Keep a look out for the new signs slowly going up. So far, only one at the hall but there are another four in the making and plans for more to come!

Basildon Village Market finds itself in the unfortunate position (again) of being let down by the people who were scheduled to run the cafe, due to their other commitments.
So, if you or anyone you know would like to run the cafe on behalf of a charity or a not-for-profit, please email bvm@kerewin.com.
For a group who can encourage their membership to bake for them, the cafe can earn anywhere from £200 to £400 for an organisation - an amount that can make a difference - and w...e have had some groups raise over £650.
The cost to your organisation is only £20. The hall has a 5-star kitchen with commercial-grade appliances.
If you would like more information, please email Judi at bvm@kerewin.com.

Basildon Village Market is once again looking for someone to run the Market cafe on 25th May. This is the Bank Holiday Weekend, so I know it is difficult at this short notice, but I’ve just received an email from the person who was signed up to say that they are now unable to do it, which is sad.
To a not-for-profit organisation, who can rely on people to donate baked products, this can be a good way of earning a little extra funding. It takes a small team on the day of aroun...d 4 or 5 people to run it. The charge from the Market to the organisation is a mere £20. It has been known to raise in excess of £500, but is more likely to raise around £200.
The cafe supports the Market hugely. We often have people who come in _just_ for the coffee, tea and bacon/sausage rolls but then mill around the Market and often buy something.
Please email Judi at BVM@kerewin.com

This is a community plea: I have just been told by West Berkshire Council that our Basildon Village Market signs are a safety risk, being that they are visible to drivers. I have to take them down. I’ve asked if we can leave them up until Saturday but I have the funny feeling that I’m going to be told “no”. (Edited to say: I’ve been given a grace period. I must have them down by the end of the weekend and they’re returning the one they took down outside Pangbourne College).
S...o, if you’re driving around the village and notice the signs are down, this is not an indication that the market has been cancelled, this is an indication that they’ve forced me to do it.
So, I can put them up on private property and fence lines, in private woodland etc.
If you live near the location of a Basildon Village Market sign and would be willing to put one up on your property where general public can see it each month, would you please contact me at bvm@kerewin.com. I will supply the sign, post (if needed) and all the stuff to put it up. All you have to do each month is put it up on the Sunday before the Market (which happens the last Saturday of the months of March, April, May, June, September, October and November).
Thanks, Judi

New items for sale on Saturday from Stick A Few Gears On It And Call It Steampunk. Everything can be personalised to order for delivery by the 15th of December.
When the lantern is lit, the pattern is shadowed against the wall. How about a cushion cover for the Anti-Christmas person in your life who is _so_ anti they make Scrooge look like an angel? Maybe you want to say Thank you to someone. This can go on a t-shirt, cushion cover - you name it. And finally, Christmas gifts or early end-of-year (yeah, _really_ early) for a teacher?
These plus more can be viewed, and orders placed, on Saturday. Look for Judi - she’s the one with the bright purple hair!
