Day 13 of a month of Mindfulness. Today’s exercise is Cause & Effect. How many actions do you do in single hour? Maybe put some washing on, do some housework, pay a bill, make a phone call, write Christmas cards, how many of those tasks do you complete? Take the time to notice all of the things you do, along with the outcome within a defined period of time.

This exercise is a form of meditation known as Candle Gazing, or Trataka (to look or to gaze) in Sanskrit. There are many benefits to practising Trataka including calming the mind and improving concentration. So find a quiet place, light a candle and give it a go!

Ahimsa: non-violence; to do no harm; to have love for one's self and compassion for others. In Eastern thought, non-violence is so valued that it stands at the very core and foundation of all yoga philosophy & practice.
