The room is on the top floor and is very quiet. The decor is lovely and the bathroom is fantastic. Facilities in the room are very good with good storage, plenty of room and a comprehensive minibar. There is also a tray with complementary carafe of gin and sherry, for those who enjoy a drink.

The breakfasts are very nice too and the choice is extensive. Great location.

Seriously can't rate this place enough!! Greeted by the receptionists and wished a happy birthday to my partner, upgraded our room and gave us 2 glasses of prosecco, asked if bags where needed to be taken up to our room but we where happy to take them as only 1 and on floor 1! Beautiful air con room with free standing bath and humoungous bed which was so comfy! Slept like kings! Black out curtains no noise and a lovely view! Dinner was delicious and at such a good price, had a surprise happy birthday from the staff which was sweet bar staff are AWESOME (polish lady and bar manager) we could have sat in their company all day, made me the nicest cocktail and iced latte and where generally funny and full of conversation!! Breakfast was insane! Cooked breakfast, cerial, toast, crossiant, juices, tea, coffee....the list goes on! Spa = incredible! Had 2 treatments! Loved every second of it. Hot tubs ate amazing! Such a clean and friendly hotel can't wait to go back. Some people might complain about the spa smelling funny on their reviews but you need to take into consideration it is in the basement and it is a spa they all smell musky, I've been to very expensive posh spas and they all smell the same. Xxxx

Just got back from a one night stay in this hotel. What a lovely place. Booked a double room which was fantastic and the bathroom was so clean and finished to perfection. Reception and bar staff were very friendly and easy to have a conversation with. Can not wait to come back and have another stay.

User

Just about to leave after a wonderful time. Couldn’t fault here. Our room was stunning, our food was delicious, service excellent and the spa was amazing! All in all a fabulous time and can’t wait to return.

I am shocked at the reviews I have just read as my best friend and I were there yesterday Friday 27th April for afternoon tea and a massage and access to all the facilities.

We were greeted on reception by Louise (we had Travelzoo Voucher, so bearing in mind we had not paid the full amount) we were taken to our table not made up but did not bother us as too busy chatting, our waitress and waiter were very attentive, I asked for 2 teabags in my second pot of tea, and it was not a problem.

Bacon jam/chutney with cheese scone just wow wow wow.

Little sandwich’s lush and a passion fruit slice again wow, strawberry 🍓 jam was also very good ( we could not eat all the goodies, so we cheeky asked if they could put them in the fridge and picked up after our spa time, again all done with a 😊).

Hot tub 10/10 Sauna 🧖‍♀️ 10/10 Hydrotherapy Pool 10/10 nomtime for 🏊‍♀️ Pool.

My massage was amazing thank you Olivia , the only thing my friends massage not as deep as mine so was slightly disappointed 😔

We would definitely go back.

Was impressed that there was ice cold water at every area.

Staff impeccable very impressed thank you all.

User

Fabulous bar. Did not stay at the hotel but we were able to enjoy a late drink in a nice peaceful environment - very nice and efficient bar staff too. Chap who served us with the full beard - thank you, we were made to feel very welcome and the guy who cleared our table asked if we wanted anything else - great service with smiles

User

1st class facilities but above all friendly staff and very relaxed atmosphere. i will book again!

User

We stayed overnight had a lovely room - we were on the corner of west street so it was noisy but it didn’t bother us as we can sleep through anything!! I would recommend and the spa is really nice as is the bar and restaurant

User

The hotel has everything one would want to relax. The pool.spa and sauna were delightful. The room was very nice with very good shower. Robes n slippers supplied. Nice large bed and lovely sea view. Good supply of nibbles . N fridge beverages. The bar area had light music which was nice. The breakfast was ample. Covering full English etc n cold buffet area. Coffee bit bitter. Nice polite waitress. The only let down was the booking out . Seemed bit mish mash. N wasn't asked if we enjoyed our stay. Bonus was car park half price every 24hrs. All in all enjoyable.

User

Lovely clean and friendly hotel in great location on the beach front. Room was bright and clean with a comfy bed! Lovely sea views and well stocked mini bar and refreshments. Only let down was we wasn’t allowed to use the spa facilities once we had checked out, which we were planning on spending a few hours there b4 heading home.

User

Lovely Spa, lovely friendly staff and a great experience. Thank you for a gorgeous afternoon !

I think when writing any review one should consider the pre-existing expectation of the author. Based on the reviews I read prior to booking as well as my own experience with hotels I never expect perfection. This hotel is a lovely haven for relaxation and unwinding. The seaview double room I had was lovely apart from the dirty glasses and silverware. The main lift did not work but there was another in service. The spa facilities were in full service. I would suggest that they use a bit of aromatherapy in the grotto and clean the tubs. Locationwise, there are soooo many options for shopping and eating. Overall, I would return and recommend it to any looking for a relaxing place to vacation.

User

Booked for our minimoon so only there 2 nights. Lovely room with great furnishings and a very comfy bed. We were surprised with two free glasses of champagne to celebrate, which was a nice touch.

Spa: very lovely and quirky. We both had back, shoulder and neck massages, which were excellent. Loved the heated beds.

We booked the private Grotto- felt like this was probably a waste of money as it only had a hot tub, seating area and a bottle of champagne. We spent more time in the communal spa area.

The room had shutters which looked great but let lots of light in so we did get to sleep in. We paid extra for breakfast but the cooked breakfast was disappointing; very small and the sausages seemed cheap.

Other than these issues, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the hotels location and discounted NCT parking.

User

We stayed this weekend for a family break.

Love the branding, furnishings/decor throughout, rooms were to a very high spec; spa was great and relaxing.

However some parts of the service let it down - at breakfast we kept asking for butter numerous times - came out 15 minutes later - so waited patiently before I could eat my French bread; we waited a long time to put our cooked order through; I think it is better to do a buffet cooked breakfast, should put packet butter out - so we can help ourselves - as they weren’t generous; the overall the service was slow. To check in and out i found very slow - although the chap who checked us in was friendly; at check out there was a big queue - our check out bill we were overcharged - which frustrates me - I managed to get this down almost by half- I think others had a similar experience - didn’t get an apology. This evening I got another bill emailed through for £12.50 from our mini bar. I called up the hotel and the lady said it was a vodka. We didn’t drink from the mini bar (as expensive) - she said the cleaner did an inventory. So frustrating they got this wrong. I’m waiting for them to take this off my bill. The cleaner can’t be great as my parents bedroom still had the previous comments card from the previous occupiers - and they were disappointed with the service!

Such a shame, as it could be great. They need more reception staff and check in and out needs to be speedy; more staff at breakfast or do the buffet style.

On a positive note we were impressed with the new Italian waiter for the dinner service - so friendly and funny! He even remembered my nieces name! Plus the food was amazing.

We would definitely go back to eat at the jetty restaurant but I’m not sure about staying again as the ‘sea view glipse’ Was on the Pryzm side and the music was banging until 4am - so if you want a restful weekend - don’t book as you won’t get sleep - and it was so hot in the rooms (no air con) but couldn’t open the windows as the noise. On the website should say the rooms are noisy on the sea view glimpse side - to manage expectations.

So I score 3 out of 5. Definitely room for improvement!

User

Booked the room last minute ,upon arrival the reception staff didn’t really seem interested , they checked us in didn’t advise us where our room was , didn’t tell us where the lift was and didn’t tell us about any of the other facilities within the hotel...!! , when we found our room it was at the back of the hotel overlooking the roof and extraction fans , upon entering the room we found it to be very very small and extremely hot and had been furnished with a double bunk Bed that basically filled the room !! , not a problem we thought we’ll switch on the air con to cool

The room down , we couldn’t find the air con remote or switches ( air con didn’t actually work) .... so it was a very uncomfortable night !! , the bathroom was very nicely decorated , however the shower was tiny and I mean tiny ...the in room drinks fridge had been switched off so we plugged it in and it still didn’t work .... when we visited the bar during the evening it was fairly busy , however there were plenty of bar staff working I placed my order and it seemed to confuse the barman that served me he then proceeded to pass my order onto another member of the bar staff that eventually brought my drinks to me then disappeared with my change , so I waited and then after a little while had to ask the first person that served me if I could have me change his again to a while and I was told something had grabbed his attention whilst trying Retrieve my change ???...the breakfast was ok albeit expensive for what it was .... all in all my stay was ok the hotel decor is very nice and I’d probably stay there again , however I think the staff require further training and the smaller rooms should be de cluttered , air conditioning , in room fridges etc needs to work correctly , and the reception staff need to be more attentive and friendly ....

The spa.... what a disappointment, I went at the weekend with my husband to use a day pass, it was dirty as were most robes, the hydrotherapy pool wasn’t working when I went a year ago I was looking forward to using it but guess what it still wasn’t working. The steam room and sauna weren’t on, I went to tell reception she turned on the steam room, the sauna never came on which I would of loved to use, but we just couldn’t be bothered as the whole spa experience was very poor so we just gave up and headed to the restaurant. The restaurant on the other hand was lovely, great staff and the food was delicious... thank god. It’s such a shame as a lot of money has clearly been spent on this hotel, but I wouldn’t go back because of the spa. We were given another two spa day passes as a gift from somebody but I don’t want to use them. If you’re going just for food I would recommend.

User

Stayed there 1 night out of 2 so far. Gorgeous hotel. So much potential great facilities and room however the level of service due to the staff being highly uninterested bordering on rude when had checked in. Husband tried to book a few extra things as is a majorly special weekend away for us. He was ignored then when checked in and raised it again was told couldn’t do anything about it. Rooms not made up to a great standard and several options in the spa weren’t working which was highly disappointing as mainly booked on this. Feeling quite deflated.

User

I went for afternoon tea on a Saturday afternoon, we waited an hour and a half for the sandwiches and cakes to come out, even though there was only one other table having afternoon tea

User

I visited for afternoon tea with my friend as I was given a gift card, we turned up around 15mins late due to traffic and they told us (even though we were 15mins late) the table was still not ready even though we booked... we then got seated 15mins later and the waiter didn’t come back over for 20mins... finally we got the afternoon tea and I was extremely disappointed.

The bread was stale, the tea was not even good quality tea (your standard twinnings), could have popped into Tesco’s and had a better quality tea myself for the price they charge. Then we were forgotten about by the waiter for another hour and my friend had to shout across the table to get anyone’s attention for the bill. Extremely disappointing and poor service!
