LEAGUE Cup Semi Final Crompton U14s 4 Ashton Pumas 2 (Report by Steve Grice)
This had the makings of a very tough day with a barebones squad and as many under 13s playing as under 14s but this team has got better and better and today was great evidence.... We started ok in the first minutes of the game both teams attacking. Pumas scored first from a corner with the player in so much space to head it in. This woke the girls up as we stared to attack with intent. A great run from Ellie Singleton deserved a goal as she beat the keeper and hit the inside of the post, the reprieve wasn't for long as a similar move led to Cora running in on goal and we got the equaliser. The Ashton Pumas were quick up front but our defenders Rosie/Abby/Holly did a brilliant job. Restricting chances to nothing. As the first half progressed we were peppering the Pumas goal with thier goalie bringing off some great saves from Leah and Regan and Cora. She couldn't stop the thunderbolt from Cora from a sharp angle Great first half. In the second half We were playing against a strong wind which didn't stop us attacking with Cora causing carnage in the Pumas defence. Pumas best way of getting back into the game were corners, one of them hit the front post with the wind. Despite us creating lots of chances the game was still in the balance until Grace went on a determined run, she cut inside and smashed a shot which thundered against the bar bounced down and into the net. Within 2 minutes it was 4-1 as the keeper brought off 2 great saves from Cora who eventually side footed across to Grace to put it into an empty net, Pumas pulled 1 goal back with 10 minutes left. We had to be more cautious and had one more scare as a corner went out 10 yards and blew into the post with the wind Superb result which couldn't be achieved without the support of the under 13s. ūü¶ĀGrace got girl of the game for an outstanding performance and a wonder goal ‚öĹÔłŹ‚öĹÔłŹGrace‚öĹÔłŹ‚öĹÔłŹCora Thanks to all the parents again you were awesome, Pumas parents have class in the way they said well done to to our girls. Special note the massive improvement in Ellie Singleton. It's no coincidence that Ellie is getting more game time, she trains hard every week, she is now outstripping defenders and although she was disappointed not to score her shot was fantastic. Perseverance pays off 27thApril Cup Final were are there for our first sounds goodūü¶Ā‚öĹÔłŹūüŹÜūüėé

U13's League Cup Semi-Final Crompton FC U13’s Sharks v Glossop North End Blues Won 3-1, (report by Chris Leach)
The return match against Glossop who knocked us out of the Autumn cup and the girls were up for this game to go through to the final. It started off a bit tense but once both team got into it they both played some good football.... We opened the scoring with an assist from Izzy Jones who can throw the ball into the box and Holly got a great header as she leaped like a salmon and hit the top bin,,,,, Our second was from some good passing and Amelia slotted the ball in the corner. 2-0 at half time but with just over 10 minutes to go, Glossop got a goal back as Izzy nearly managed to keep it out and it was down to Amelia to get the 3rd as she took it round the keeper to score whilst under pressure. Excellent work from everyone throughout the team with Holly getting the refs Girl of the Game. Thanks to Glossop for a good game and thanks to all the parents for your support. Finals day is Saturday 27th April at Hyde United's Stadium.
Goals: Amelia Sammons 2, Holly Taylor 1. Refs Girl of the Game: Holly Taylor ‚öĹÔłŹūü¶Ā‚öĹÔłŹ

U15's League Cup Semi-Final. Crompton FC U15’s Jets v Droylsden Lost 4-2 AET, 2-2 at Full Time (report by Chris Leach)
Getting to the semi-final of the league cup was a good indication of how much progression the girls have made over the season and to be playing the excellent Droylsden who beat us 14-2 in January showed again today with the result that we can hold our own against the best.... We were at full strength other than Lucy carrying an injury but the 3 U14's girls, Regan, Abby and Leah played most of the game and they gel with the other players really well. Droylsden went ahead but we pressed ahead and Regan scored from a corner to equalise. 1-1 at half time and we were still in it, yet we went 2-1 down but the girls didn't let their heads drop and continued to go for anther goal. Aimee got her weekly goal after great team work and then Sophie hit the bar but it went to extra time. As the U14's had to go to their semi-final Lucy had to play with her injury and yet we still had chances but unfortunately Droylsden grabbed 2 goals to win the tie. Standout performances all over the park today from the back to the front and an excellent game between the sticks from Madi who came off her line really well to cut out so many attacks gave her the refs girl of the game. Every single girl deserves a mention for their best performance as this was the first time that Droylsden didn't win a game in normal time this season. Proud of them all:- Madi, Kayleigh, Lucy, Rhianne, Abby, Róisín, Regan Nicole, Orla, Sophie, Freya, Lucy, Leah and Aimee. Big shout out to all the parents who have supported us this season.

Crompton Nexgen 5 SK Vipers 2 (Report by Matt Drogan)
Goalscorers: Mya Barker 3, Mia Drogan, Amelia Sammons
... Referees GoG: Amelia Sammons
There was an M And M feeling at Chapel Road this morning, as Mya, Amelia and Mia struck the goals which took Nexgen to a first League Cup final. After losing in the semi finals for the past three seasons, a big game for Nexgen arrived without three influential players, Ashleigh, Kenna and Holly. The girls were a little edgy at the start but Mya's first goal settled the nerves. It was quickly followed by a second from Mia, before Amelia went on a Messi like run and slotted home number three. Vipers scored two consolation goals, either side of Mya added two more to complete her hat trick. A fine win, with skipper Kacey McCoy immense and Libby Newton supporting Amelia superbly in central midfield. Onto Hyde for the final!

Match report Crompton u18s 3 Bury 1
Well what a way to finish the season a fantastic performance from the lady’s today Bit slow to start and at 0-0 at half time... I thought the game was going to fizzle out. How wrong was I second half we came out playing the sort we know we can passing a lot more crisper A great hatrick from Olivia Jo Newton and all great team goals. But I have to pay tribute to the make shift centre half Emily Benson who played brilliant But would also like to thank all the ladies who have played for the u18s this season and made them a pleasure to coach I personally would like to thank Robynn Standring playing her last game for Crompton today all the best in her future life And I would like to also thank Roger Harrison for all his help over the season and he will be missed

U13's League Cup - Crompton FC U13’s Sharks v Dukinfield Tigers Won 6-1, (report by Chris Leach)
The last fixture in the league cup before the semi-final next week and the girls continued the impressive run with a good display against an improving Dukinfield team from Division 2. We decided to just play Amelia in the first half as she had another game for the U12's and she made the most of it with 4 goals before half time showing some clinical finishing after great teamwork ...by the girls. The second half saw the girls score another 2 through Cora and Izzy but the Dukinfield keeper must have stopped at least another 4 certain goal to keep the score down. Semi-final next Saturday against Glossop NE Blues will need this kind of display again with a full squad. Well done girls.

U15's - Crompton FC Jets v Failsworth Villa. Lost 2-1 League Cup Match. (report by Chris Leach)
The reverse fixture from last week and it was no surprise to see the Failsworth girls fired up after our big win. It was also no surprise that our girls thought all they had to do was turn up but the psychological side of the game plays a big part of team sports and we just didn't have the right mindset for the win and as we have already qualified for the semi-final they knew the... result wasn't crucial. We were just off the pace today all over the pitch, especially in the first half when Failsworth scored a well deserved goal to take them into a half time lead. We improved a bit in the second half and pushed on to get something from the game but left ourselves and Failsworth broke away and double their lead. However, we still had something left and after mistake at the back, Kayleigh made up for it and won the ball back and set off down the right hand side on a great run. She knocked a great pass to Róisín who just managed to get to the ball and knock a great cross over with Sophie timing her run to perfection and hitting it first time into the net. It was one of those day unfortunately but good to see some positives in defeat. We will need a full squad for next weeks semi-final against Droylsden if we want to get something out of this game.

Crompton Nexgen 3 Droylsden Pumas 4 (Report by Matt Drogan)
Goalscorers: Mya Barker 2, own goal
... GoG: Ashleigh Murgatroyd
The top two, who have already reached the semi finals, met in the final group game of the League Cup at Chapel Road. Nexgen were missing keeper Laila Stanley, who has had a great season, which was a concern. However, Mya got Nexgen off to a perfect start with a fine left footed finish. But Droylsden quickly hit back with a fine strike , before Kacey smashed a free kick forward and an og made it 2-1. Then a deflected goal off a corner for Droylsden made it 2-2. No time to take your breath ..And it was half time!
Droylsden caught Nexgen out with two fast counter attacks to go 4-2 up. But Nexgen came straight back at them Mya going very close, before another great left foot strike for 3-4. There was time for another couple of Kacey free kicks to cause havoc in the box, before the ref blew her whistle and we all drew our breath again! Pulsating encounter. Semi finals next week, with super Laila back!
