Severe itchiness, scratching and hair loss can sometimes be put down to sarcoptic mange mites. These parasites can be spread very easily by contact with other animals – and unfortunately they can spread to humans as well! These mites can be prevented using regular treatment, which is much better than risking the misery that these mites can cause.

User

There is no doubt about it, roundworms are disgusting! As adults these large white worms will live in the small intestine and feed on the contents of your pet’s guts. Regular worming is very important to prevent these parasites so be sure to speak to us for further advice and treatments.

Although most spiders are harmless, one member of their family can cause health problems if not dealt with correctly - the tick! These parasites are often found in the long grass and as your pet brushes past, they attach themselves and start feeding. When it comes to treating these parasites, prevention is always best!

This little guinea pig had 2 lumps removed last week. She is now looking incredibly cute wearing a recovery shirt to stop her from getting to her wounds.

Notoedric mange in cats typically starts as crusty scaling around the ears leading to the cat becoming intensely itchy around the head and neck. This mange in cats is caused by the notoedric mite and it unfortunately can also pass to humans by close contact (picking up your cat or from lying on your lap!). Preventing it is the best policy, and using a regular spot on treatment is easiest way to do it!

Did you know that ticks can feed on your pet’s blood for up to 10 days at a time? These parasites not only cause irritation, but can transmit nasty diseases too. The best way to help stop this is by applying a preventative treatment. Call into the surgery to learn more!

Tapeworm segments can cause irritation and result in your dog or cat excessively licking around their rectum or scooting their bottom across the ground to try to alleviate the discomfort. If you see either of these signs, please speak to us as it could be a symptom of tapeworms or a problem with blocked anal glands.

I have now been reunited with my owners thank you everyone for sharing.

We took our cat here as an emergency. Brilliant team, everyone was so kind. Thank you all so much. She's doing really well

User

Took our monster in today( aka our cat, Arthur) for his first ever check up at Brelades in Bookham . Arthur is a big strong cat who will bite and scratch and previous vets haven’t been able to give him a proper examination. But Jemma was brilliant with him and was able to check his teeth and tummy etc and gave some good advice on different flea treatments as he wasn’t getting on with his other one. Thank you so much, Jemma! I feel really confident that I have found a good local veterinary surgery.

User

User

A miracle was performed on my beloved dog Connie tonight. She gave birth to 2 healthy pups earlier in the day... We knew something was wrong later so rushed her to Brelades about 7pm.... We were told there was possible a puppy still stuck. Mum too weak to push... So they performed an emergency c-section.... 3 more pups found. And bought back from brink of death by the team involved ... We're home now and fingers crossed they do well tonight and carry on getting stronger... Thank you thank you. We literally cannot thank you all enough...

User

Used to take my pets there but now Bryan and John have gone it's all about the money. My guinnea pig had a cyst on his chest and had been treated there all was good for a couple of days when he went downhill fast and was obviously suffering. It was 6.30, out of hours, but the vet told me she was already at the surgery treating a dog but still wanted £160 to see him. I had to let him suffer in a box until he passed away during the night.

User

charged me over £200 to look at my dog who had a lump. tried to put a huge bandage on it that fell off outside and charge me £60 for it. All about money and not about the animals

User

Very disappointed, lovely people but their expertise is limited to cats and dogs, our guinea pig had X-rays and unavoidable outcome but wish they had undertaken the first examination properly, they failed to look in his mouth and did not persevere. I would have liked to have determined the outcome sooner. Thankfully he didn’t suffer but nevertheless feel I now need to seek an alternative vet.

User

Useless wouldn't recommend to my enemy!! After seeing 3 different people here not one of them picked up their mistakes that they made on my dog!.. Now my dog has late stages of internal bleeding!.. & this place thinks they are getting a penny!✌️
