Hi Mark
I just wanted to say a massive thank you to you and all of the staff for making my birthday really special on Saturday. The food was amazing as usual, as was the service (no surprise there). I lost count of the amount of comments I had about the food and the wonderful view but a particularly big thank you goes to George for his entertainment and wit. He really knows how to work a crowd!! , Sam

What a super place. Fabulous window gallery over looking the Edgehill battlefield. Although we didn't eat the menu looked very appetizing. You can sit in and outside. Wonderful cosy window seats for those with just eyes for each other too or long tables for family get togethers. Dogs welcome too.

We recently had our wedding at the Castle and what a special day it was. We couldn't of asked for anything more from the biggest day of our lives. Mark and the team were everything you could imagine and also want, running our day. From the initial conversations with Mark, through to the preparation the days before the wedding and the wedding day itself, Mark, the waitering and bar staff and of course the chefs, were superb and we can't speak highly enough of them. The Castle is a unique and historical venue and I would highly recommend it to anyone planning either a special occasion, an overnight stay (the accommodation is amazing!) or just popping in for a meal, you won't be left disappointed! Thanks again to Mark and the team for making our wedding day something to remember for the rest of our lives!

User

We had a lovely meal over lunchtime today. A very warm welcome to us both and our Fox Terrier Monty by the bar manager and then very attentive waitress staff, i think they took a break before we could thank them. So ladies, thank you both.

Goats cheese, Ham hock salad, Confit of Duck and Beef Wellington we're absolutely fabulous. We just had the one dessert which was Lemon Panacotta and was lovely. Thanks all as this made a really nice end to my wife's birthday week.

Will be back soon.

Cheers

User

Took visiting family for an early dinner - lovely atmosphere, great service & delicious food. I would thoroughly recommend.

User

Took my teenage children there on Tuesday night for steak night. My daughter had the sirloin, my son the lemon sole and I had the most delicious, succulent fillet - medium, just pink enough. Superb food. Sat outdoors. Perfect 😊

User

The location and setting is fabulous with food and service to match watching the sun set in the background. Will return again soon a little gem.

User

Second time we've stayed, lovely hotel with charming rooms. Dinner was nice, although drinks were slightly on the expensive side however the room price was reasonable. Would definitely stay again.

User

Paul and I had a lovely Dinner with our friends Russ and Judy. Dinner was fab and the Eton Mess was to die for.

User

My husband, daughter, dog and I were made so welcome yesterday. Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely Jane and the team. Wonderful meal and even biscuits for our dog. Thank you

User

Me and my partner stayed last night in the Verney room .. absolutely amazing room food drinks the staff are all very lovely very helpful and friendly .we really enjoyed our stay can't wait to come back and bring the children with us in the warmer weather .

I would 100% recommend to everyone i know

User

Having stayed for 2 nights for daughters wedding can not fault any think. Mark and his staff where amazing nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend this venue for weddings or a short stay .

User

Fantastic room! Stayed in The Rupert, and it was so cool. Amenities are top notch. The restaurant is top notch. Had an amazing dish with duck and lentils that was to die for. Did I mention that the service was fantastic? Also, the view is absolutely incredible.

User

Fantastic lunch in the restaurant yesterday (May Bank Holiday - Monday) service exceptionally fast despite being very busy in the heatwave - Your Sirloin steak is definitely “to die for”. Managed to share a desert too, as filled up on the refreshing homemade lemonade....but well worth the last minute booking.... the views across the valley at Edgehill made for a perfect end to the holiday weekend... keep up the good work guys!

User

Excellent customer service and great food, highly recommend this place to steak lovers and for those who love a quiet day with over a glass of wine, a perfect cold refreshing pint.

User

Delicious food, decent wine and excellent service. One of my favourite places to eat.

User

Booked a room for date night on 14th April. Room, 3 course meal, bottle of prosecco ( swapped for a bottle of red, without any qualms), and breakfast next morning all for £140. I cannot recommend this highly enough. The kings room was great, and the food was incredible. Sharing meat platter to start, every item was amazing, particularly the chicken liver parfait. Main was the best burger I have ever had and my wife had fillet steak, which she said was cooked to perfection. Dessert was just as good, although we were incredibly full by this point! All staff were friendly and helpful without being overbearing or intrusive. We both loved every second of it and can't wait to come back. Many thanks to Mark and team.

User

Beautiful castle setting. We arrived an hour before they opened and was still invited in for a coffee. We never had the food experience there but the staff were amazingly friendly. I'm planning to book a table to go back in the future. Definitely well worth a visit.

User

Absolutely fantastic pub, treated my husband for his birthday booked a table for 10 of us service was excellent staff were friendly warm and welcoming the food was delicious Mr Higgs has done an amazing job. Thanks all .

User

Booked for Mothers Day... so a very important day for me... we weren’t told when booking that it was a set menu (vastly overpriced) and when I asked about a children’s menu they told me yes they do have one... what they failed to mention was that it consisted of two options, pasta or sausage at £10 each (yes really) the service was appalling with staff having no personality. I sent my dessert back as it was just warm, they clearly reheated it in the microwave and I still couldn’t eat it and yet they charged us for it. The table was laid out funny so not exactly conducive to a family meal. We have visited before and it was great, hence our return but we won’t be going again after spending over £100 for a mediocre meal. If we’d been told it was a set menu we wouldn’t have booked.
