Introduce your horse to the idea of hunting in a safe way.
Group ride over land not usually accessible by the public, there may be some jumping but will always be a way round - pace will be a slow hunting speed, ground dependent.
There may be some hounds at the Meet but the ride will be without them, and we will move off at 11 a.m. - as with hunting - so arrive in time to be mounted and ready by 11 a.m.
... The ride will be approximately 2 hours and includes cuppa, cake and chat afterwards
Tradional clothes and tack preferred, body protectors optional
Contact Jane Vowles for more information or to book 07885 202539 janevowles27@gmail.com £30 per person to include stirrup cup before and tea/cake afterwards.

Wow, what a lovely day Betty (my horse) and I had, superb in every way.

Ted and Jackie are lovely and nothing is too much trouble.

Stunning countryside and fabulous bridleways.

Thank you, I will definatey be coming again.

User

Went for the first time last Friday, we got a warm welcome from Jackie and Ted and we did the self quided ride, which was well explained before and we were armed with a map, directions were very easy to follow and we had a lovely ride. The woodland areas were very shaded and cool and the village of Turville was beautiful to ride through, and we even stopped for a drink at the local pub. We are already planning our next visit as there are so many other routes for us to try.

User

Well, what can I say ? Deciding to make a little detour enroute to Wales was such a great decision. We did the 3hr hack through Turville and Southend. It was simply brilliant, in 28 degree heat, 90% was shaded and the terrain varied and stunning.

I would fully recommend and we’ll be back as Hovis and I have another 14 routes to do

User

We had a fantastic time here, the rides are amazing, the room was comfy and clean and the horses had a lovely big stable and field to graze, Jackie and Ted were perfect hosts and most welcoming. We will be back

User

We had a fabulous self-guided hack over at Cholsey today and will definitely be back! Jackie and Ted were super welcoming and ourselves and our horses loved the great canters!

User

Thank you jackie and Ted for your hospitality. Both riders, horses, grooms loved the whole weekend. Fabulous riding. (And recommendation to the best pub roast dinner!). Thank you for having us all xx

User

Thank you Jackie and Ted for another great couple of days riding. Two new rides for us this time and your excellent maps and directions made it just as easy to find our way round. Torky and I love visiting you and your beautiful countryside! See you again very soon. xx

User

Superb and highly recommended. Jackie has thought of everything. We had an amazing time and it was my first outing out with my horse who seemed to relax from the moment he arrived at the yard. Facilities were excellent including great instructions (which we managed to follow, despite gossiping & thinking we went wrong!). We were all made to feel very welcome & had a thoroughly enjoyable day. Looking forward to returning again very soon.

User

So I was rather ambitious and decided to go to Cholsey for the first time by myself and do a 15 mile ride on my hunter. Both Jackie and Ted warmly welcomed me and made sure I was set to go with a map and plenty of directions. I, however, was silly and misread public road with private road at the very beginning and ended up going the wrong direction completely! This was quickly rectified when relaying my direction on the phone to Jackie and I soon realised my ridiculous mistake. Advice: read the directions carefully! I loved going past all of the lambs in the fields and all the calves in the sheds. My horse didn't enjoy the stony canter spot but managed well with all other routes. A fantastic uphill canter at the end which had my boy puffing nicely - we made sure to jump the log beforehand too. Ted very helpfully reversed my trailer out of the yard so I could easily get out safely. I've had a lovely day and got a happy, yawning horse by the end of it. A big thank you to both Jackie and Ted. I will definitely be coming back - hopefully heading the correct way next time!!
