Bunches Of Happiness

So where are we all on Mother’s Day flowers? I’m starting to make plans.
My thinking is: pre-orders only because I buy to order and I don’t keep flowers sitting around except when they’re being conditioned for use. Also Spring Happiness in beautiful containers or rustic pots (not cheap nasty plastic) or nice (not twee) baskets so Mum doesn’t have to even worry about a vase or water. And some Handtied bunches/bouquets or Posies for those who want them. If you want a Spring Floral Wreath I’ll have some of those too. I don’t have photos to illustrate as yet but could put some together. ETA Oh and if you want one of my flower nests (below) they can be done too. Only maybe a bit smaller. This one is country house size 🤣

Way back in November Jennifer Campbell Photography had a couple of bunches of happiness. I didn’t realise at the time, but she posted this to Instagram. Her usual subjects are horses and country life, but just look at the amazing detail she captured of one of our blooms. Stunning work Jen. Argh where’s it gone. Sorry had to cut n stick to share.

So if you’ve read today’s Guardian newspaper you may have seen the article discussing how Brexit might impact the flower industry and how flowers could become the preserve of the rich. Well, What I’m being told is that if we leave with no deal we can expect prices of all imported fresh produce including flowers and food to rise due to import tax being imposed. We’re also being told that the current daily imports from Netherlands could well be delayed at ports which could impa...ct freshness and quality. Currently in the Single Market there are no import taxes and no customs checks. Spring Weddings and Mother’s Day on 31st March are the big unknowns as wholesalers can’t guarantee products. We definitely have some Bunches of Love to deliver today, but as always it's mainly about the Bunches of Happiness over here. Getting ready for another Flower Friday over here. I just love this part of the week because who knows what floral treasures I'll find at the wholesalers tomorrow. I'm usually there for ages in the cold room making my selections which won't surprise anyone who knows me 👀 It's not very time efficient, but I much prefer to actually see everything rather than order via the web shop where colours, size and quality can be harder to gauge. Roll on Thursday. It's like being 5yrs old in a sweetie shop. Woop Woop!!
