Spring at Cliffords

Spring has come. The garden is starting to bloom. The tupils are amazing.

Not there just now enjoying the sunshine in South Africa. The peacocks and guinea fowl have decided we are a good place to rest. See you all soon.

An amazing award. Just heard we have best restaurant award for the Chichester area from the Luxury Travel Company. Peters cooking must be improving hasn't taken him long! Well done to all the team and many thanks to our customers who voted for us. Peter and Carolyn xx

Sunday was a first we had 100 % repeat custom can anyone best that. Also we have just received certificate of excellence from trip advisor . Many thanks to all our loyal customers. Hoping for a good GoodwoOd with lots of winners!!

How about these for carrots and a herb garden, let alone the rhubarb!!!

Picking lots of strawberries the slugs haven't beaten us to it this year. Sat Saturday doing broad beans for the restaurant so I made sure they all ate them! peas are now picking also been de stoning the cherries.

Broad Beans are nearly ready for picking. Black Russian tomatoes are enormous and the lettuces are slug free. Runner Beans are finally growing and the strawberries are ripening if only one at a time!

The next locals night is Friday June 12th for a menu please ring. Cant believe it is yet another bank holiday coming up. The tomatoes are flourishing, and we have picked swiss chard for the restaurant this week along with lettuces and lots of herbs. The mint seems to be doing particularly well this year. Dona forget to book for Goodwood July 29th will be getting tickets very soon. Garden is looking very splendid at the moment already have roses out.

Been gardening and desperate to get right while the weather is good. Bluebells are out, tulips are out and planted up tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuces, beans, peas etc. we have some lovely purple sprouting but only enough for ourselves !! May bank holiday nearly upon us where is the year going? Carolyn

Just had a lovely day. Beautiful customers ( that's a first no not really) then had a lovely dinner with some of my favourite friends who have seen us through thick and thin. Now going for a rest before my nose gives in!!! ( ie not been too well) for those of you that need a clue. Carolyn xxxxxx

Well the season has well and truly started. We have had a manic Easter which has been brilliant if not a little stressful!! Max has been enjoying the sun although he likes to creep in and have a sleep upstairs if aren't looking. The next Friday night dining is May 8th so get booking. Goodwood will also soon be upon us. Frighting thought. All those wishing to book it on Wednesday 29th July spaces going rapidly!!! People must of heard how good we are betting on the winners!!!!!
The garden is looking splendid even with Peters help! Weather is terrific and is bolstering up my tan well I am pleased to say ( no spray guns needed here) . Any all for now. Carolyn, Peter & Max at Cliffords Cottage.

Back from holidays. We are seriously cold. Lovely to see my dog and friends again. Max is seriously playing up, when my friend said she was going Max suddenly had a very bad leg and was limping and crying, once gone low and behold the dog was fine does he love me or what?C xx

Weather is only slightly warm!! Peter and I both enjoying the sunshine. Will be back to cook for all soon. How about this for a beach and a view, and feeding the wild guinea fowl. See you all in February. Carolyn & Peter

Had a rather damp holiday but Max enjoyed chasing the pheasants. Got little Christmas shopping done and now back in full swing with Christmas parties. Christmas day is fully booked but have some availability for New Years Eve. Looking forward to our summer hols in Jan. Peter & I would like to take this oppurtunity to take all our customers through 2014 and wish them all a Happy Christmas and New Year. See you all in 2015.

Christmas is coming all too quickly. Taking Max to Devon for a little break before the rush might take Peter to if he behaves today!! Had a really good locals night thanks to all who participated in making it a fabulous night and hope to see you all again in December for the party night. Don't forget to book asap. Next local night after Christmas will be February 13th as Peter and I are hopefully going to get a little bit of sun in the new year.

Lovely Afternoon Tea for 2, staff very accommodating when it came to paying the bill, recommended and will be returning

Had our anniversary meal here, food was top quality and the owners were lovely and very friendly.

Would definitely recommend Clifford's Cottage and will be eating here again.

Excellent meal for a very special birthday celebration. Our neighbouring table shared a birthday as well. Food full of flavour and a friendly reception from all on site. A lov lead evening.

Beautifully presented, delicious food served by friendly staff. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable.
