We have never had a bad experience at Cote and very much enjoy going there. The service and food has always been great, and the staff have been very friendly and accommodating with regard to personal tastes.

Reading some of the other reviews, if you had a bad experience, or something was not to your liking then I would suggest discussing it at the time with the management as I have always found the staff more than willing to listen and take appropriate action.

I have been fortunate enough to have eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world and believe me even they do not always get it right. What sorts the average from the good and great is how they manage customers concerns when things sometimes don't always go to plan.

User

We had a group booking for 8 people on a Saturday night ... and the service was excellent despite it being very very busy!

Very good food, great atmosphere, well priced wine - thank you

User

I would like to thank Sebastian and the whole team for a wonderful meal on the Celebration of my nieces Christening at Cote Brasserie in Wokingham. Sorting out 32 adults and a handful of children is a major challenge but I did not have to worry you had it all covered. Impeccable organisation, friendly, wonderful people and fantastic food. You guys are great.

User

Great food with a wide choice of menus. Attentive service and lively atmosphere. Went for an 18th birthday celebration and it was a good choice. Gluten free menu to choose from too. Highly recommend.

User

Great food , great atmosphere and great service not forgetting great gluten free menu 😃

User

Fantastic meal last night for my mums birthday. Food was delicious and service was excellent. Thank you - we’ll be back in a couple of weeks for my birthday :)

User

All our meals were different, arrived hot & prompt. It has a nice ambience, all the meals tasted great & were cooked as asked for. Staff were hospitable & polite when asked on ingredients checking & in general terms. It's our intention to return & on a purely personal note I found items salted & seasoned more than I like. So I will ensure on my next visit that I ask for mine to be kept plain.

User

A regular haunt for family celebrations and it never lets us down. Enormous choice (three menus offered to us on this occasion) and a reasonable wine list. The staff are never less than exemplary; friendly and attentive and happy to chat. Some on here have mentioned the time taken to wait for the food to arrive, but it shows the care they put into it and, after all, this isn't a fast food joint! On this occasion I had a fish soup, with rouille and croutons, that packed a punch of flavour, and steak au poivre - it would have benefitted from a bit of trimming prior to cooking - but it was cooked perfectly. The staff didn't mind presenting my mother with an 80th birthday cake in full song (we provided the cake) and everyone joined in. I like this place very much.

User

Went for the first time to Wokingham branch with my daughter and had the set lunch very good staff and good value only thing i dont like is 12half service charge which is a bit steep and i prefer to give my own tips if i have good service.

User

Never been here for lunch or dinner but the breakfast here is so delicious and there is something to cater for every appetite! Good service great quality food and at the right price point!

User

Lovely food, well cooked & served with a smile by our waiter yesterday evening. Not sure why the lights kept dimming (did this the last time we were dining) ? Definitely recommend to everyone.

User

Service was good but food was overpriced, tasteless and small portions. Doesn't help that I'm chef trained. To be fair the manager accepted our comments and removed food from the bill.

User

Food was ok - nothing mind blowing - little taste / flavours - small portions and expensive- I felt staff were rushing around which created an atmosphere of stress and panic !

Staff were very nice though !

Not sure if I'd return - had much better for same price in London city

User

Food was lovely. However, this chain (or perhaps only this branch) continues to add a 'discretionary' gratuity to the bill and not give the option on the payment machine to separate it out. This is just downright dishonest. The law has changed on mainland Europe and this is no longer legal. In the U.K. we are behind the curve. I was given the excuse that the machine isn't programmed to opt in or out. So apparently I am supposed to say up front I do not want you to add the 'optional' gratuity to my bill. I'll say it again, this is just dishonest. If it's optional then I should be asked to opt in. It should not be assumed that I can work out that by default I'm opting in. Nonsense. Actually, when I calculate a tip I usually go for 15% so if they hadn't annoyed me they would have got more.

User

A group of us want for someone's leaving meal. So we was told to pre-order our food which we did. But on the night they forgot my main meal. So had to want for it to be cooked. By the time it came out, the rest of the group had finished. They did take it off the bill and give the group a free drink.

User

We were baffled to be served glasses of orange juice half filled with ice! I asked the waitress why & she said "the orange juice is not refrigerated, so we have to do that or it will be at room temperature!"

"So you use long life orange juice?"

*looks embarrassed*

I would rather pay more & have decent orange juice Cote!

User

Very disappointing- I think they have too many diners on a sat night as our food had been left to 'keep warm' for too long so was lukewarm by the time it got to table- green salad was limp, chicken lukewarm- every persons chips weren't hot and the waitress mixed up two chicken orders and so one person didn't get her dinner- that was cooked then for her and came to her sizzling hot which is what we'd have all liked-

User

The starters were lovely - chicken liver pate and moules au cidre. I opted for a medium rare sirloin steak - it was so tough that I couldn't eat it but they replaced it willingly and the next one was perfect. My desert was a disappointment though - I chose crepe with caramelised banana and chantilly creme - unfortunately, the crepe appeared to be 'out of a packet', the banana was merely browned with a blowtorch; really disappointing. The service was fairly good, but they made several mistakes on the bill - good job we checked, saved ourselves about £25! i would go there again, but choose something different.

User

Service and food was ok. But didn't like the fact that the waitress added the optional 12.5% service charge onto the card machine without even asking first. It was only lunch for 2 people but it would have made me look stupid asking her to take it off. Should be an option on the machine and not automatically entered by the staff!
