We're so pleased to have been awarded another 4 star rating again from the Tourist Board this year ¤śŖ¤Öī¤Öī 'The strengths of this park are its location, range of facilities and standards of cleanliness. There is no doubting that all the team are dedicated to providing a memorable guest experience and everyone I came into contact with had a ready smile and a willingness to be of assistance' said the inspector. www.callowtop.co.uk

WeŌĆÖve just got back and can honestly say itŌĆÖs been great, I have to say a massive 5star to Glenn your cleaner(cleaners) she was brilliant and very friendly ’┐Į first time camping and your site is brilliant and very welcoming ’┐Į we will definitely recommend your site to everyone who wants to camp ’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į

User

Well run immaculately clean site. Well stocked shop, fab pub and sports bar serving lovely reasonably priced food. The swimming pool and park are fabulous and there are plenty of spaces for kids to play. All the facilities were adequate and clean and although the site was full there wasnt more than a five minute wait for the showers (lots of people seem to think there should be more showers). All the staff that we encountered were lovely, polite helpful and cheerful!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back .... fabulous!!!

User

We stayed for 2 nights in June and found the site to be clean and well maintained. Shop is well stocked and reasonably priced; on site food (pizza, burgers etc) was adequate and also reasonably priced. The pool was clean and great for the family -although very busy due to the lovely weather. Amenities were very good for the price - toilet block and showers were good and clean.

The surrounding area was beautiful -lovely walks all around. Close to the tissington trail and a 30 minute walk into Ashbourne. You can hire bikes on site. There is a great play area for children and a pub garden for the adults within watching distance, which has been amazing over the last few gloriously sunny days!

We stayed in field 6. We had a generous pitch so had space away from other visitors. The pitch backed on to a field area so our girls ( 2 and 6) were able to play to their hearts content and that's what was the best bit about this campsite. We were lucky enough to stay when the weather was glorious so people were out of their tents and playing until quite late but at 11pm they all stopped and it quietened down. Noise didn't disturb us or our girls.

Our only small point for improvement was the pool - because it was so sunny, it was obviously popular and was very full. There was a sign indicating that inflatables would be banned should more than 20 people enter the pool, but this rule was not enforced and the pool became very full and a little dangerous, particularly when older children and teenagers were jumping onto huge rubber rings. Maybe a timing system could be in operation to prevent too many people entering at once?

This is a fabulous, family friendly site and we will return.

User

We stayed 5 nights in the motorhome. We all had a fantastic time nothing was too much trouble for the staff .My two boys had a great time with plenty of things to keep them occupied, the beautiful weather helped .I sat outside the Anchor Inn with the dogs one afternoon and not wanting to leave the dogs outside alone the kind waiter took my order for food and was most helpful .Good to see staff picking litter up all day We will definitely return

User

We are not regular campers and i thought the site was great with everything u need although would have been nice to have electric hook ups for tents. Stayed for 2 nights and weather was gorgeous. Great pool and park for my 4 yr old. No issues with the noise as 11pm curfew is reasonable. Remember your 20p for the showers! Another toilet block at back of the field would have been useful and I wonder if we stayed again we could choose our pitch?

User

Took my family there for my two girls first camping experience and they loved the whole thimg. They really enjoyed the swimming pool and park and the afternoon entertainment as well. For me I enjoy spending time with my Fiance and children and would recommend this site to any one I know or who would like to go camping. Five star site!

User

This is a fantastic camp site to stay at. Kids pool is great, shop has everything you need. Food is great at a good price. Staff are very friendly. Toilets, wash area and showers are really good. We will 100% be coming again!

User

Our second stay at Callow Top - camping in tent. Lovely location and nice site. Everything you could possibly want - shop, cafe bar, pub, outdoor pool all onsite. Shower set up is great - individual cubicles which are unisex meaning no massive queue in the ladies whilst the men's is virtually empty! 20p to use showers encourages people not to hog them for too long! Only criticism is that the toilets and washing up facilities are right near caravan pitches and too far from the camping fields where the people are staying that really need them!

User

Our first visit to your beautiful park was brilliant. The camping pitch was a generous size and not too far from the amenities. We did use the pool but it was very crowded and the only negative was a group of teenagers playing with a hard football that kept hitting us and others, maybe they should have been told to stop as the pool was very full. Despite this we will be back in the future.

User

On our last night here for the bank holiday weekend. Came with a 4,5 and 10 year old. Had a fantastic time. Great facilities, bar does takeaway food. Kids love the pool. Everyone is very friendly and accomodating. Everything you could need is on site. We personally havent found the noise an issue and will definitely be back in the summer holidays

User

I would just like to thank all the staff that have helped to make my stay at callow top so special this is my third visit to callow top but this time I visited as a group of 32 adults and children to celebrate my 40th birthday you accommodated 22 of us for Sunday dinner and kept my surprise cake in a nice cool place till it was needed again all my friends and family have had a fantastic long weekend away and some of us have already booked again for next you thanks again !

User

Great site. We've been coming here for 7 years now for weekends. We've stayed with tents, trailer tents and now a caravan. The site is clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly and always have a smile, nothing is too much trouble. The kids love the pool which is apparently warm, I've not been in for a couple of years. The showers are warm and powerful but make sure you have plenty of 20p. A family of 4 get through quite a few. The food is nice and reasonably priced. The shop is well stocked and also reasonably priced. The kids used to love the disco on a Saturday night and the park but they're getting a bit old for them now. Think the older kids would enjoy some WiFi but I'm happy there isn't any. Would be nice if you could take dogs in the pub and/or cafe. Fortunately we always seem to get good weather here so we eat on the green. Nice walk or cycle ride along the trail into lovely Ashbourne. Sudbury Hall and the museum of childhood isn't far away. Will be back soon for sure.

User

Great site with our two grandsons on their first time camping holiday. There was everything we required for our 2 day/night stay. The facilities were good, the boys loved the play area and the pools. The showers and toilets were good. Oh! and by the way they want to go again next summer.

User

Great place! Came with my husband and two boys aged nearly 2 and 4. Great facilities and it was all clean and looked after. My boys had a great time, loved the pool, park and generally being outside.

Only thing was that it was very busy and noisy at night which was due to bank holiday and gorgeous weather. Boys slept through and ear plugs were handy for me! Would definitely recommend.

User

Great campsite, family friendly is an understatement, itŌĆÖs great and our kids loved it, occasional afternoon entertainment for them in ArnoldŌĆÖs, cycling around and good playpark. Also games field and swimming pool are a winner to keep the kids entertained. And the tissington trail on ur doorstep for cycling or walking - brilliant (slight but steady incline to Thorpe ŌĆśthe old dogŌĆÖ and tissington village- be warned). Helpful staff, clean facilities, good pitch sizes. Fun had by all our family ’┐Į

User

Fantastic for camping, the amenities are excellent and very well maintained. The onsite restaurant and pub serve very good food (and beer) at reasonable prices. There's a play area for kids, bike hire, oh and heated outdoor pools. Right on the Tissington Trail and only a few miles from Ashbourne. Family campers can't go wrong, been camping there with my family for nearly 10 years and we're back again this year.

User

Amazing site. Fantastic location, great views, beautiful towns. The site was superb, great facilities and amazing warm showers. Both bars were brilliant, food was great. The shop and staff are all polite and attentive. The pool was fabulous also. 5 stars from us and we will most certainly be returning. Well done to all at Callow Top. The kids were most certainly impressed.

User

We had a lovely 3 night stay here at the weekend! We booked as was a short 20 minute drive from Alton Towers. We have 3 young children who loved the play area and spotting rabbits in the field we camped on! We found the toilets and showers clean and tidy and staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a lovely meal at the on-site pub on Saturday night and found the prices to be very reasonable. Thank you for a lovely stay!

User

This is our third stay here and I can safely say itŌĆÖs gone down since the 1st the play area could do with updating along with the showers we will still come back as itŌĆÖs a great friendly site staff are great could just do with a little money spending on it
