About Auditory Verbal Uk
Our vision is that all deaf children have the opportunity to listen and speak as equals alongside their hearing peers.
Auditory Verbal Uk Description
At Auditory Verbal UK, we want to see a world where all deaf children have the same opportunities in life as hearing children.
Auditory Verbal UK is an award-winning national charity that helps babies and young children with permanent hearing loss to listen and talk, without the need for lip reading or sign language. Through auditory verbal therapy (AVT), our listening and spoken language specialists (LSLS Cert AVT®) coach parents to enable their children to listen, talk and develop the lifelong communication and social skills they need to participate fully in the hearing world.
We offer internationally accredited training in auditory verbal therapy for professionals working in the field of paediatric hearing impairment and work in partnership with a wide range of organisations to raise expectations for deaf children in society.
We work with families and professionals from across the UK at our centres in London and Oxfordshire to create a sound future for deaf children throughout the country.
We offer joint sessions with Children's audiology centre Chear, as part of our Listen and Talk As One initiative. These sessions combine Auditory Verbal Therapy with an audiology check and alteration to ensure that your child is getting the absolute best out of their technology.
