Heating and hot water is now back on, pool temperatures are nearly back to normal.
Building operating as normal

Learner pool will be closed until 12nn today.
Swim lessons and aqua classes are on as normal.
Pool temperatures are a bit colder than normal and there is no heating/hot water throughout the building.

We are currently experiencing technical issues with our heating system. We have no air heating or hot water throughout the building effecting showers and handbasins. The main pool, studio pool and Spa jacuzzi are operating at a cooler temperature than normal

Superbly equipped gym with air con. Lovely new machines with keycard access to record your moves and progress. Motivational and friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoying my new hobby, monthly fees are £32 but cover classes at welfare too so I still get to do Zumba and bums and tums. Well worth the money for me �

So yesterday i took my son to the libary and the one and only book he wanted we where unable to take home due to some reason or another. But anyways my son was heart broken and sobbed so convinced him to come an have another look he was trying to find another one the same explained there wouldnt be one. The 2 ladies behind the counted made my sons day! And managed to get the book out for him he has none stopped reading the book and he walked out of ashington lesuire centre one very happy little boy thank yous xx

Just had my daughters birthday party here today. Everyone had an amazing time. Vicky who handled all the catering was absolutely amazing. Would definitely recommend. Everyone commented on how fantastic the food was. Amazing party, lovely clean facilities and catering was superb.

I've just joined for £32 per month I've signed up for the 6 week weight loss challenge so I attending as many classes as possible I'm really enjoying functional training and Aquafit these are classes you can attend yourself and I've found all the people very friendly

I use the leisure centre weekly, for trampolining sessions, the coaches are absolutely incredible! They bring out the best! I've not done trampolining since my mum and gary coached, from where I was then, to now.. I've gone so much further .. My confidence has been boosted massively! The coaches are a massive credit to the centre, the gym and trampolines are amazing! Thursdays and Fridays are now my favourite days of the week.. I recommend anyone who would like to try trampolining, go and do it!! The support is incredible! The girls are amazing and the coaches are just fantastic!!

I love this centre it offers a range of classes to suit all abilities, the gym staff our very approachable they all have extensive knowledge of all the gym equipment they all know how to develop your fitness to the next level, this is quickly turning into my second home xx

Had my daughters birthday and family reunion here today. Room was big, clean and well presented. The play area at entrance was loved by all the kids. The food provided by Vicky and here staff was expansive, tasty and well presented. Definitely recommend

Fantastic place and absolutely loved the classes. Had to work in Ashington for a couple of days and usually go to Concordia leisure centre so this was my first experience and will certainly be going back. Reception was friendly and the instructors kept you focused and motivated.

Fab classes. Great price per month...full use of all activities ...classes. ..swimming etc...book 2 weeks in advance online....awesome...friendly helpful staff....why did I leave it so long to join

Excellent facilities, fitness classes are brilliant with a varied selection, pool much cleaner and accessible than old pool. Easy online booking system if you have any problems very efficient and friendly staff always on hand to help ��

Used the small pool last week with my nearly 7 month old baby and he absolutely loved it. The pool was just the right temperature and depth for him.



Used the gym for the first time yesterday and loved the machines. The problem is when I went to reception to let them know I wanted to use the gym. I asked the woman how to get to the gym so obviously she knew it was my first time. When I got to the doors of the gym I felt like such a nugget because I couldn't get in, and a man came out the office to tell me you have to scan your card for the doors to open.

The facilities are great and the classes are great. However, since the waiting list aspect of booking classes has been scrapped, I can't get booked onto the classes that I like to go to. I go to the body combat class and every class at Ashington is fully booked as far in advance as what the classes can be viewed. I am going to have to keep logging in to check for availability and I can't always do this when I am at work - the e-mails informing of class spaces were really useful.

We received some 7 days passes for active Northumberland from the county show last week and on Saturday we decided to do the 50 mile round trip and give Ashington leisure centre a try. I wish we hadn't bothered! I did not obviously encounter all the staff there that day but the ones I did were the most unwelcoming people I've ever met! Firstly we were interrogated, literally, as to why we had these passes and how we got them. We were then told the children couldn't use them and after some discussion They were then taken away from us at reception and we were told to just go in and swim! When we exited my husband approached the receptionist again and asked why we couldn't have the passes back as they were valid for seven days. Eventually she told us we didn't need them his name, she took no other details, was on the active Northumberland system and that's all we would have to give at any centre to get in to swimming etc. Well low and behold come swimming at Cramlington today and guess who's not on the system. Thankfully the staff at Cramlington were much friendlier, helpful and welcoming. From now on I'll be sticking to using them. Not a good first impression at all.

Regular member, went swimming today after couple of weeks off, 1/2 showers out of order, rest of the changing rooms were filthy. Looked for a feedback form... none... so here it is. Thought with the new scheme there were meant to be ‘clean teams’ obviously taken the month off... disgusting! �

Specifically checked online and on Facebook for small pool times....arrived and small pool was off and they had the majority of big pool blocked off for lane swim, not really ideal for taking a 3 year old! Who situation wasn’t helped by the rude receptionist either, attitude was vile!

I've been using the gym and pool frequently since October and have found it brilliant- Ive not got a complaint at all with those facilities! I came for a spa day with my mum and sister for a birthday! For a start - we paid £15 each compared to the price lists we picked up from the spa last week! I don't think the facilities are worth £25 each for 3.5 hours when you compare with other facilities. Today though, the whole place had a smell of rotten drains- all the rooms were smelly and it really spoiled our day. We weren't able to use the relaxation room as the smell was putrid and unbearable. The steam room was not working and there was not anyone around all morning to speak to or indeed warn us. We have been twice before and had a nice time but will not be back for the spa.

I can't believe the price increase, we used to pay £10 for 2 hours to use the spa, we used to go twice a week so that was £40 per week for 2 people. Now there trying to charge £25 for 3 and a half hours. That's just scandalous, your not getting that sort of money so well done you have now lost our £40 per week.
