About Belmond Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons

Nestled in the picturesque Oxfordshire village of Great Milton and created by Raymond Blanc, Le Manoir is renowned as one of Britain's finest gastronomic and hotel experiences.

Belmond Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons Description

"Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons is the fulfilment of a personal vision, a dream that one day I would create a hotel and restaurant in harmony where my guests would find perfection in food, comfort, service and welcome. "

Raymond Blanc O. B. E.

Le Manoir is renowned as one of Britain's finest gastronomic experiences. It is also one of the country's most intimate and original hotels, with 32 individually designed guest rooms.

Created by celebrated chef Raymond Blanc, Le Manoir has been delighting guests since 1984. A year later it was awarded two Michelin stars, which it has now held for a remarkable 27 years.

Surrounded by lawns, flower borders and orchards, Le Manoir enjoys an idyllic setting. But beyond the eye-catching displays are vegetable and herb gardens that provide the kitchen with ultra-fresh, and often exotic, produce that helps keep the kitchens at the cutting edge of taste.

What an amazing place. From the food, to the room and the most wonderful staff, this place is definitely worth a visit.

User

What an amazing experience!! The venue, grounds, gardens, ponds...the magnificent room, the mind blowing taste extravaganza of the seven course tasting menu, the cookery school - tips, suggestions on improving current cooking practices as well as getting demonstrations and hands on practical skills for new recipe ideas. The staff throughout were superb, extremely helpful and accommodating...we couldn’t fault it!!

We ate and stayed overnight for my husbands 60th birthday with all our family. It was a fantastic experience Belmond Le Manoir is stunning and sublime, the food is exquisite, the staff are professional, welcoming and cannot do enough for you. The whole experience was amazing. We look forward to myself and my husband staying again in the near future. It was a little beautiful bit of France but in this country. Thank you all for making our stay even more pleasurable than we could have imagined, kind regards Peter & Janice Dennett

This was booked by my husband as a surprise for me as I have wanted to go for 30 years - and it lived up to expectations!

We had a wonderful five course lunch, starting with Canapes and drinks in the lounge. We were then taken through to the restaurant where we were looked after by a lovely waiter (I wish I had taken his name, a well spoken young man with blonde hair.) who was very attentive without being intrusive.

After we had finished eating we were escorted back to the comfort of the lounge for coffee and petit fours.

The food was beautiful, even my relatively fussy daughter enjoyed everything.

The ambiance was comfortable and welcoming.

The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive.

After coffee we had a pleasant walk around the gardens before reluctantly leaving.

The only disappointment was that I was unable to meet Raymond himself as he was on holiday.

Make no mistake - this was a treat and not something we could afford to do regulally - but should the opportunity arise we would definatly return.

There's only one rating I can give to Le Manoir and that's a 5. From arrival to departure and everything in between there is nothing to fault. We came for my 40th birthday yesterday and it was one of the best experiences of my life. The attention to detail is second to none and nothing is too much trouble. The food and wine is to die for and exquisitely presented. We had the 6 course lunch and there were a few ingredients I would ordinarily avoid such as cauliflower and mushrooms but I wanted to experience the menu as a whole with no changes and I can honestly say it was the best food I've ever eaten and absolutely worth every penny. I can see now why they have retained 2 Michelin stars for over 30 years.

The sun shone down on us having drinks in the beautiful gardens. Then time for a fabulous bubble bath in our luxurious Hyacinth room before returning to the garden for aperitifs. We were soon escorted to the dining room where we were served the most delicious dinner. Visually, each course was a work of art, painstaking attention to detail made me feel honoured that this had been prepared for me. Most importantly, it tasted fantastic.

Breakfast was another triumph. Fruit, pastries, cooked breakfast to order. I’m not usually a breakfast sort of person but couldn’t resist tucking into fruit and croissants followed by scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Greedy? Maybe, but it was my birthday and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Finally, a big thank you to every single member of staff we encountered who could not possibly have been more charming.

The high expectations I had about dining at Le manoir were easily exceeded. From the moment we arrived to the moment we had to leave was a fabulous experience . The little touches from the staff included substituting an item that included cheese for another equally delicious item to a surprise birthday candle and message in a fantastic dessert . The manor , the gardens , the dining , the staff …. superb .

Once again an unforgettable experience at Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons

Here you feel very special from the minute you arrive to alas the minute you leave. A sumptuous suite wrapped us up in decadent comfort while the 7 course tasting menu couldn’t be faulted . Even the Japanese style gardens were a real pleasure to meander through during a February drizzle .

We’re already planning our next visit to heaven !

Oh my where to start, we came to lunch to celebrate my dear friends birthday . What a fantastic hotel the food was sensational especially the Sea Trout, roaring fires just begging you to sit by with a lovely Gin and Tonic.

I cannot recommend you enough everyone should try and visit you at least once, we have already booked a return visit.

The gardens and grounds are a sight to behold at anytime of year.

It was such an amazingly beautiful place run by very friendly and professional people. The food was beautiful both taste and the way it was presented to you. To actually get to meet Raymand Blanc himself was way beyond my expectations and what a lovely, genuine, friendly person he was.

User

Impeccable service from start until we left the following morning-the food also was superb. Expensive-well yes but for this quality you have to pay,so no.

I am lost for words in how to describe this most exquisite gem of a sanctuary, because that is what it is! The stresses and strains of everyday life ebb away as you enter the immaculate grounds of Le Manoir. The setting is truly tranquil, the environment superbly relaxed yet with a formal edge to know you are somewhere special. All the staff are accommodating and inviting and you know, whether you are there for that special once in a lifetime treat or an age old friend that pops in on a more regular basis, you are valued and welcomed without prejudice. It goes without saying, the food is out of this world, whether you are sampling the taster menu or the a la carte, the wines and cocktails are a delight and the accommodation is second to none in the world! If you were going to go that extra mile for a once in a lifetime experience you really couldn't go wrong with Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons! I have just returned from a surprise visit to celebrate my 50th birthday. My husband and I had the most fabulous time and this trip will be documented in my most treasured memories! A big thank you to all of the staff at Le Manoir for making this a birthday to remember!

Had the most wonderful 2 night stay at Le Manoir! The food was amazing and the setting was perfect. The staff were so knowledgable and attentive but not overbearing. The tour of the kitchen was such a special experience and getting to meet the head chef Dorian and taking to him was so interesting. Our 10 year anniversary was one we will never forget especially with our beautiful room and all the fantastic little touches that just make it magical! Thank you everyone who made it so special xx

Came for lunch today as a birthday surprise organised by my husband. Both food and service were exquisite. My favourite dish was the Trout with the sorbet what a festival of flavours that was!

Such an amazing birthday treat.

Thank you!

An absolutely wonderful place - almost enchanting. The grounds are gorgeous and the quintessential England countryside.

We had a private dining experience with personal welcome by the executive chef. He was fantastic and also gave a personal tour of the kitchen and the cellar. The food is over the top amazing and the service is immaculate. A MUST do if you can.
