Exciting progress on #TheCanterburyJourney this week as the first new paving was laid down! Over the course of the project, the south Precincts will be re-landscaped with a lovely York Stone which will provide better access and create a more cohesive journey through the site. Keep up to date with the progress on our website >> https://goo.gl/bHjeES

Turner Contemporary's exhibition, Animals & Us, explores the relationship between humans and animals. Many of the tombs around the Cathedral feature animals at the foot of the effigy. Some are heraldic with carved lions and eagles, and some represent a favourite pet such as a lap dog. What other animals can you find on effigies around the Cathedral? #Beastoftheweek https://goo.gl/dQX6G8

great place to visit, full of history both good and bad, well worth a visit

User

Wonderful architecture and history at a significant religious epicentre. Lovely volunteers bring it all to life.

User

We have spent two nights staying in Canterbury and attended evensong on both evenings. It was absolutely lovely. A beautiful place.

User

Thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history of the Cathedral particularly in relation to the Australian connections, didn’t realise several Australians were involved in one way or another with it. What amazing history and the guides were all so helpful. The garden was worth visiting too, beautiful roses 🌹 apart from the functionality of the garden in providing herbs etc. Well worth a visit.

User

The most gorgeous place to celebrate my son's graduation. The staff are so friendly and helpful.

User

It was a great experience visiting the cathedral An knowing the history of the place. Amazing gratitude from the staff an easy excess to look around. It was wonderful place to visit to.........

User

Fantastic day. Wonderful building. History oozing from every crevice. I thought the guides were excellent. Polite and informative. Everyone respected the service that was taking place in the crypt.

Would recommend to everyone. Go and learn and enjoy

User

Chapel is amazing with so much to see and take in. The staff have fantastic knowledge and are only to happy to pass this on if asked. A must see..

User

Beautiful, stunning architecture, spiritually peaceful when not so busy, we went on a rainy day and was perfect........a must when visiting Canterbury

User

Amazing structure with great history. Great to see my daughter had her congregation in this historic cathedral. There is peace, serenity and an unknown power in the place that makes your mind so relaxing even when you are among thousands of audience.

User

Actually went to see the precincts gardens, which were open to the public this weekend. Very lovely walled gardens with beautiful cathedral as backdrop. The cathedral as usual lived up to expectation. So magnificent and the history interesting. The restoration which has taken place since we last visited is very evident and worthwhile. Well worth a visit!

User

A must-visit site. I knew I would enjoy myself, but my family and I were truly blown away by it this summer. I can't wait to return! Beautiful inside and out, and a lovely Evensong service as well.

User

A good place to worship our God Father. The story of Thomas Becket reminded us to focus on the Christian faith rather than the Church's architecture. And this is the reason why I chose to have Sunday service here.

I'm from Hong Kong, so it is very precious for me to visit Canterbury Cathedral. I will never forget what the Bible say and treasure the connection with other Christians. From time to time, I will visit your official webpage to listen the sermons in the future. May the love of Jesus Christ be with you always.

User

This is a beautiful Cathedral and takes a while to walk around inside and out.

Definitely a must see. Shame it was a bit noisy and scaffolding due to restoration when we were there.

User

I loved the Cathedral but didn’t like the scaffolding! I know that can’t be helped but........

User

Queue was long just to get inside the grounds

Was a busy bank holiday so would explain

User

Nice place for a visit with amazing history,, The reason it lost two stars is because of the price to get in, I know it costs a lot for the up-keep but a donation would be better than the set price.

User

Beautiful building, but so expensive to go in. Should God’s house charge such a high fee if a fee at all? I appreciate the up keep costs must be very high but.....

User

£12.50! To get in what s ripoff and it’s got scaffolding all over it so should be discounted too
