Brighton & Hove Civic Lodge No. 5223 Description

What is Freemasonry?
An established charitable institution based on ancient traditions, Freemasonry embraces ritual which encourages strong moral values, the benevolent activities of which benefit members and local, national and international communities.

Brighton & Hove Civic Lodge has the proud distinction of being involved in the Universities Scheme. This means that undergraduates at Universities located in and around Brighton & Hove will be most welcome to approach us about becoming Freemasons. Any graduates that were initiated while at Universities in other towns or cities are welcome to apply to become Joining Members if they come to live and /or work in Brighton, after leaving University.

We give special attention to our younger members and are keen to help them to develop their interest in Freemasonry and to derive the maximum enjoyment from their membership.

Interested in joining?
Should you be considering whether you would like to become a member, the first and most important step is to satisfy yourself that Freemasonry is an organisation you really want to join. One of the most common misconceptions about Freemasonry is that you have to be invited to join, nothing could be further from the truth. There is absolutely no reason why you should not ask to join.
