Irwin takes first-ever pole at 'Big Brands Bash'
Glenn Irwin topped the timings in today's R6 - Bennetts British Superbike Championship - Brands Hatch GP qualifying at Brands Hatch to take his first-ever BSB pole position. He'll be joined at the front of the grid tomorrow by Josh Brookes and Jake Dixon.
All three agreed that today's warm and sticky conditions made qualifying tough, and at one point Irwin said he didn't think he could maintain the momentum he'd built up in yes...terday's practice sessions.
"I really, really struggled earlier and I thought 'was yesterday just one of those days I clicked and today isn't?'. But we went back to what we knew, back to exactly how we rolled out yesterday morning and fine-tuned it," he said.
