The Property
An immaculate and luxuriously presented detached cottage, occupying a superb hillside setting on the Waternish Peninsula on the north west of the Isle of Skye. This Skye cottage has been built to very high standards and takes full advantage of the fabulous sea and mountain views. Very well appointed throughout, this Skye cottage is ideal for a family or friends who wish to enjoy time together exploring the magical Isle of Skye, and the wonderful scenery and wildlife that the island has to offer. There are four spacious bedrooms in this Skye cottage, with an en-suite shower room to the master bedroom. The large open plan living area in this Skye cottage is a fabulous space, with an impressively equipped kitchen, a large dining area positioned to take full advantage of the fabulous views, a comfy seating area and even a cross trainer for working off all that holiday food whilst gazing out to sea! The main sitting room is a very comfortable space for total relaxation, and the views from the picture window are sure to be more appealing than any TV programme! Outside this Skye cottage there is a large paved patio area, an ideal spot for alfresco dining or a pre-dinner drink. Within a short drive of this Skye cottage is the historic village of Stein, which not only has its own inn, reputed to be the oldest inn on Skye, but is also home to a renowned seafood restaurant which is well worth a visit. The Waternish area itself is brimming with local craft industries such as Skyeskyns, a tannery and showroom, and Halistra, a local pottery perfect for gift purchases. The area has some fabulous walks, and a meander through Waternish Forest will take you down to the black coral shores of Score Bay. The Isle of Skye has much to offer visitors and your Skye cottage will be a joy to return to after a day exploring.

Note: Cottage may be suitable for wheelchair users and accompanied disabled.

Skyeskyns is very local to us here at Bitacora. We absolutely love the whole experience there as well as the tasty treats YURTea&coffee have to offer on site. It's therefore a very welcome addition to have another of their shops now located in Portree! It's super modern with the most fabulous sun deck outside. To top off all of that both sites offer Skye roasters coffee...

Lochbay is only a few miles away from us and fast becoming world renowned. If sitting by the sea eating extremely delicious fresh seafood made by a Michelin * chef is your thing we'd advise getting booked in early. It's an intimate little gem and super popular!
For live music during your visit we recommend the Edinbane Inn's Sunday afternoon session. . . .

Portree has a nice selection of cafés, bars and restaurants. We like a relaxing lunch overlooking the bay at the Cuillin Hills hotel. It's a little bit out of town but well worth it for the beautiful view, fantastic food and comfortable surroundings.
They also do a brilliant high tea if booked in advance 😋🥪🍰🥂☕

For a totally unforgettable experience Go to St Kilda leave from Stein just 4 miles up the road! Well worth the early start and hours at sea for the wildlife alone. We advise having a read about the fascinating island before going....

For the best coffee around YURTea&coffee is in our opinion the place to go. Cosy for sitting in their funky yurt on a sheepskin by the fire to enjoy some homemade soup or cake to boot. Otherwise they offer takeaway to grab on the way past - ideal.
