Morning all.
The winners of this year's photographic competition and kids quiz have been announced.
Congratulations to all, and many thanks to everyone who entered :-)
... You can see all the details on the blog and in the gallery on the website. In the blog I also talk about the judging process, something we look forward to each year after the walks have closed. This photo is 'Nearly There' by Chris Dixon, winner of Category A and the image we have chosen to feature on the brochure for next year. I will be posting the other winning images each week so keep an eye out!

Morning all. How have you been coping during the heatwave? The wood is remarkably resilient, although a little more rain (not too much) would be useful. I have just uploaded my latest blog post, which you can read at https://www.bluebellwalk.co.uk/july-2018< br>

We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the Regional Finals of The Rural Business Awards. The RBAs are the only UK-wide business awards specifically for the rural sector. The aim of the awards is to highlight the success of businesses across the UK’s rural economy. We are shortlisted in the category 'Outstanding Rural Diversification Project' in the South East with the winners being decided in the Autumn. So, wish us luck 😊

I hope you are enjoying this heatwave. At least working in the Wood offers some respite from the burning sun. But it's been hard work. Who has been struggling with cleavers this year? And what do you like to call them? They have many common names :-)
I have just uploaded my blog post for June, the first of my monthly posts covering preparations for next year's Bluebell Walk. I hope you enjoy reading it.

Good morning all. Well, it's a rather wet morning here. The weather still can't make it's mind up. Glorious sun one day, deluges of rain another. But work goes on in the wood as already we have to start preparing for next year.
It's a few weeks since we closed the gate on the bluebells for another year and I have posted a report on the website:
https://bluebellwalk.co.uk/may-2018
.. . PS. Don't forget to post me your photos if you'd like to enter the competition this year (details also on the website).

You have just a few more days to submit your photos for the competition this year. Are you a landscape or a people person? Animals or flowers? Do you use your phone or your camera? There are so many possibilities for capturing memorable images these days. I always like to see that unexpected picture or view that makes me smile 😊

I can't believe it's been a week since the 2018 season came to an end. It's been an exhausting time for us and all the many helpers over the last 6 weeks. So many thanks to all the volunteers for the 24 charities who have helped make the Bluebell Walk a success this year, and to all those who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes. But more importantly thank you to all of our visitors for supporting the charities and for your wonderful feedback 😊
We now look forward to seei...ng entries for the photographic competition starting to arrive. The competition is run every year, open to everyone, for images taken during this year's walks. Full details can be found on our website www.bluebellwalk.co.uk/photo-comp
So, have a look back over your photos, re-live the magic of the bluebells and then why not enter the competition? If you know anyone else who might be interested then please do pass it on. The more entries we receive, the more fun we have looking through them all 😊

Good morning all. So, what has been you favourite bluebell experience so far? I love this photo taken by Pete Goldsmith across the lower pond in Beatons Wood 😊

This is our last weekend of the 2018 season. Do come along and support Cancer Research UK. Remember a little rain brings out the scent of the #bluebells in the wood. Plenty of delicious food and hot drinks await you in the barn too 😊

User

Still looking good in the wood 😎 #nofilters #bluebells #sussex
Thanks to Peter Goldsmith Photography

Just a few days left until we close for another year. The bluebells are still looking good, especially in the more sheltered parts of the wood. (This picture was taken yesterday.)
I have just posted my last weekly update on the website. https://bluebellwalk.co.uk/update-11th-ma y-2018

User

Perfect! A touch of rain overnight to freshen the bluebells and bring out that special fragrance. Take a seat and breath in the magic. 😊 There are only a few days left before we close on 13th May. Today and tomorrow the charity is Heron's Ghyll Riding for the Disabled. Do come and support them if you can. (You can read more about their work at http://www.heronsghyll-rda.co.uk/ )

Good morning everyone. The bluebell barn is serving refreshments throughout the week. With the wood still looking fantastic why not take a break from work and treat yourself to some calm time to recharge 😎

User

After a lovely long weekend in record heat, the sun is set to continue today. Why not escape the heat in the cool of the bluebell wood. Take a peaceful stroll through the bluebells or venture further afield along one of the other walks. Refreshments today and tomorrow are provided by Hellingly CP School PTA.

User

Have a glorious bank holiday 😎

User

Early morning in the wood today.
I hope everyone is enjoying this glorious bank holiday weather as much as the bluebells are 😎

User

At last we have a forecast for a dry and sunny bank holiday weekend! More bluebells are reaching their peak every day so don't wait too long to enjoy that unique fragrance.
How would you describe the scent? Let me know in the comments 😊 and take a look at my full update on the website. https://bluebellwalk.co.uk/update-4th-may -2018
... If you can't wait for the weekend or want to avoid the crowds why not visit today? We are open from 10am 😊

Went here Bank Holiday weekend when sun was shining, first time we’ve been and so glad we decided to go. The bluebells were beautiful and plentiful and it was so relaxing walking round.

We had taken a small picnic to have on our way round but at the entrance there were signs saying no picnic food to be eaten during visit which we found disappointing.

Still enjoyed our visit and would recommend.

Visited yesterday for our third consecutive year with our now 4year old, this time venturing beyond the woods along the river walk. An ancient, magical place. Never ending carpets of flowers, heavenly scent of bluebells and the air filled with birdsong. The kiddies spotted tadpoles and ducks, imagined fairy hollows and bear hunts while we learnt loads from the info boards!. Quenching tea and delicious cake finished off the day perfectly. We'll be back again to see the changing season. Thank you.

Thoroughly enjoyed my first trip to see the bluebells. They are stunning & go on for as far as the eye can see in some areas. Really like the business model of the place too. This week was Eastbourne food bank. They ladies serving lunch were so friendly. The ploughmans & Victoria sponge was great too.

On behalf of all our family, we would like to say a huge 'thank you' to everyone involved in the 2018 Arlington Blue Walks. As a family, both young and old, we have been coming for quite some years now, and it just becomes more beautiful as both the years and the season progresses. It's a place to put body and soul back together again: go in feeling stressed - leave feeling happy and serene. And this year there was an added bonus - we left with some fresh picked asparagus from the farm shop! Thank you all, each and everyone of you.
