Cadet Training Centre Frimley Park

About Cadet Training Centre Frimley Park

This is the official Facebook page for The Cadet Training Centre Frimley Park and is updated and maintained by the training team at CTC Frimley.

Cadet Training Centre Frimley Park Description

The Cadet Training Centre (CTC) Frimley Park in Surrey trains adult volunteers in the Army Cadet Force and the schools-based Combined Cadet Force (Army), helping new recruits understand the cadet movement's ethos and teaching them to train their cadets effectively and safely.

At CTC Frimley Park we also run the Master Cadet Course - and host the annual Champion Cadet Competition to find the best Army Cadet in the UK.

Additionally we are home to numerous conferences and specialist briefings each year.

Dates for courses, meetings and conferences can be found on Westminster.

CTC Frimley Park's aim is to act as the national centre of excellence for the cadet movement and thus be a source of inspiration and information. Our motto is Renovate Animos (Refresh the Spirit).

The staff at CTC are committed to ensuring that 'Frimley Park' continues to carry out its task as a national centre of excellence successfully; indeed this pivotal role in support of the cadet movement, one of the leading youth organisations in the country, is important to all of us. Students and visitors have told us that we have created a unique and stimulating enviroment, which increases their knowledge, provides inspiration and re-charges their spirit of service and dedication.

Each course is attended by experienced members of the cadet forces, who are here to act as Assistant Directing Staff and provide advice and assistance to students. All are selected for this important role because they have done well on a course here themselves.

More than 100, 000 adult and cadet students have passed through our doors since CTC was established in 1959.

Congratulations to Master Cadet Course 1803 who have all completed the APC Syllabus this week. The culmination of a number of years of hard work! Today the course ended with a final parade being inspected by Colonel Derek Hudson, ACOS Cadets who is also ending his post working with the cadets soon. Our thanks also go to the CFAVs who acted as ADS and Enemy to make the course happen.

User

And there we have it. Another master cadet course complete after one of the hottest weeks on record. Good job everyone!

Final attack orders in a balmy 30 degrees! Hopefully the temperature has dropped a bit by h-hour #mastercadet

We had a fantastic evening last night hosting some prominent figures from both the military and civilian worlds. All in order to spread the word in the local community about the good wok of the cadet forces and, in particular, the hard work and effort our volunteers put in to changing young peoples lives.

User

We had a visit this week from the senior cadets of Glasgow and Lanarkshire ACF while they were on annual camp at Longmoore. A presentation form the current champion cadet, introduction to master cadet and champion cadet, tour of the grounds and command tasks followed by a good thrashing over the obstacle course. Quite the action packed morning! Good effort and smiles all around. Well done!

Mess bills: Students will no longer be asked to pay mess bills by BACS in advance of their course. We now have the facility to accept card payments as well as cash onsite. If you've paid by BACS already your payment will still be accepted.

User

We need your suggestions! We may be opening a PRI shop on camp in the future as part of the ongoing site development. Our t-shirts, hoodies and port are always popular with students but what else (Frimley branded or not) would you like to see in stock?

User

As of 25th June we will no longer be using single use plastic cups on site. It is therefore suggested that students bring mugs or flasks with them to make use of tea and coffee facilities in camp.

User

Are you a current civil servant interested in a job at Frimley Park? We are recruiting for a full time bar steward - search vacancy reference 1567985 on the Civil Service Job gateway. Please do not comment on this post.

User

Congratulations to CSgt Robinson and CSgt Bichara who were awarded the CO’s coin for exceptional performance on this weeks master cadet course. All of the students this week worked so hard to battle through the rain and mud. Well done all!

User

Master Cadet 1801 in its final stages. Mostly smiley faces after what’s was an incredibly wet and muddy exercise!

User

Congratulations to Cdt RSM Jackson of The Royal County of Berkshire - Army Cadet Force this years winner of the Champion Cadet competition. He worked incredibly hard this week to come out on top of what was a very close competition. Thank you to all of the CFAV's and cadets who helped to run the competition this year and to The Cadet Kit Shop for sponsoring the winners trophy. Lastly, thank you and well done to Cdt RSM Duffield of Cleveland ACF who gave up his time to deliver a rousing speech yesterday evening at this years Champion Cadet dinner and hand over his title today.

User

All of the #championcadets have done incredibly well this week. All that remains now is weapon cleaning, drill practice and the final parade where the winner will be announced. Good luck to all of the competitors and remember; regardless of whether or not you win you are still the single cadet that has been chosen to represent your county. A huge achievement in itself.

User

Was such a good place to go and do a new course. The DS was brilliant could not fault them at all and the fun and larth you have.

User

The experience of CTC Frimley Park is a fantastic one; both courses I have done have been extremely professional and the course staff and everyone involved are helpful throughout. It's fantastic to be able to do it :)

User

The centre set in a love park of contemplation and calm. This is not the real tempo on the site. It is more like, a big wet dog swimming.

Lovable looking on top with rapid paddling paws beneath. Full of knowledgable instructers tasked with a single aim " to cram as much information into ACF cadets and instructors heads as is humanly possible in the shortest period time" I feel like Joe 90

User

Part way through my CCF Basic course - great facilities, great food, excellent instructors and a good all round course, would definitely recommend to other CCF staff thinking of commissioning :)

User

I've just finished my ALM course and thoroughly enjoyed it! Frimley Park is such a fantastic location; the staff are invariably helpful and pleasant throughout; accommodation pretty luxurious; and particular note must be mentioned of the food and Mess staff - second to none!

Though some of the days were long and the assessments stressful, the course teaches one so much that individual Sectors and Counties either can't or won't...I already feel more confident as a Detachment Commander thanks to the knowledge I've gained over the week.

Keep up the good work and I hope I'll be back soon on another course!

User

I did my CCF Basic Training here in August. A fantastic venue and a course run by some truly remarkable people. I had a fantastic time there, learning new and adding to previously learned skills.

Met some great people who were on the course and I am now back with my own platoon trying to pass on some of the skills i learned there to the cadets. It is a tough week only in so much as there is a lot crammed in and there is a lot to get through. Map and compass, assault course, night nav, harbour area, sentry duty, how to pack your kit, put up a basha etc etc, the list is endless.

If you are apprehensive about the basic course, don't be. I was and i needn't have been. There is no one shouting at you. It isn't that sort of course. Just really good information from people who really want to help you. As long as you a current with your weapon handling then all is good. I was tired at the end of the week, but so glad i'd done it. Do this course!

User

Having just finished my ccf basic course I can't emphasise enough how great a time I had! Staff so supportive, food amazing, banter spot on! Thank you all!

User

Having just completed CCF Basic 1803 at CTC Frimley Park I really cannot recommend highly enough. The staff, even the scary ones i.e. those who have preconceived ideas about CSM's & RSM's (who definitely aren't scary at all) are all brilliant. The delivery of the subject matter is excellent and aided/ demonstrated by assistants who are amazing and come full of knowledge and with bags of enthusiasm. Personally, I had such a brilliant time and had such a laugh. If anyone reading this is attending a future course and is apprehensive about doing so, please don't be. It really is awesome!!!

User

Had a fantastic week at CTC Frimley, for some it was a new experience for others it was revisiting past military memories. It’s hard to leave the green machine behind. Suffice to say that Green Team are on an anti-climax this week. Thank you to all the staff who work so hard to get students through the course.

User

Excellent ALM course accommodation excellent food excellent extremely impressive all round. Fantastic instructors amazing mess dinner. Awesome choreographed maniquin challenge to end.

User

Almost finished my final Frimley course (M Qual) with one day to go. This one was my favourite course so far - the other students were class an we had an awesome Squad Instructor who perfectly struck the balance between approachable and professional. As with all Frimley courses, there was a lot of interesting content and the activities were excellent. I have conpleted ALM, SAAI, an M Qual with the training team and would highly recommend all 3, especially M Qual :) thank-you CTC team!

AML 05/17. An amazing place! Different to your normal training locations! Treated like a king! Great instructors! Long course, with lots of information, it's not until after you realise how much you have learnt and how much more knowledgable you are. Can't wait to go back later on in the year.
