I took a little holiday to Manchester... what happened was unexpected! (Well doesn't that sound like click bait! 😆)
The unexpectedness was finding so much inspiration in such a short space of time. Manchester is vibrant, colourful and everywhere you look there's a message of inclusivity. Throw in a stonking great concert by the QUEEN Janelle Monae and an amazing Annie Swinnteron art exhibit and you've got one great city break.

I'm Charlie - Nice to meet you! ​ For me photography is all about connection and storytelling with a whole bunch of silliness and laughter thrown into the mix!... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I live in Newbury with an awesome roommate, too many house plants (which I mostly keep alive!) and with a sense of decor which my partner calls ‘boho chic’ - AKA having lived here for 2 years and not unpacked all my boxes - who has time for unpacking?!?
When I’m not out shooting, you’ll find me dancing the night away at a ceroc or salsa class, having long conversations about feminism or snuggled up in my rocking chair watching my guilty pleasure - prison documentaries!

Me and Lizzie found a big floppy hat to play with!

Yesterday I finally got to photography the rings that inspired Amethyst's photography's name. These are my sister in law, Lizzie's wedding and engagement ring, made by Petra Jewellery. A unique one (two?) of a kind, they were designed by my brother Chris and feature a gorgeous marquise diamond with amethysts and diamonds on the band either side. Modern and simply stunning, great work Chris!

Photos for your personal branding do not need to be intimidating. I met up with the fabulous Ines to take some snaps for her website in a relaxed shoot around University Parks. We stomped in the mud, climbed trees and generally had a great laugh!

We had such a good time on the photo shoot with Charlie that by the time we got home, we'd already agreed that we wanted her as our wedding photographer. Both of us usually look really awkward and self-conscious in photos, but we felt completely relaxed with her, and it really shows in the pictures. Not only are they absolutely beautiful, they really capture the atmosphere of the setting, and our personalities: there are so many that we look at and say 'but that's just so us!'. We also have lovely memories of having a really good time having the photos taken - a rarity for us!

My fiancée and I have always hated being in photos - until our engagement shoot with Charlie! I think it shows throughout how happy and relaxed we felt with her, and she had so many ideas which made it a really fun afternoon. Plus the photos are amazing and came back unbelievably quickly. I guess the ultimate recommendation though is the fact we've already booked her for our wedding! Can't wait to work with you again Charlie, roll on Autumn 2019!

My fiancée and I both had a really nice time on our engagement shoot with Charlie. She made the whole experience really relaxed and fun. Her attention to detail was great, and the resulting photos all look incredibly natural. We can't wait for her to photograph our wedding next year. We especially appreciate how she has made everything very clear and concise since booking her, making arranging our wedding so much less stressful.

My fiancé and I had an engagement shoot with Charlie a few weeks ago. We were a little nervous and thought it might be a bit awkward as we were in the middle of Oxford on a busy Sunday afternoon. However, Charlie made us feel instantly at ease with her friendly and relaxed personality. She had arrived early and planned a route for our day, picking out quieter spots that would work well for photos and finishing off in busier areas when she knew we would have relaxed into it. We had so much fun with her that he hour flew by and we have some really great, natural looking pictures of the two of us that we really like. The pictures came back so quickly, and even included a lovely slideshow set to music. We didn't hesitate to book her for our wedding.

I was really nervous about looking ridiculous or not attractive enough, and not knowing what to do for a boudoir shoot. Charlie was amazing - she put me right at ease, made sure I was okay and comfortable, and we ended up laughing for a huge amount of the shoot. She wanted to capture me how I feel sexy or cute, in a comfortable space for me. This meant the pictures really felt like they were representative of me, and were really organic, not just me in fancy heels and 'typical' 'sexy' poses and negligee. I just wore a big comfortable shirt and ended up playing around - some of the best pictures were essentially outtakes!



I had such a great time and the final pictures are unbelievable! Thank you so much :)

I love all of my wedding photos, they look incredible. I felt so relaxed on the day , I had some amazing photos that myself and my guests didn't realise were being taken . Thank you so much Charlotte you have done an amazing jobs we are all impressed and will highly recommend you xx

Charlie's photos are just brilliant! She is so friendly and quickly puts you at ease while taking your snaps and also makes you laugh a lot! She will lie in the mud to get the best shots and look fabulous while doing it! Couldn't recommend her more �
