Everyone meet Princess Princess is around 3 years old, we have her as a lurcher cross. Princess could be looking for rescue space very soon, we have been told she prefers larger dogs but will obviously assess her when we meet her. We could be looking for a foster home for Princess. This would have to be child free and small dog/animal free (NO CATS) 🐶

Would 100% recommend this cattery! They’ve looked after my Billy a few times now, and each time he becomes more and more settled, to the point where he doesn’t want to go in his box to go back home!!! I want to say a massive thank to you all of the staff here, for looking after him so well. You can definitely tell the staff are passionate and have a love for working with animals. My parents also use this cattery (for Bertie�) and they too have had a great experience every time. Also, a big thank you for taking lots of pictures; it’s so reassuring to know your loved one is in good hands by receiving regular updates on the fb group via messages, photos or videos. All the staff have been so accommodating and responsive to any messages I’ve sent, where I’ll always get a reply very promptly. Thank you so much again !! Hugs from Billy (Pollon) �� Helen xxx

We were so pleased to get Sherlock back home today. He obviously hadn't been pining for us! We loved seeing his photos and videos playing with the other dogs. We will definitely be bringing him back to you when we go away again. Next time we will take up your offer of being bathed before we collect him, our bathroom looks like it's been hit by a tornado now! 😂🤣😂🤣

We put our two dogs (Bernie and Marti) here for a couple of days. Every time we have used Birchwood our dogs have been really well looked after and return healthy and very happy. I would thoroughly recommend this kennels.

We have been leaving our dogs in the care of Andy his team many times over the years & have no hesitation in recommending Birchwood Lodge. Most recently our two young dogs had their first boarding experience & judging by the FB updates had the time of their lives. They came home happy & content & for us it is so reassuring to know that on the occasions that we are away we can leave them safe in the knowledge that Steven & his colleagues are looking after them in the best possible way. We collected our dog mac after a 2 week holiday. To say I was apprehensive is an understatement, as mac had never stayed in kennels before. If I could give higher than 5* I would. It was amazing to see videos quite often, and sometimes even getting a pm to say they would be videoing live. I felt like a bit of a nuisance at times sending private messages to check on mac, and always got a lovely reply, sometimes within minutes, assuring me that is what they are there for. Thank you to Stephen and everyone there... mac had a wonderful holiday with you and we won't hesitate to book with you in the future x

Mitzi loves going and whilst we were recently on holiday abroad she became unwell. They took her to the vet and kept us informed. We knew she was in safe hands



We love seeing the videos and know that she is well looked after.

Watching videos, I’m happy my boy enjoyed his time, as I was nervous for him as he is nervous around new people, but clearly without me he loved it, thankyou for looking after my big bear, and will sure come back if ever needed

Us and our dog sully love this place, nice to know that we don’t have to worry about the dog because he loves it so much and is so well looked after!

This place was recommended to us & I recommend it to every one of my dog owner friends...our dogs both love it there & are thoroughly spoiled by Andy & his staff. They come home shattered & tails wag when they know where they are going, they must enjoy it as they still talk to us when we collect them so five stars all round. Nothing is too much trouble for Andy & his staff, from our diet needs to socialising, we love seeing the photos on FB & can genuinely see how much the staff love & look after all animals.

Thank you to Andy and the team. I have used these guys a few times now and they have always been so accommodating! The FB updates are a pleasure to see and make me feel reassured that our Simba is in very good hands. Highly recommend these guys! Thank you, again!

Steven and the staff are absolutely dedicated to the animals in their care and go above and beyond to make sure they feel loved and looked after for the duration of their holiday. Each animal is loved equally and I'm so grateful to be able to use these kennels for rescue dogs as I know each will be treated with compassion and allowed to be the dog they have the potential to be. The field is such a great space for dogs to run around and mix in a secure environment and have fun! The staff all love the dogs and have been fantastic with mu rescue girl Lucy. Steven's manner is so calm around the dogs and they all seem to fall in love with him instantly!

Our working cocker Angus has been here quite a lot in the last three months and, thank goodness, he loves it! He runs in without even looking back, tail wagging. We love to see photos of him on Facebook, enjoying himself socialising with other dogs, and he comes home clean and happy. Couldn't ask for more! The staff are lovely and we wouldn't take Angus anywhere else. Keep up the good work :)

Our crazy Springer Gatsby has just come back from a week at your Kennel and it’s like he’s been on holiday too! Absolutely full of beans, happy and fit! It’s great to be able to see videos of the dogs socialising so well. Thanks as always for fab care x

Our beagle Zeus regularly visits and he loves it! Always comes home happy and exhausted from all the fun he has had. Highly recommend!

My two dogs spent their first holiday at Birchwood Lodge this month and totally loved it! Andy and his team are great and put me at ease when leaving them. Have my next hols in the summer, so dogs booked in already. �

My crazy dog literally jumps over the door to get into Birchwood he loves it so much. The staff recognise him by name without me even saying hello and clearly enjoy their job and love playing with the dogs. And the photos on Facebook are great for when I am away. He has a better time than I do! Thank you for looking after our chewie so much!

My Dog duke loves coming to stay he gets to play with lots of different dogs more than I let him, which makes me happy when I see videos of him... staff are great with him too which is always good to know.

My Bullmastiff Harvey loves coming here. I never worry about him, as I know he's having a great time. Always very well looked after and the pictures on Facebook are great. I love looking at them, watching him running round enjoying himself. I would definitely recommend this kennels �

If I could give Birchwood a higher rating I would. Professional, caring, friendly and go above and beyond to make sure both pets and their owners are reassured. Bailey stayed with them for a week and it was his first time in kennels so we were a bit anxious - he can also be a bit reactive to other dogs. Steven is fantastic. Introduced him slowly to “the pack” and kept in contact about how he was doing - always replying to my messages within a matter of minutes. It was so lovely to see Bailey running around having the best time with so many other dogs.



Absolutely would not hesitate to send Bailey back here - I’m not sure he wanted to come home! I wouldn’t even consider another kennels and it’s such a relief to have found somewhere that we trust to have him.

I was worried about Sammy going into kennels as collies can sometimes struggle. But they socialise the dogs well. Every time you go there, dogs are out playing and people are playing with them, keeping them entertained. He seems to have loved it there. The Facebook updates help to reassure you as to how he was doing. Thanks guys!

I trusted the facebook and google review when I was looking for a place for my cat. all the cattery in London were fully booked and expensive. I found this one and call and Andy immediately booked my Arnold in. I was very perplex as I've never leave my cat without a human that he knows, even less in a cage, half outside, and this for 17 days !

They even send me a picture of him when I asked for it, this made my day :D

Andy and his team made it very easy for me and they gave me faith in them. When I came back my Arnold was just a bit stressed by the noise for like an hour, and then he was so loving ! When we finally come back home, he immediately found back his old habits and was a little glue with me, but I can't complain about love !

I'd definitely re use Andy's services for my cat, with no hesitation. Highly recommended !

I regularly leave my dogs here whenever I am away. The staff are very friendly and I know that my dogs are safe staying here and I don't have to worry about anything. I have never had any problems and have been a customer for years. I love that the kennels post pictures of my dogs on Facebook, so I can see what they are up to!

I have recently collected my dog, Ralphie, after a 10 day stay at the kennels. It was really lovely to see the videos of him during his stay and so reassuring to see his tail wagging constantly. I even sent a private message a couple of times to ask how he was getting on and received a reply very quickly, reassuring me that he was fine. I was very apprehensive about putting Ralphie in kennels but I'm so pleased that I found Birchwood Lodge and would definitely use them again. Thank you very much to everyone there.

I don't normally leave feedback for anything as am too lazy but had to leave 5 stars for Birchwood. I used them for the first time at the weekend and they were amazing, my lab Slinky was so happy. The staff are so friendly, professional and above everything else caring. I won't be going anywhere else xxxx

Having volunteered at Birchwood Lodge recently I’d like to give an ‘insiders’ review.

None of us like the idea of leaving our babies and the thought of kennels is enough to worry the life out of us.

I spent 2 solid months volunteering here to help me boost my CV as I planned to work full time at a vets (which I now do). I watched closely the care given to all the dogs, cats and small animals during my time at Birchwood.

I can honestly say Stephen and the team do the very best they can to show love, compassion and reassurance to the animals. They dogs and cats are all spoken to with love and care. They are petted and fussed and cuddled. The dogs love their socialising time and Stephen manages their integration with a solid understanding of behaviours and boundaries.

He’s magic with the dogs and has shy, worried pups running around and playing happily in no time at all.

What you see on the videos is a daily event. Dogs making friends and having happy holidays. It was lovely to be a part of and I wish Stephen all the very best for the future. He truly deserves it!

Have used the kennels for many years now and my dogs are as happy there as they are at home. The FB updates of what they are up to whilst I'm away are a real comfort and joy to see. All adding up to peace of mind. Keep up the great work.

Clara had her first day at Birchwood today, she is a nervy dog at times but had a great first experience. We are thrilled and have no hesitation in recommending Birchwood to anyone looking for a place to board their pooch! The staff are lovely, very caring and devoted to the dogs. Seeing Facebook pictures and videos of him running around having fun with all the other dogs was so good and reassuring for us .. it's a great thing to do ... he's only 1 and seems he's absolutely loved his time with you all so thank you so much for all the care and love you've shown him x Andrea and Steve

Bailey went to Birchwood in September 2017, his first ever time in kennels. We'd been along to visit the kennels before-hand and were very pleased with the attentiveness of the staff toward Bailey, who came along to give his approval. We were able to see him on Facebook which certainly helped our peace of mind. When we picked him up he was in good spirits and happy to see us both. They told us he'd had a problem with eating and frightened of his bowl. We told the kennels about him being shy and nervy but forgot to say he's a picky eater. However, the staff went out of their way to sit with him to get him to eat. We would certainly recommend these kennels to anyone wanting to put their dog or cat somewhere safe and happy.

Amazing care for our dog Bobby. Bob has medical, dietary and social needs that were met beyond expectations this past 10 days. Facebook and messenger updates were fantastic and gave us piece of mind. I'm not sure he wanted to come home today as he has been spoilt rotten even coming home with a toy he became attached to. Would definitely recommend using Birchwood, Outstanding care thank you so much �
