We visited here last night for the first time, words cannot say enough, staff were so friendly, service excellent, atmosphere awesome, food first class, all the goodies for sale inside bags, jams, teapots and so much more give it that cosy family feeling, I totally recommend this restaurant and cannot wait for another visit to Reading

The staff were so friendly & helpful , talked us through the menu , we shared a mezze starter - was delicious

Luv'd it ! Hubby had mix grill - enormously gorgeous,& I had the half chicken with walnuts & pomegranate molasses- also delicious!

I tried the rose/ mint tea in the little silver pot & couple of homemade lemonade ( pomegranate & orange blossom my fav ) my hubby was over the moon to see FFS beer ! We were so full we didn't manage dessert , but we were given some free baklava OMG - they were so amazing! I loved all the sparkly bags & pretty boxs of sweets & jam for sale !

The toilets were my favourite thing - awesome

Friendly staff, explanation of items on the menu, had mezze to share then selection of Baklava to share.... all delicious. Will definitely be back, the whole experience was wonderful. Even if you call in for a cuppa, the decor and items for sale are fascinating and well worth a visit.

Food is amazing!! Service- very good but- you have to wait for that service. Staff are great but owners should think better how many people should run this gorgeous place to ensure that customers can be served on time and increase waitress/waiters specially on weekend.otherwise top marks.

Food and service was excellent. I'll definitely visit again.

First time in Lebanese restaurant. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, fantastic food, reasonable prices... what more could you wish for? :)

First time having Lebanese food. Incredible! The aromas and flavors. Balanced and yet bold. Probably top 5 meals I’ve ever had. If you’ve never had Lebanese, you have to try it. It will blow your mind and taste buds!

It's the 2nd time I've been to the (new) Reading Comptoir L. Excellent setting, decor and food are great & the breakfast brunch offers are generous if you need to get a feel for it all. The 1st time the coffee machine didn't work but the manager was upfront about it and increased the sizes of juices - the pomegranate has no added sugar & is more refreshing than the alternative mint /ginger/etc. The 2nd time the straws took a bit long to make it to the table as it came from storage - so the service can do with a slight improvement. Sweeten your wait with confectionary on offer too - sugar coated almonds & nougat with orange peel surround looks and tastes ! Glad they're in Reading...and the artistic loos are the best .

I went into Comptoir Libanais in Reading yesterday for the first time for a pre cinema lunch. The staff were really friendly. The decor is colourful much like the Lebanese cuisine. I was in two minds as to go for just a wrap or the wrap platter. In the end I had a Lamb Kofta Warm Wrap Platter. The wrap was delicious and on the hotter side of warm which is a good thing. Nothing worse than a Luke warm wrap where the middle is still at ambient.

The reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the value for money isn't that great. I went for the platter because I wanted salad and houmous. For the additional £1.45 you would expect a reasonable sized side salad, salad leaves, cucumber, tomato etc. But the Comptoir salad was just a pile of shredded cabbage, little bit misleading. But it tasted nice, the houmous is very smooth.

If I had more time and was with others I could have happily munched my way through the menu. I'd definitely go back again.

I arrived before the rest of my group and getting a drink was a nightmare, eye contacted gained swiftly followed by international hand gesture for a drink, silly me to assume the waiter would take my order. On the 2nd attempt the waiter was a trainee and couldn't help!, 15mins in finally I had a cold beer! We all had mixed grill it was good and the meat was juicy but the dish was dry and a little under seasoned with no cruets on the table! Good value for money hence the 4 *

Great food & friendly staff and very reasonable prices , keep up the good work

Food was great just the service was very slow and took over 15 min to be served drinks after we at down, but don’t let that put you off. The mixed grill very tasty.

We felt rushed through out our meal. Mains were brought out half way through our starters, we sent them back.

Then the starter plates were tidied up before we had even finished our last mouthful.

Shame as the food was good, but service would stop me from returning.

The dips we had as starters were really nice but the main was very poor. ...contained what looked to be frozen carrots that had been cooked to death and was very bland. It also took a long time to come out. We didn't get our potato side until we'd almost finished the rest and the potatoes were greasy and rather unpleasant, tasteless (other than the grease) ...they were taken off the bill when we refused the free baklava offered as compensation. The front of house staff were friendly and attentive enough but they were badly let down by the kitchen. Doubt I'd go back but if I do I'll probably just stick to the cold mezze
