Visited this restaurant for my sisters birthday . Food was genuinely great however one of the meals was lukewarm, we sent it back and had a new meal replaced quickly. They gave my sister a lovely birthday dessert. When the bill came they didn't charge for the dessert or the replaced meal.. made our day and we were well impressed with customer service... really recommend.

User

Our first visit to Cote Brasserie and as a Coeliac I was delighted with the well thought out Gluten Free menu and the high quality of the dishes that arrived. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the Valentine's special menu. Our visit was enhanced by the impeccable service received. We will return.

User

Never had a bad meal in there. Staff really nice too. Only ever been to Reading one though

User

Myself and my boyfriend visited tonight for nye unfortunately when getting our bread and butter the butter dish had chipped and the china from the dish had gone into the butter and my boyfriend then took a mouthful.. luckily it didn’t chip is tooth but was quite shocked, we informed our waiter of what happened and the manger came over straight away he couldn’t have been more apologetic and accommodating obviously these things can happen especially when busy and it’s how you handle it that counts.. he checked that he was ok brought us fresh bread and I could see him checking the bread prep area.. he then offered us free champagne and took some money off the bill which we weren’t expecting at all! He also kept checking on us and was just a genuinely nice person! Thanks for a great evening Ali and Chris

User

Love it here, never had a bad meal yet and I am quite fussy, staff are always very friendly and pleasant, if I'm going to Cote I know I'm in for good food and wine, the house wine is very drinkable.

User

I never review anywhere but I felt I needed too. It was just amazing! Our starters where late, we didn't say a word but they started making a fuss and got it sorted. The food and service here is second to non. The front of house manager (bloke with the great shirt) is phenomenal, you can see his staff respect him and customers love him too. Well done cote Reading.

User

Great staff and great food!

To start we had steak tartare & chicken parfait both were full of flavour and correctly seasoned. I highly recommend the parfait!

For main i had the fish stew which was served with fresh bread. The portion size was really good. The dish was full of seafood & also didnt disappoint.

Overall, the quality of the food was excellent.

User

First time visit for my girlfriends birthday... immediately made to feel welcome by the friendly staff. Our food was absolutely spot on, my first time trying a fish stew, which I've toyed with for a long time and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. Girlfriends steak was like butter and it made her birthday weekend.... highly recommended!!

User

First time here at cotè Brasserie and not disappointed the food was amazing staff were welcoming couldn't have asked for anything more. I had duck with cherry sauce which was amazing would recommend this as a main delicious will be back when next in Reading.

User

Excellent service, good food at a reasonable price!

User

Delicious Breakfast & bubbles next to the Christmas Tree. Couldnt fault the food or sevice.

Howvever the Christmas Tree was beautiful but dying🙁 had no water. Very sad. Told staff hope they gave ot water. We requested the table by tge tree! 🌲

User

Always fantastic food lovely friendly staff especially the manager

My boyfriend has been a regular on his own for months and they treat him like royalty so lovely we keep coming back it's our go to place

User

A great English breakfast with great coffee and super service.

User

We love the place, the food and staff are amazing, however the service charge on the bill has no option to be removed at time of paying by card (some card holders ask you Y/N would you like to include this?) I assumed this would be the same.

It did not ask this question and so we had to pay the full amount, I asked about this but told too late you have to ask to have removed from bill before payment is taken, this may not be acceptable to some as may not like to ask or not realise or in the same situation as us.

The food was great, the service excellent and the waiter remembered us!!!!!!

Would return but would be wary of service charge, would prefer to leave/give a tip to those of our choice and chosen amount, also this could be a hefty bill if a large party.

We will visit again, you have been warned!!!!! Prepare for our arrival!

User

Visited the Reading branch of Côte late morning yesterday (11:10am on Monday 20th Feb 2017) and it was quiet which I was happy with as it meant I was dealt with very quickly and smoothly with absolute professionalism.

Ordered my late breakfast (Vegetarian, with a flat white and cloudy apple juice) which came out in no time at all, it was fantastic and a hole.

Would recommend this place for breakfast and plan to come back soon 😇

User

Lovely to have a civilised breakfast/brunch after a very hectic week and to be waited on with a Mimosa and eggs Benedict and what seemed like a bottomless pot of tea. Also nice to see the waiter interacting with the little girl on the table next to mine thanks and sorry I didn't get the waiters name but he was the only one with a beard.

User

Had a really good fish pie and the glazed carrots were gorgeous. Others had fish cakes and pork belly, all went down well. Great staff and I would go 5* had they had other types of milk instead of just cows milk.

User

Brilliant service & Food - even if they say the kitchen is slow, just let them know it's a bit of an issue for you & watch the magic! Thanks guys you're a great team...just ask your front of house to be more discreet (with cleaning up - the pushing in of chairs and sweeping up can be an awful distraction )

User

Great venue for a large group - there were about 30 of us. But very noisy. Not my ideal restaurant for a meal à deux. Far too big and very crowded. Food was OK. French onion soup was very hot but not much flavour. I was a bit disappointed that my half chargrilled Breton chicken turned out to be two chicken legs! But on the plus side it was delicious. Had to ask for oil for the rocket as it was completely dry, and the fries were tepid and nothing special. However the tarte au citron was divine. As this purports to be a French brasserie, it would have been nice to have complimentary bread on the table. Staff were very helpful despite being really busy. Expensive for what it was but I had a very enjoyable evening with our group.
