Critical Fitness Training Description

Here at CFT we offer friendly, social and effective fitness for everyone in Ashford and the surrounding area.

We offer a perfect way to not only push yourself out of that comfort zone which you can find yourself in within a gym environment, but to be pushed constructively and safely by one of our friendly, professional trainers.

All of our trainers are ex-military physical training instructors and are trained to the highest standard.

If you are just returning to fitness after having a baby or injury, or have simply let the pub and takeaways get the better of you, we can manage you correctly with our group sessions or one on one training.

Even if you're already fit and active, we can not only improve your fitness but build on it by setting challenging goals that push you to your limit.

With a reasonable level of cardio fitness. Approaching 50 and getting accepted into the London Marathon, April 2018. I felt the need to work towards giving myself the best chance of making it through 26.2 miles and in the process become a fitter stronger version of myself #FitAt50.



I wanted to find someone and somewhere that I could train with that would listen to the story of my body and assess my fitness and ability to train. I presented myself to Greg, back in October 2017, with years old tales of surgeries and injuries that still affected me. He came up with a plan specific to me that built upon my strengths as well as rehabilitating a 30+ year old shoulder weakness. Observing and listening to what was going on for me each session. He brings the right amount of encouragement and push. Ensuring that ‘beast’ mode is engaged as often as possible. His no nonsense approach to de-bugging my limiting thinking about what is possible and going to the edges of my comfort zone and beyond shows an understanding of the battle many of us have with our ’head-monkeys’ when it comes to exercise or self belief.



Progress is being made, the numbers are going in all the right directions and the early morning one to one sessions are ideal for me. The gym is perfectly situated near the village of Wye and is well equipped. The sessions are dynamic, challenging and what makes the difference to me is the FUN! I keep coming back…



I am very grateful for Greg’s hard work and commitment to supporting me and my fitness goals. It most definitely will continue after the marathon and I would strongly recommend Greg at Critical Fitness Training if you are looking for a bespoke Personal Trainer.

Started on a six week boot camp lost a load of weight and instantly felt better. I had been in and out of gym memberships for years but bottom line is I don’t like exercise and exercise don’t like me. Going to boot camps and now two classes a week is a bit of a laugh and you don’t notice the hour going in at all!! Well worth a go I recommend to all ability levels!!!!

I've been training with Greg for a few years now and I love the energy he puts into the sessions. The studio is great, well thought out and a fantastic training space and there is always the outdoor space for the lighter evenings.



His sessions are always different and he knows how to get the best out of us. I'm especially enjoying the combat condition and boxing classes.

I signed up for the 6 week plan at the beginning of this year and it's the best move I made. The classes are challenging but fun and I actually look forward to going....which is a big change from the various gyms I've been to!

Everyone at CFT has been so friendly and welcoming it put me at ease straight away. The instructors are all so supportive, they make sure the classes are suited to everyone and push you to your own abilities.They are also there for help, advice and encouragement with the eating plans.

I've come to the end of my initial 6 weeks and have now signed up as a member.....not only have I lost weight but I'm feeling fitter, stronger and healthier than I have done in years! I've finally got my motivation back and it's all thanks to CFT :-)

I really enjoy going to "Boot Camp"- it is always fun and challenging whatever we are asked to do. The leader Greg is brilliant at making every session slightly different so we never get bored. It is always fresh and interesting- not like going to the gym! Greg is also good at assessing our abilities to allow for challenge but not to make us do too much that could cause harm. I value the social side of the group, with meeting new people and making friends. I also value that I am much fitter and stronger. (The last couple of years I have been on practical sailing holidays, on last years holiday I was amazed at how easy it was to haul the sails up- I put this down to the fun things that Greg had had us doing week to week.) I can recommend giving Greg's Critical Fitness Training a go for well being, strength and getting fitter.

I thought it would be completely outside of my ability and fitness levels and did feel extremely daunted at first. But as soon as I went along Greg and Bertie and all of the members are so lovely and made me feel at ease and very welcome. The best part; everyone is on their own fitness journey and at all different levels and so very supportive and non judgemental. There are all ages and fitness levels with everyone working towards the same goals. You never feel out of place or unable to complete anything. No class is ever the same which I love and Greg is a great motivator. He works the classes to individual fitness levels giving the fit bods more reps so we all finish at the same time. We have lots of fun and laughter too which helps the time fly by! After the 7 day trial I signed up to three classes per week. The early classes work perfectly for me around the kids and work so no excuses! Greg and Bertie were also superstars helping me with personal training and food plans to help get in shape for a holiday! They were so supportive and gave lots of encouragement and advice even outside of classes. I never would have thought I would be boxing and dragging a tyre around my waist! Or having pt sessions! I would highly recommend critical fitness. My advice; if you’re even considering it you should just go for it and do it!!! The first session is free to get a taster; I think you may well get hooked!! I absolutely love it (and actually missed it when i was on holiday!). If I can do it anyone can!

I just wanted to get fitter and lose my tummy fat and generally tone up , but I've ended up eating more healthily too ! The classes are so much fun , very sociable but you work hard at the same time . I've dropped two dress sizes since joining last year , I'm so happy and feel fantastic . Greg has a variety of different classes that you can choose from and attend, so he caters for all your fitness goals.

Some people tend it find it hard to joining a gym as it’s quiet a daunting experience, however Greg will make you feel very welcome and he has grown a good fitness family whom will also make you feel welcome. So come along and join, your first sessions FREE!!

I have been attending sessions with Greg for over two years now an aboslutely love it! My cardio fitness before I joined was ok but I had absolutely no strength in my arms / upper body at all....this has completely changed and I am physically stronger than I have ever been. I only wish I could attend more sessions per week to shift my baby weight but I have lots of years for that yet if Greg can put up with me!! Every session is different and Greg is a friendly, kind professional trainer which makes it slightly less painful, as whilst working hard I also work hard on my laughter muscles! I have tried many types of fitness from gym membership to other bootcamps and classes but I haven't found any that work you like CFT does. Thank you.

I hadn't exercised for almost 3 years before I came to my first session of buggy boot camp and I was terrified! However, Greg made me feel at ease within minutes and I was buzzing after the class. That was almost a year ago and I am still really enjoying it - I've noticed such a difference in my body shape - I'm much more toned then when I was just going to the gym. The classes are great fun and being able to bring my one and three year old along is just perfect. Thanks Greg!

I can't recommend Greg and the Critical Fitness team highly enough. No matter what your fitness level you feel comfortable and work to your own level in small classes that feel like personal training sessions. Greg always manages to make you give it your all, and with a great sense humour - never fail to leave a class without a smile on my face no matter how tough it was! Hi my name is Lorraine mullaly and I have been totally inspired by Critical Fitness 6 weeks camps for a great price of 60 pounds only with advice, food diaries and two sessions a week plus measurements.



The whole thing has been brilliant I lost weight and inches from my waistline every three weeks and they kept coming off!!! I am fitter more motivated and Greg is a lot of fun with some great training programs.



I would highly recomend his camps and course as they are fantastic content and progressive as well. ���

Critical Fitness Training is incredible! When I first met Greg, I was cautious about telling him who I really am. I was worried that if he knew, he would inform the FBI - I was a crack commando, but I was imprisoned for a crime I didn't commit. With three other fools, we broke free and went on the run. We found ourselves caught up in fighting crime, whilst remaining hidden from the authorities (which ain't easy). We managed to completely disappear off the radar. When Greg found out, he was cool with it, so were the other bootcampers. I now manage to keep fit and stay sociable without being found.

I have been attending sessions with Greg for over two years now an aboslutely love it! My cardio fitness before I joined was ok but I had absolutely no strength in my arms / upper body at all....this has completely changed and I am physically stronger than I have ever been. I only wish I could attend more sessions per week to shift my baby weight but I have lots of years for that yet if Greg can put up with me!! Every session is different and Greg is a friendly, kind professional trainer which makes it slightly less painful, as whilst working hard I also work hard on my laughter muscles! I have tried many types of fitness from gym membership to other bootcamps and classes but I haven't found any that work you like CFT does. Thank you.

I hadn't exercised for almost 3 years before I came to my first session of buggy boot camp and I was terrified! However, Greg made me feel at ease within minutes and I was buzzing after the class. That was almost a year ago and I am still really enjoying it - I've noticed such a difference in my body shape - I'm much more toned then when I was just going to the gym. The classes are great fun and being able to bring my one and three year old along is just perfect. Thanks Greg!

I can't recommend Greg and the Critical Fitness team highly enough. No matter what your fitness level you feel comfortable and work to your own level in small classes that feel like personal training sessions. Greg always manages to make you give it your all, and with a great sense humour - never fail to leave a class without a smile on my face no matter how tough it was! Started going to boot camp in 2013 and still go today. Well done guys

Hi my name is Lorraine mullaly and I have been totally inspired by Critical Fitness 6 weeks camps for a great price of 60 pounds only with advice, food diaries and two sessions a week plus measurements.



The whole thing has been brilliant I lost weight and inches from my waistline every three weeks and they kept coming off!!! I am fitter more motivated and Greg is a lot of fun with some great training programs.



I would highly recomend his camps and course as they are fantastic content and progressive as well. ���

Critical Fitness Training is incredible! When I first met Greg, I was cautious about telling him who I really am. I was worried that if he knew, he would inform the FBI - I was a crack commando, but I was imprisoned for a crime I didn't commit. With three other fools, we broke free and went on the run. We found ourselves caught up in fighting crime, whilst remaining hidden from the authorities (which ain't easy). We managed to completely disappear off the radar. When Greg found out, he was cool with it, so were the other bootcampers. I now manage to keep fit and stay sociable without being found.
