So eating carbs before a workout would fuel us for the workout.
Simple carbs are a quick releasing energy source and I would eat this quite close to my workout.
... Complex carbs are slower releasing and would have this a few hours before my workout.
Overall you should be eating more complex carbs than simple as they are generally healthier for you.
I do like to eat carbs at night so I feel full and have a better sleep.
