Burps Neonatal Department At Stoke Mandeville Hospital Description
BURPS (baby unit relatives and parent support) was set up in April 2000. BURPS Charity is made up of a group of parents and relatives that have had an ill or premature baby on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. . They understand the situation that parents find themselves in and try to give support and practical help. Regular coffee mornings and evenings are held as well as fundraising to aid in the supply of additional equipment and training for the Unit.

Our next meeting is the Christmas wrapping evening on Monday 17 December at 7pm in the Parentcraft room – this is where we wrap presents for gift bags for each baby on the unit at Christmas. All help most welcome!
Thank you to Liliana Nora da Silva and her partner Pedro who raised £170.54 from cake sales as part of the World Prematurity Day fundraising. This amount was then matched by a company donation from Imagination Technologies.
A massive thank you to everyone who came to this event and bought cakes and donated to the raffle, and to all the staff and parents who gave money on the unit or held fundraising events during the course of last week to mark World Prematurity Day.
You raised a staggering £1,627.78 for Burps plus a further £250 for the Bliss charity !!

Hi all, me and a friend are hoping to help less fortunate this Christmas. We looking to collect toiletries for a care home. If anyone would like to donate or help with the cause please let me know 👍🏼
Thank you to the Jolly Sportsman pub in Chesham for their ongoing support for Burps with £109.30 raised so far in collection tins on the bar.
Thank you also to Howdens Chesham for their donation of £400 to Burps in conjunction with sponsorship of the Jolly Sportsman pub football team!
Thank you very much to Ash Rattray and members of Princes Risborough Rugby Club for raising £943.69 for Burps. Ash grew his hair from April - November to raise money for the neonatal unit following his son's stay there. Well done!!
Please come along and support us and say hello to members of the neonatal team and Burps team to celebrate World Prematurity Day which is 17 November. There will be tea and cakes!
The neonatal team will also be selling raffle tickets - there are loads of great prizes so most people will be guaranteed to win!
