual one-to-one tuition and tailored small-group masterclasses. Where appropriate, we use guest coaches with particular areas of expertise to ensure maximum benefit for those attending.
Our indoor net facilities, bowling machine and state of the art video analysis equipment, combined with our extensive experience, enables us to offer coaching which is targeted to the individual and groups, which includes drawing on current best practices as implemented by both ECB and MCCC coaching guidelines.
All AoC courses are run from the Douay Martyrs school, which is easily accessible by tube or bus and also has ample free on-site car parking.
