Went on Saturday and loved it. Very informative tours, though I suspect that Ramona was sick of the sight of us by the time we did both the upstairs and downstairs yours :)

And had a fabulous anniversary meal at 1200 in the Orangery. With gluten and dairy intolerances to be handled, the chef was great and Luis the assistant restaurant manager was simply amazing. Looked after us brilliantly.

Will definitely be back again.

Sorry didn't finish review. As I said I am a frequent visitor to the Palace and grounds. I always use coffee shop adjacent to the east courtyard. While visiting yesterday with my friend we found the small discount for using your own travel mug had been removed. We were told quite bluntly that we were receiving the same amount of coffee as any one else and not usi g the take away cups did not qualify for a discount and never had. We did find a receipt from two weeks ago which showed that the discount did exist. Our point was that this was a step back for the Palace as we should all do our best in reducing waste where possible. The second Manager we spoke to was lovely. Perhaps the trustees should review their position??

User

My husband and myself were bought the afternoon tea in the Orangey as a gift, when we arrived the staff were very friendly, my husband being in a wheelchair, the staff showed us to the lift and meet us when we came out into the room and showed us to a table by the window. Another member of staff came and asked if we would like tea or coffee, we had black coffee and a latte with further drinks and a bottle of water during our visit, the sandwiches, scones and cakes came out, sandwiches four different fillings, scones were warm and 4 different cakes, we were asked if we would like more and bought them out, throughly enjoyed our afternoon, even if it was pushing a wheelchair around! My family and I fell in love with this place. i was personally awestruck by the lake, the cascade, and the gardens. If there's one place in europe i"d fancy going back to, it would be Oxfordshire and Blenheim.

User

I had my first ever visit to the palace on the 18/2/18 and I had a great time, finding the palace was easy. Parking wasn't difficult and there is ample space to be able to park. The walk up to entrance was a comfortable distance, the staff that greeted me I found to be smart and polite. The facilities were very clean and the choice of hot and cold beverages was acceptable. I had a nice walk round the grounds and was overwhelmed by the size and the beauty of the place. I enjoyed myself that much, I went back for a second visit on the 22/02/18.

User

First visit to Blenheim today and we were overwhelmed. What a superb place. The staff were great, conveniences clean and well stocked and the palace itself was remarkable.

My only critique is that the food is far too expensive, there could be more for children in the actual palace such as an activity of ‘find the item in each room’ like many stately homes have and also the price of the additional tours.

We booked through our Tesco vouchers and took pack up so paying an extra £20 ( 2 kids 2 adults) for the servants tour was acceptable to us. However if we had paid for everything (£63 entry, say £40 lunch, £40 or more for a couple of tours and more on drinks throughout the day) then it would suddenly become totally unachievable. Perhaps if the extra tours were slashed in price and the food was more reasonable then it’d be more family friendly. I appreciate that it costs a fortune to run/maintain/staff and renovate but even so, it’s too much if you’re on even a whiff of a budget. It’s a shame to not allow everyone to be able to enjoy such a wonderful place.

Blenheim Palace is my favourite palace! I've been a dozen times when I was on holiday in GB. The palace is great, visit 2 times the private part. The garden is amazing... I bought 2 times my rainhead in the shop, so it's a nice memory.

User

Had a great day with my 2 boys yesterday! I paid with Tesco Clubcard vouchers and was pleased to find out I could still upgrade to the annual pass. All the staff we encountered during the day were nice, friendly and very helpful. The grounds were fantastic and the map was easy to use and informative. The only downfall for me was the price of the food.

User

While the palace itself is truly stunning and the staff very helpful and polite, I was completely dismayed to see large scaffolding at a few places and vehicles parked on the Great Court. The view of the palace was completely blocked from the South Lawn thanks to a godawful stage! It is the third time I have experienced this at Blenheim Palace. As a pro photographer wanting to capture the beauty of the palace, I was extremely disappointed to say the least!

User

Its very impressive but don't come here if you have a dog as it's possibly one of the unfriendliest places for dogs and their owners that I have ever visited. They aren't allowed anywhere in the visitor experience areas except outside the pleasure grounds cafe. There is nowhere shady to park your car either. As we are on holiday and have to bring our dog wherever we go, this has marred our visit considerably.

User

We went for the Chinese New Year celebrations. We were extremely disappointed. The variety of food outlets consisted of a single caravan, and the celebrations of a couple of rather tatty dogs. With a huge queue for the food van, the only place we could find for food was the Orangery. Lovely food, but at a cost. I feel for those that had to pay for entry, again not cheap, and I’m sure a tremendous let down. Parking was also abysmal on a very muddy field.

This is not the first time we’ve been to an event at Blenheim and felt let down by the event organisation. Really, it’s time some capable event organisers are recruited .

User

We visited at Christmas and decided we would come again when the weather brightened up. We were very disappointed to find that it cost £32 for the two of us to go for a walk around the grounds, a VERY expensive walk.

However, I have just found out that although we made it clear to the person in the ticket booth that we thought it was very expensive, I have just been told that if we had donated our money at no extra cost, we would have recieved an ANNUAL pass! I realise it was on a poster but when you are queue who reads them and takes it in? Would have been nice for the person to tell us that we could do it...

That alone has put me off visiting again!

User

So so disappointed today. Queued up to get in, parking attendant was unhelpful. Chinese New Year event was an insult to the Chinese culture! I have never seen such tatty lions in a public display.

Queues everywhere. One food stall selling noodles and chips! Half a dozen or so Chinese lanterns as decoration. Couldn't even get cup of coffee as no seats anywhere.

Got stuck in the mud when I left (Thank you so much to the one chap in 4wd who towed me out of the mud).

So Blenheim - you blamed stallholders who let you down so who do you blame for the poor parking facilities?

Shame on you!

User

First time I've been to Blenheim Palace (2 hour drive) and for most part I was just stressed! Firstly, the parking chap sent me out the exit instead of to a designated parking zone which caused me toal havoc. Secondly the Chinese New Year Celebrations were just about average- one food stall (massive queue) and no other traders, decorations were almost non existent with exception to some tiny Chinese laterns. There was promise of authentic Chinese stalls etc These were no where to be found. That said, we did see one show and it was a good fun. Restaurants were so over crowded and the queuing system was a mess, paid £5 for a tiny sad looking gluten free ham s/w for my son as there was nothing else suitable for kids in the restaurant I was in..For £55 entry and £25 on food for kids (I didn't eat!!!) I expected a lot more from the website marketing . The palace and grounds itself are lush but we deliberately went for the Chinese Celebrations.....In short, great place to go but don't expect too much from some of the events and probs best to bring a picnic!

User

A group of friends and I were looking forward to having a bit of a special afternoon tea at the Orangery at Blenheim Palace (a location we know and love); however, despite the sandwiches, scones and cakes being very good, it was a very disappointing experience for the following reasons:

- no atmosphere, unless you count the to-ing and fro-ing of waitresses with expressed stress!;

- so short-staffed that there were delays with drinks which arrived tepid, and used crockery was not collected or was simply abandoned on a windowsill;

- an unattractively presented wooden table - no white table cloths in this establishment!

Altogether, we left feeling quite deflated, especially after having paid £26 per head. We have had much better experiences for far less elsewhere.

Blenheim Palace assured me some time ago that the catering company would contact me. I’m still waiting months later!!!......

User

We visited Blenheim for a special weekend away, specifically to see the advertised Chinese New Year event. The traffic was busy and there were thousands of people arriving for the wonderful extravaganza promised. Sadly the thought and effort put into this event was minimal. A tiny taste of China with a small dragon dance, some very quiet music that you couldn't view and a little king fu. There were no stalls and barely any decoration. There was one caravan selling food which made my partner ill. Two hours driving and over £100 wasted on overnight accommodation. I am very upset and annoyed that Blenheim can dupe people into attending when they had made no effort. They are used to organising events so why was this so poor? Just to get people through the doors and rake in a large profit it seems.

User

Thought it would be nice to walk around the beautiful grounds of Blenheim palace, the place is lovely and views were great. Unfortunately my experience today was not a good one. Having the triathlon going ahead whilst we walked round, (us knowing not to walk on the pavement due to the cycling) we didn't know where we were and not allowed, i was disgusted by how staff treated us, very rude, shouting at us not to go on the path when we were nowhere near it, one staff member calling us nasty names to Whoever they were speaking to through their walkie talkie. I have never experienced such ill

Mannered staff, really ruined the day

User

I feel utterly let down that Donald Trump will be visiting Blenheim this summer. He is the exact opposite of EVERYTHING Churchill stood for. What an insult to his memory.

We visit Blenheim most weekends and spend a lot of time in the restaurants etc. It’s just another thing that makes me not want to renew our family membership.

User

I believe Blenheim to be an entirely private organisation and, therefore, the decision to host Trump is not one driven by a requirement to maintain cordial political relationships, as the government must, but by a business decision that aligns Winston Churchill's birthplace and ancestral home with a person whose views are absolutely intolerable to me and many other British people.
