Visited becketts for valentines night, Exceptional food. was served by a waitress called Lauren who helped me pick what to have as I was torn between a couple of choices, great staff and great food will definitely be returning again �

Staff are as just as much a credit to the restaurant as the food is all I can say is wow wow wow had a special evening for the wife's birthday staff are tentative friendly and so polite food is amazing as everyone states the lamb bom bom starter was the bees knees lovely evening would recommend as one of the standout restaurants in Portsmouth

Lovely place serving excellent and delicious food by very good staff. Couldn’t ask for more .

Found Becketts via a Google search. Only a 10 Minutes Walk from our hotel & the reviews were good so we booked a table. Best decision in a long time!

Becketts is a delight. The premises are wonderful the entire bar & restaurant is classy but so welcoming. The staff are delightful warm welcoming attentive & lovely to talk to.

The food is some of the best we’ve ever had. Tasty classy it really was superb

The whole dining experience was just magical. We will be back

We went here yesterday for lunch. On a Sunday there is only roasts, no 'a la carte'. That said we were aware and the meal was lovely. The ambiance is also very nice and would consider calling into there for a drink or two. My one observation is that the wine list, by the bottle is in my humble opinion expensive. If you fancy a nice night out give it a try.

Busiest Sunday of the year yet all was faultless. Choosing to dine earlier than we normally would, (old people always eat early:-) ) I was a bit concerned we would be rushed, however I needn't have worried, yes they were busy and not as swift as one may want at times. however they were, accommodating and on point.

The food was outstanding, our table included one of each of the different roast and one fish. The terrine starter was lovely.

All was served with a relaxed yet attentive manor. Water replenished without request and other drinks served in quality glasses. I do like a drink served in the correct, quality, vessel.

Everyone at the table commented on the quality of the food and service

The restaurant is nicely fitted out with total attention to detail.

The acoustic music was a nice back drop, a lovely memorable experience. So glad we booked.

Well done Becketts, see you again soon.

We booked our table for 8.15pm on fight night with a view to eat and then join friends for the fight at 10.15pm. We arrived on time but we weren't seated until 9.20pm without anyone apologising for the delay, we actaully had to ask to be seated as we had been waiting. We then had to ask to have our orders taken at 9.35pm because nobody came back to serve us after being shown to our table.

Food arrived and was all fine and nice but we had been waiting for so long we had to rush to eat it.

I understand the restaurant is busy but it would have been nice to have been acknowledged and an explanation that there was actually quite a delay. People book times for a reason.

Overall the food is nice but the customer service needs some improvement

Really disappointed as the website said they had a vegan main which was a Moroccan tagine with pita and tabbouleh - wasn't on the menu in the restaurant, I was offered stuffed peppers on spinach leaves instead which sounded quite boring. Instead I decided to order two starters, bread and olives + avocado, artichoke and asparagus salad. Salad was very oily and didn't have much flavour. Olives were average. Decided to go for their vegan coconut, pineapple and rum dessert they advertised on the website... like the main, it also wasn't on the menu in the restaurant. They weren't sold out, they just no longer offered them. I understand being a vegan not every restaurant will cater for you, but why advertise dishes on the website which aren't available in the restaurants? I always check the menus beforehand to make sure I'm not going to be awkward when asking for vegan options. Massive disappointment + update your website!

Disappointing, new menu isn't as good as old menu, mussels were tasteless and lamb was so chewy and too rare, it used to be my favourite restaurant, now I won't be rushing to go back. It was my birthday and really looking forward to a night off from the kids and to eat decent food. Such a shame!
