We are a business passionately committed to providing you with products which are uniquely hand crafted to the highest standards, linked with a service which is friendly and informed. This website is intended to maintain that personal service and if you wish, at any stage of your browsing, to call us for help, you are most welcome to do so.

Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Old Luxters is home to 'Chiltern Valley Wines', its Vineyard, Winery, Old Luxters Brewery, Liqueur making facilities and cellar shop. Our first vines were planted in 1982 on the slopes of the Chiltern Hills, surrounded by beech woodland and overlooking the beautiful Hambleden Valley near Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, UK.

Our modern production, bottling and labelling facilities, cellar shop and wine vats are all housed in traditional farm buildings.

Since our first harvest in 1984, we have produced an increasing range of fine, award-winning English wines to delight the eye and excite the palate. With scores of awards and commendations in blind-tasted national and international competitions, our wines have gained an enviable reputation for quality both here and abroad.

As a truly independent brewery, we are proud to have revived the tradition of farm-brewed, full mash, Real Ales using wooden-clad mash tun, copper, liquor and fermentation vessels. We combine tradition with the very latest technology in sterility and temperature control.

The Master Brewer at Old Luxters blends only the finest English malted barley (pale, crystal and chocolate malts) to gain the flavour, fullness and depth of colour in our Ales, seasoned with choice English hops for aroma and bitterness.

What a fabulous day we spent yesterday! The tour was both informative and enjoyable, the tasting was great and the blood orange liqueur and the ginger wine being my favourites. We stayed for a lovely evening meal and then slept in the barn room. The breakfast was brilliant and all the staff we met were so friendly, would recommend this to anyone.

User

Went for the tour only. Very informative guide and a very good history of how far they have come. Tasted a variety of wines, beers and spirits, all very good. Spent over £100 in their gift shop. Don't drive if doing the tour, quite a few people walking out a bit wobbly after the tasting session. Sat in a beautiful, peaceful courtyard after and had one of their beers, well worth a visit.

User

We had a wonderful time at this lovely venue. The tour was informative and very tasty and the shop was reasonably priced allowing for stocking up

User

We had a lovely time at the brewery. The tour was excellently done by Pat the guide. The bedroom was very nice, overlooked the vineyard.Everything you needed was there. The breakfast was very nice, plenty to choice from.Couldnt have asked for a better time 😀.The tour itself was well worth the 2or so hours and the tasting was better than I had anticipated.Well worth the visit.

User

Visited for the tour and tasting, our guide was brilliant and very knowledgeable. The wine wasn’t quite our taste but we walked away having bought liquor, ale, cheese and pate. Overall a very enjoyable experience!

User

This was a wedding present from my wife’s work. What a great place. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. Bev quickly checked us into our B&B room that was spacious and well appointed. Then we went on to an informative and fun tour with Sean who was as amusing as he was knowledgeable.

This was followed with a lovely dinner in the house and a relaxed evening. Breakfast the next morning was perfect - we highly recommend the Farmhouse Breakfast.

All in all a great tour and good English and wines. The B&B was very comfortable and the food excellent. The highlight was the friendly and accommodating staff.

Thank you all, we highly recommend both the tour and the B&B.

User

This was a Fathers Day present which I cashed in yesterday, it was a brilliant experience led by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable chap you took us around and explained the history/process of this superb site. Of course the tasting session was well received and we left very happy with a couple of purchases...I can still taste the Ginger wine (aka as a health drink) now!

User

The tour was very good. John was Great, making it informative and fun. All of the chiltern valley products we tried were very nice (especially the Muller thurgau and the damson vodka!)

The pool house house was very cosy. The hot tub and the sauna were fantastic and made for a brilliant night. To finish off, we received a good breakfast from a very cheerful and welcoming lady . Will definitely return.

User

The tour and tasting was great, lead by the amusing Pat. Loved the beers and I'm not really a beer drinker! We followed this with a stay in the lovely Pool House suite enjoying the hot tub and sauna and then a delicious evening meal. All topped off with a fantastic breakfast the following morning. Have already recommended to friends.

User

Perfect day out, great B&B too...

We had a lovely evening picnic in the garden, much better than getting a taxi to a local restaurant. Lucky for us it was an absolutely lovely summer evening!

User

I visited as a guest of friends for their wedding. The location and set up is wonderful, all staff were friendly, helpful and professional. We enjoyed the wine tasting aspect of the day and would love to attend again in the future 🍷

User

I booked the winery/brewery tour for my 40th birthday and went along with my husband and thought this was fabulous. I've been on a few tours abroad so was great to get some in sight into locally produced wine, beer and liqueurs. Our tour guide John was brilliant, giving the group a great insight to the family business and history and what actually goes on behind the scenes. The tasting covered a great selection of their white wines, sparkling, red and ales along with a good finish on the local liqueurs they produce.

Would highly recommend this tour and will be back before Christmas to stock up!

User

Had a fabulous experience on Monday, John was a great tour host and would definitely recommend this to everyone, it was interesting to hear the history behind it all and then taste some samples, we bought a fair bit and will definitely be buying more online

User

Great tour with extremely knowledgeable staff. Excellent value for money. The shop is well stocked with their produce. The only improvement would be to have a small restaurant.

User

Absolutely fabulous place! Our daughter bought this wine tasting event as a Christmas gift and we decided to add on the b&b. We stayed in the pool house and it was a beautiful and idyllic retreat- what a find ! We would definitely recommend m. Oh and the wine tasting event and 2hr tour was very informative. We bought several bottles of wine and liqueur 💕

User

A fantastic day out, the tour was very interesting and the guide entertaining and informative. The tasting section of the tour involved plenty of choice. I would heartedly recommend.

User

A brilliant 2 hour tour of the brewery with tasting of 3 white wines, a red wine, 3 ales and 3 liquors.

The tour was excellent and good value for money.

Steve the tour guide and manager was brilliant and humourous! I recommend this for a few hours out!

User

Went along for the winery/brewery tour and was very impressed. Our guide for the session (Pat) has an ascerbic wit, and kept the group of 18 on their toes throughout the 2 1/4 hour tour and tasting session. Learnt a bit about both the wine and beer production processes, and enjoyed the tasting session of 4 wines, 3 beers and 4 liqueurs. Pat is a dyed in the wool CAMRA member with some strong views on canned IPA, but we did our best to convert him!

The tour ends with a 10% discount in the shop, which most of us utilised.

All in all an informative and entertaining couple of hours with good company in beautiful surroundings.
