Thank you to Pony Patch in Glossop for giving our Belarusian children a lovely time this morning.

Our Solihull teenagers have had a busy first week visiting the seaside at Barry Island, Severn Valley railway, Lazer Quest and a windy day sailing at Shustoke.

Coming together to celebrate Ludmilla Nazina's 70th Birthday are the teenagers visiting our Endon and Stoke group this summer and all the group's host families. Ludmilla has been coming with the teenagers for over 20 years so she has helped hundreds of young people to enjoy a wonderful holiday, which for some of them has proved life-changing.

Visiting Tamworth Castle are our children staying with families in our Sfafford group. Highlights of their visit so far have included pony riding and a day at The Regent Theatre in Stoke on Trent.

10 great volunteers headed off to Belarus from Manchester Airport this morning - some to work at Ptich Sanatorium and some at Zhuravichi Boarding Home. We wish them all the best of luck and know they will provide a memorable holiday for all the children and young people they support.

A great group of teenagers, all in remission from cancer, are enjoying a holiday in Solihull. This was taken in Bruton park on their first evening.

Our Mums and children staying in New Mills and Glossop finished a great day today with a delicious meal at The Beehive in Whitfield. They did some lovely painting at the Pot Painting Shed and enjoyed games, crafts and lunch laid on by Glossop W.I at the Labour Club. Thank you very much for the generous support of all concerned!

The children and their mums staying in New Mills are settling in happily and met all their host families today. They are spending their first week staying together in the Torrs Apartments, and then they will move to families in New Mills and Glossop. Lovely to have a baby in the group this year!

Our groups of Belarusian children all arrived safely at Manchester Airport today. All the host families will have been looking forward to meeting them and Molly - daughter of Glossop & New Mills Co-ordinator Helena Gannon - made a 'Welcome Belarushens' card. And when she met the children this afternoon she said they were 'really cool'

Calling All Walkers! We are organising a sponsored walk to summit Mount Snowdon on Saturday 1st September to raise much needed funds for the children we support in Belarus. If you would like to take part or want more information please message us through facebook. Or if you are able to make a donation and sponsor our volunteers, no matter how big or small, as every little helps, your support would be massively appreciated, please visit our justgiving page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/cc p-snowdon-walk

Excitement is mounting, here and in Belarus, as we prepare for the arrival of the children this weekend. These are the children who came to Glossop last summer with their mums.

Not long until Mike Gannon's Snowdon Horseshoe Challenge! Would be great if you can sponsor him as Vodafone are doubling his efforts, so your money will stretch even further, giving a wonderful holiday to young children in remission from cancer coming to Glossop and New Mills. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/CC P-HORSESHOE-2018

Gerald Hirst is the Manager of our lovely shop in Crook, Co Durham. He is the life and soul, not just of the shop but of the town, where he knows every other person who walks down the High Street. The shop is a very friendly environment, loved by customers and volunteers alike. Tina is one of the most enthusiastic members of the team.

We had a very successful stall at Greater Manchester CND's Peace and Craft Fair last weekend and this Saturday we will be at the One World Festival in New MIlls

By the start of 2018, EDF had accumulated a debt of $71.5 billion, and AREVA was $11.7 billion in debt. By June 2018, Flamanville was seven years behind schedule and costs have now more than tripled.
As French Renaissance writer, François Rabelais, said more than four centuries ago, “Bring down the curtain, the farce is over.”
