Went today with my son! Had a fantastic time. Chose to go today as some schools hadn’t broken up yet and it was a brilliant idea. Longest que time was about 15 mins for the gruffalo ride. (Did miss bubble works though) My son loved the gruffalo groove show too! Very helpful staff when I asked for some directions etc and all in all a well enjoyed now. Now at home with feet up enjoying a nice glass of bubbly and my son is sparko in bed.

We went there for a couple of days and we had a fantastic experience . The hotel was good , staff was nice and friendly, food was good and the park had plenty of shows and rides to entertain, despite the wheater as was raining, children were quite pleased, we went on most of the rides twice, we don't anything to complain about, It's a shame I can't give anymore stars, I would give it 10 stars .

We went on the last week June and I was worried after reading some of the reviews and especially as we were traveling from Ireland but have to say we had the best holiday ever from the time we arrived until we left the hotel staff to the park staff were just so nice and helpful and would recommend staying over in the hotel to visit this wonderful place and will differently return again

User

We have just come back from an amazing stay for my sons 8th birthday! The safari hotel was fantastic and being able to look over and see giraffes and zebras from our hotel room was wonderful. Both my children throughly enjoyed the early park access and we took advantage of being able to ride the gruffalo twice and seastorm 4 times! Thank you to every member of staff we encountered over our stay.

User

We had the most amazing time for my sons birthday, was worried about cuing during the summer holidays but longest we waited was 30mins. Park is kept clean and staff were helpful and friendly. Hotel was spot on, we stayed in safari standard room which we all loved. I’d booked the restaurant before our visit and that was really lovely in my opinion, lots to choose from (buffet one)

My only negative was that the traffic into the park took us 22mins to travel 0.8 miles so was very slow but appreciate that its peak season and not much you can do. And my son (who’s 2) waited in line to see the gruffalo meet and greet (gruffalo was reason for our visit) he had a lovely picture with him and went to kiss him, the lady was a bit short with him saying being careful there, as though he had pulled at him which left him tearful as he only wanted to give him a kiss. But they are just minimal things, hoping to visiting again when my oldest is tall enough for tiger rock

We had an amazing time at chessington this weekend. I was a bit worried about the reviews and do agree most of the staff do seem quite young, but then I am getting older so find it difficult to judge people’s ages. My partner did wait almost 20 minutes at a hot dog stand to be told by someone in the queue that they weren’t doing food which was a little disappointing but other than that we had an amazing time. Despite the staff being young they were very helpful and made a big effort to be as helpful as they could be, although I think perhaps they need training in questions outside their field perhaps?! For example I asked a girl on a hot dog stand if she took cards she said no so I asked her if there was a cash point at the theme park and she didn’t know, just a note to management to perhaps train staff in preparation for questions like this as she did look embarrassed she didn’t know. We went just before the summer holidays and found the park busy but not too busy. We have a toddler so the queues for rides were very short which was great as there is no way she would have waited the 40 minutes that some of the older rides were. We went glamping which was brilliant, the entertainment was great and we had such a lovely time. Food at the outpost was ok, breakfast was a little cold but was fine for our daughter so I can’t complain too much. Overall we would definitely recommend it and would definitely be back again. So much to do and great value for money x

We booked to stay for 2 days over the 27th & 28th of July staying at the Aztec hotel. We turned up on the 27th to be told the park was closed due to the issue with Thames water. Obviously we were all very disappointed and annoyed after a 4hr journey , but the staff we spoke to were very informative and understanding. We ended up going to legoland for the afternoon which was a unexpected treat for the kids and luckily the hotel and restaurants were fully operational by the evening so we came back to check in and to eat.

The park reopened on day 2 and again although there were on-going water issues with many toilets being closed, we all had a fantastic day and managed to get on all the rides we wanted!

Can't praise all the staff enough for their hard work and professional manner in what was a very difficult situation for them. We didn't let anything spoil our fun and it ended up being one of our best trips!

Thankyou Chessington!

Can't wait to rebook for next year!

User

Not sure where to begin... our whole experience was amazing! Every staff member went above and beyond to make our experience as wonderful as it was. Our daughter has had the best 6th birthday a girl could ask for - from staff helping her and her sister collect pop badges (including 2 special birthday ones!) to finding her Millie Rabbit and Moo Cow that she had left in the bunk beds, only then to remember 6 hours after check out

A special thank you to the young lady on reception (sorry I am useless with names) who rang round to help us find Millie and Moo - I think we would have had one distraught 6 year old if we hadn’t found them! And to the young man who was part of the entertainment in The Ranger’s Club in the evening - she was beside herself to see ‘The Man From the Show’ out by the emoji tent this afternoon!

Thank you to everyone that helped make our stay so special! We will definitely be back soon!

User

Just got back from a fantastic couple of days here with my husband and my soon to be 9yr old daughter. we stayed at the safari hotel - we were pleasantly surprised when we got there...it was amazing! The room was also just as brilliant with a separate 'bedroom' area for my daughter (which she loved). The queuing times for the rides were really good. We were able to go on the rides more than once. I will definitely be recommending to my friends and we are already looking at coming back soon.

Thank you.

User

Fantastic day out at chessington for my twins age 6 and eldest age 10. My eldest loved tiger 🐯 rock and enjoyed her day! The youngest managed to get on to lots of rides accompanied so chessington is perfect for the over 5 age range. Lots to do and we all enjoyed the gruffalo ride and the safari ride was an amazing experience!!! Plenty of animals to see and a wide range of shows to watch while your eating lunch. Perfect day out!!! The only negative thing which isn't chessington fault is customers nor smoking in designated areas instead smoking everywhere- clearly hiding from the park attendants. Definitely coming back!!!

User

Been 3 times now! Not this year but saving to hopefully book for next year! We have done Christmas sleepover with Santa was lovely . We done 1 day get second day free and stayed at the hotel! on one of them we was lucky enough to get up graded free of charge, to a themed room which was super, if you are able to afford it I would recommend!

User

We went yesterday as a family of 3, the staff were very helpful as we had to change the date of our original booking fee! And the longest wait time was 5 minutes! We were able to do every ride and attraction there and our 4 year old daughter loved it! I would say though that the buffet place (which we prebooked and paid for as was cheaper) wasn’t all that great! If you love pizza then it is fantastic, but the only pasta dish was bolognese and the salad bar was poor! Other than that, it was a really lovely day and we will be going again! :)

User

Took our kids here on 8.8.18 for a day out started with the zoo and worked our way out to hocus pocus hall which the kids both liked and were a little scared of.. from there started to look into rides all in all managed about 4 rides the safari ride and seeing the gruffelo.. sadly was more difficult to get our daughter on some of the rides as she is 5 and she only just about went over 1m line. And of course super long lines so kids got bored very quickly but all in all it was a pretty good day I'd suggest going during a less busy period so your more likely to get on plenty of rides quicker but all in all a good day also staff were very helpful and friendly when needing help or directions.

User

Went for a quick break at the start of the summer holidays. It was good to get away with the family but there were so many downsides to the visit. Signage - appalling but liked the app. Staff - we only found 2 friendly staff! One of those was when we had to evacuate the hotel. Nobody smiles and we felt like it was us who always had to get out of the way of staff when we were walking around the site. Not even a hello or excuse me! And what is it with what I suspect to be managers walking around with litter picking devices? Is that to make them look important?? I didn't see them pick up a piece of litter all day despite seeing bits around the site. Let's just say Customer Service 0/5. The pool was good but need to book and changing rooms smelt. The food..we opted for the Temple Restaurant buffet...wish we had had a takeaway instead from somewhere else. Very poor quality of food and an abysmal selection of healthy options. My son had to have some soggy broccoli and carrots the only vegetables there. Mind you it was better than the dried up raw carrot I had from the salad bar. Not sure we would go back.

User

We took our kids here yesterday 28/7/18 not great hardly any toilets working new attraction an absolute joke i understand safety calls with wind what i dont get is not able to get out of there without navigating 3adults 7kids back though over a hundred people to get out !! So had to wait for the ride an hour and a half and the food well we used the hot dog stand 50 for all of us to eat hot dogs and nachos ( we couldnt eat) that were so stale i was sick (ty chessington ) complained and did get tickets reinstated but that doesnt cover travel costs does it ? Not sure about coming bk to be honest we will see ....

User

I went with my nearly 5 year old and 10 year old. The first I noticed all the rides had to have a adult if the child is under 110cm. Getting in was not clearly signed us and some others who had tickets were queueing in the wtong line but then the Park is not sign posted very good like the exits. We used the toilets near the main gift shop and they didn't flush but there was no cleaner about to tell. My children enjoyed but the pay stalls get me we paid enough to get in and still you try to get more money from people.

User

Grateful as always for the residents tickets but please sort the lower car park out. My kids queued for an hour and a half to leave and take a left turn. There needs to be two filter lanes within the car park to allow cars to exit both left and right. I saw someone had posted about this on a local FB page a couple of weeks ago too so it's obviously a regular occurrence and needs sorting. They also experienced issues in the eatery and had a very long wait as staff didn't seem to know what they were doing. Bearing in mind the four hour group interviews you put prospective employees through before they even get offered a job, they really should know what they're doing and be trained properly and management should be around to help them instead of being conspicuous by their absence. Also, instead of renaming tired old rides, put some new ones in.

User

Worst holiday ever . Staff totally unhelpful. Charged premium room rate and allocated wrong lower rate room. Room Not changed due to “ being full” then charged 3 times for room and told payment is not on their system yet so they can’t do anything about refunding money even though they were shown proof !!! Told they wouldn’t do anything until there payment man was in the next day leaving us penniless and overdrawn.Fraud company rang!!

Continued:-

One week later still not sorted out money fiasco or even an apology!!!!

User

We arrived today to be given a room with no electric switches that work - yes we arrived at 9.30 but did not expect to have to be complaining and changing rooms at 10.30 at night with two children aged 7 and 5. This is the second bad experience but we thought that last years was a one off, clearly not. It’s a lovely hotel but the service is shocking. I don’t expect to have to change rooms every time I visit. I got offered one fast pass as compensation which is unacceptable I’d of much rather had a room that’s fit for service. I asked about speaking to the hotel manager who doesn’t start till 10 tomorrow and finishes at 6 so if I do spend time talking to him I will loose time from our day - very disappointed and won’t ever recommend this hotel to anyone again. I will happily update our outcome tomorrow morning but am not feeling hopeful
