User

Well what can I say but the staff were welcoming and very friendly. As for for the food five stars all round one of the best meals I have had in while, just the right amount of time between courses and not rushed. So will be visiting again.

User

We went for our boxing day meal which we had pre ordered, 2 of the party had the rib or beef and 1 had the turkey all the food was perfectly cooked and very delicious and waitress was friendly and polite. There was a bit of confusion at the end with our bill which we thought we had pre paid by cheque but turned out the cheque hadn't been received. The new manger was really apologetic and as a good will gesture took a bottle of wine off the bill which was very kind of him couldn't fault his service even with all the confusion! Would definitely come here again food was lovely! ☆☆☆☆☆

User

Very enjoyable lunch and will definitely return and try the evening menu

User

Scrumptious gawjus food celebrated my son 48th Birthday treat to say spoilt for choice menu is an understatement.. Super friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, and best of all No music so you could just chat laugh and eat..will be back...

User

Had a lovely meal yesterday, great food and service. Nice Christmassy atmosphere and tables festively decorated. Also pleased it wasn’t just the Christmas menu, for those of us who didn’t want a roast they were happy to serve a great variety. Would definitely recommend 😊

User

A really good gluten free menu, finally in a chain pub restaurant.

We visited at lunchtime and had a lovely meal, with lovely staff and Well cooked food. Another plus was using Tesco Clubcard vouchers , making it a very good value meal. ( Watch out for the exclusions on Clubcard vouchers)

We will definitely be back.

User

We've been here many times and eaten. Friendly staff, great food. The house wine red is a must!

We visited again for Valentine's meal, welcome with a glass of processco. We ordered bubble and squeak with chozzo, then sea bass risotto. Then after a sharing dessert cake out.

The starter was lovely, risotto not as tasty as usual like something was missing. It was advertised that sorbet would come out after starter but it it never came. We didn't order what dessert we got never the less it was good. Over all a lovely evening the staff fabulous but a little attention to detail would be great

User

We have had Sunday roast here before and it has been lovely. Today We visited again and the beef was not good! Full of horrible bits! Myself and my partner have both had stomach aches since!!! Very disappointed. Staff excellent as usual but rushed off their feet so waited a long time between courses etc.

User

Visited yesterday for father's day.. one of the staff managed to rearrange and give us a table at last minute. Food was great and staff really welcoming and friendly throughout our lunch. Would be happy to visit again! Thank you! :)

User

Thank you to the staff who all made our special family celebration today a lovely occasion. They really couldn’t have been more attentive or helpful. Amazing, thank you all.

User

Roast dinner was very nice pudding was yummy...

User

Really liked the food, the starters butchers block i had as my main for lunch. Dessert was good too. Definatly recommend that. Service was slow as we were intially at the bar tables waiting for a table, then we were offered that we could stay where we were to eat, however we were not told if we did then we needed to order at the bar. So each time staff walked by us we kinda felt ignored. But we eventually caught the waitresses attention and she explained. Staff were really nice apart from the miscommunication. Food was great. Cosy little place. Lots and lots of empty tables saying reserved, being that we were there for 2 hours they could have either seated us or maybe explained they are not using them as they are short staffed? But we will return it didnt spoil our visit, just hopefully management will pick up on the communication issue.

User

Had a lovely meal last night! My husband is very fussy about his steak but his was done just perfect! I had rib of beef it was very nice but not many of the sweet pot fries! Desserts were nice also and BOGOF deal so a great night all round! Jayne the waitress was very nice and made us feel welcome and looked after us perfectly!

User

Based on an (almost) perfect Christmas meal, I got the birthday treat meal out last night - April 3rd.

Okay, so I had a stinking cold, but hoped I could at least a little!

Bit quiet at 7pm but good. Polite, attentive service with follow-ups and didn’t feel rushed at all throughout the evening.

Compared to other restaurants we found portions were much more generous (ticks my box).

Starter - paté had nice big toasted bloomer; bubble & squeak had lots of hollandaise.

Main - wife’s lamb was the size of half a leg; my fillet steak + surf loaded the plate.

Desserts - wife chanced the black forest sundae and was beaten; I had the most generous cheese board in years.

This gets 4 stars : the fillet wasn’t a full fillet or was badly butchered as I had at least half that was gristle???

It had been waiting at the pass too long as everything was cold in about 5 minutes.

User

We were warmly welcomed and the staff very friendly. The drinks menu was really good although we were driving so couldn't take advantage. The food menu looked really quite impressive so we eventually choose but to our disappointment on a Wednesday evening after the waitress putting our order through the till were told sorry no prawns, Atlantic or king prawn so that was our first choice and 2nd choice then we tried ordering 2 sirloin to be told they only had 1 left lol. Bit of a shame to be honest as we'd tried this pub/restaurant as a birthday treat. To be honest we'd probably not return. Not overly great value either. Shame because it looks lovely inside and out.

User

We have been there in past and it’s been amazing. Our food has been lovely and the staff are friendly.

However we went out for Valentine’s Day and wasn’t happy like last time. We had a Valentine’s Day menu and all together we were there for 1 hour 15 minutes after that we got rushed off our table for someone else. They got our food muddled up and wasn’t as nice. The only thing that turned it around was our lovely waitress she was very friendly and easy to talk to and made us laugh and checked that we we all right.

User

We had date night there on Saturday. Service was good. Food was scrummy but felt a little rushed. No sooner had one course been finished with the next one arrived. Stomach had trouble to keep up. Slow down. Life’s not for rushing.

User

Food was nice staff were friendly but £5 a pint of larger is a bit much we were recommended there by a friend only my husband and I went we had a meal each something simple no starters no dessert and 1 pint each and the bill was £50

User

Been here lots of times, It's very hit and miss, It's not very well organised as a restaurant, A few weeks ago My husband and I were told at 8.40pm on a Monday evening that the kitchen was closed, when the website clearly states they serve food until 10pm. The food (when we can order some!) is generally good though. As I said, the restaurant needs organising, last night it took us 2 1/2 hours to have a main course and 2 drinks, We waited an hour for our mains, and when they came they were wrong (this was, in fairness corrected quickly) then our children's desserts took 1/2 hour to come after ordering - these were taken off the bill, but we were clearly forgotten about, and 2 children's desserts for a whole host of issues was hardly, in my view a decent gesture. Real shame, as this really is a nice pub.
