October 9th is beer + pizza day. This seems perfect to celebrate the date. Who fancies it? https://fingerforkknife.com/…/beer-brai sed-bunny-pesto-piz…/

Old skool meets new. Acorn Old Moor - a Victorian style full-bodied porter with hints of licorice vs Siren Yu Lu - intricate beer with layers of flavour that remain distinctive, yet work in perfect harmony. Her name alludes to the mystical history of the humble tea leaf, which delivers subtle bergamot orange and lemon notes here, accentuated by the addition of lemon zest. Her delicate hop high notes will leave your taste buds sparkling.

What a fab little drinking hole.Would highly recommend if you love a good real beer

User

Very friendly and bar staff knowledgeable about their ales. They even had a local wine! We were passing by on a Sunday evening (were staying in nearby B&B) and had the added bonus of it being a regular folk music night. We sang a song or two ourselves as we were made to feel welcome. Thank you.

User

Such a great micro pub with a big personality! Nicky and Nigel are fab and truly know their ales! And their Gins are amazing!!!

User

Such a cozy lovely place to drink local gin and good beer. Love it here!

User

Spent a brilliant Sunday afternoon in good company listening to Jerry play. Totally recommend the Fordington Gin. Got to be tried ! Nicky and Nigel have got this right. Well done

User

Popped in on the off chance and had a great afternoon. Friendly atmosphere and a good selection of ale and beer straight from the barrel. The porter was my favourite. As someone once said "I will be back"

User

No fuss, no nonsense just good old fashioned beer poured straight from the barrel.

User

Love this place; a cosy independent business that we have now made a regular stop-off in our visits into town. Lovely to also visit yesterday and find it in its slightly larger premises across the alley.

Please support this place, as we must keep these places going in order for Dorchester to grow its quirky local social scene, and to stop the monopoly of big name brands at Brewery Square.

Interesting also to see a Cider pop-up bar open last night across the alley where CR used to be located. Not sure if this is just for Christmas or if it is owned by the same people, but it makes this alleyway into a great drinking destination, which can only be a great thing for both places.

Please visit pronto.

Love the intimacy and quirkiness of this place and cosy feel. I enjoyed a Velveteen milk chocolate stout. Perfect stop off before & after Plaza, which is only across the road. Will definitely be returning to try pie & pint!

User

I've said it already - nice place, nice folks, great beer. My favourite for miles around.

User

Great mix of micro-brew beer and cider plus folk in a tiny pub smaller than my kitchen. Must visit place in Dorchester.

User

Great meeting you yesterday and thank you for supporting our dogfriendly sticker scheme

User

Great little place with wonderful beer. Passed a pleasant hour or so having chat with other customers and the owners - just what a pub should be. Definitely coming back.

User

Cracking little micropub. Great beers and very reasonably priced . We'd been to the Beerex and the beer here at the CR was better by far . Keep up the great work everyone

User

Cosy and friendly little place with great beers and lovely English wines. Am looking forward to a Sunday afternoon music session there 😊

User

Brilliant. Great couple run this place, get Nigel talkting about Land Rovers or Steam Engines (or anything mechanical) and watch Nicci's face light up. Really good powerful beers complete the picture.

User

Brilliant place to try some unusual beers in a relaxing atmosphere- one of Dorchester’s hidden gems.

User

An excellent new addition to the real ale scene in Dorchester. Several visits made, good range of well kept and varied cask beers. Ciders and wines also available. Friendly place, easy to have conversations in. Well worth finding.
