Saturday 16/12 Had a fantastic meal with family. Excellent menu, flavoursome large meals, excellent service. Beautiful oldy worldy pub and cosy. Thank you 👍

User

New landlord and landlady (Anne and Martin) - opened up their kitchen the day after they arrived and delivered a lovely tasty meal with a flow of conversation and humour. Very friendly staff and was an enjoyable evening. We then went for Sunday roast and again the meal was fantastic and well presented, left us wanted more. Congratulations on your first week! We look forward to our next visit!!

User

Management & staff were lovely & friendly very helpful snd food was Amazing , this is our 2nd visit to the artichoke snd we will most definitely be coming back , Oh yes the wine was good too 😊 X

User

I've been to The Artichoke a few times and always enjoy the decor and roaring fire. Today we walked there from Canterbury and arrived between lunch and dinner servings, but the chef was kind enough to make us cold food anyway. The owners were lovely, welcoming and very kind. I'll definitely go back :)

User

I went to the Artichoke for a family meal , we all enjoyed our meals , I especially as I had steak which was cooked to perfection which was medium rare , when asked if the meal was okay, I had to say that the steak was to perfection unlike a steak I had in Jamie Oliver's at Westfield which was crucified . Thanks very much to the chefs at the Artichoke

Had my dads wake here Monday, nothing was to much trouble, brilliant service, put on some lovely food for everyone and they are not normally open on Monday day time.

User

Fantastic food in a beautiful, cosy, 15th century building with an authentic feel and great, welcoming service. Highly recommended.

User

Family friendly little pub and lovely food! Will come back again.

User

Fabulous home cooked meals. Well worth a trip out to

User

Excellent service, kid friendly, and great food!

User

Dropped in to have lunch with my son who is at Uni in Canterbury. No fuss, good steak & ale pie, nice pint of Masterbrew, friendly locals & landlord, everything you want from a village pub!

User

Beautiful characterful pub with lovely Shepherd Neame Ales on and all in great condition. We stopped off for a quick drink but ended up staying all evening and had a lovely meal made with quality ingredients. The pub is about 1 mile maybe more off the main road and well worth the small detour!

User

Amazing food, great atmosphere and very friendly & caring staff. We visited a short while ago for a family meal and my Grandad unfortunately fell ill soon after we arrived (certainly nothing to do with the food I might add!) The staff there were incredible in calling the ambulance, moving furniture out the way and assisting in any way that they could. We're incredibly grateful and will certainly be back again, hopefully this time without the drama!

User

A proper and un-spoilt village pub. Always a welcome from the landlord and his lovely wife (Bill and Sue) Patronised by locals and all visitors to Kent. Good food and service. Attractive staff in every way. One of our favourites.

User

Went to “the choke” to celebrate friends birthday with 8 others, great food, reasonably priced, very friendly atmosphere.get yourselves down there people, enjoy.

User

We visit Kent every August and walk each year from Canterbury to Chilham. The Artichoke is our first and favourite stopping point: lovely pub, nice beer. See you next year.

User

Unfortunately did not live up to the hype we had even given

Lots of microwave noise from the Kitchen, although assured every meal is freshly prepared.

Mash potatoes and vegetables were extremely hot (Microwave?)

Lamb shank and sauce was gelatinous although claimed to be the biggest selling, my wife couldn't eat it, this was deducted from the bill without asking to be fair.

My Ribeye was ok, nothing special.

Don't ask for pepper sauce as that was terrible.

Maybe we had an unlucky day, you need to decide for yourself if you try it.

The appearance of the outside of the building however is very nice.
