Checking out the Singapore food scene. This masala dosa from the Tekka Centre in Little India was very much on point 👌🏼

Proud to see our Brighton Lanes Cafe listed in The Good Food Guide for the 4th year running, as a 'local gem'. Great to see so many of the city's other restaurants in there too. Forza Brighton! 💪🏽🍾#brightonrestaurant #curryleafcafe #foodiebrighton #indianstreetfood #brightonfood

Curry Leaf Cafe’s head chef Gouranga Bera in action at our Brighton Lanes Cafe. There’s magic in them hands 🧞‍♂️💥

User

Wonderful food and drinks - the lunchtime menu in particular offers great value for money. Friendly staff and atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back.

User

What a lovely friendly place, the menu was really clear and the food fantastic.

User

We visited Curry Leaf Cafe last night with our Daughter & Partner who booked the meal there. There was 1 Vegetarian 2 Vegans plus 1 Meat eater and all of us enjoyed all our different choices of food. Staff really friendly and accomodating will definitely visit again.

We celebrated my wife's birthday at The Curry Leaf, Brighton on Friday evening. We had seen good Trip Advisor reviews but we weren't expecting the best Indian meal either of us have ever had but that's what we got. Firstly the buzz of the restaurant is superb, it looks fantastic, the staff are very motivated and the gentle conversation of our fellow diners was perfect. When you get your first look at the menu, you realise it's full of dishes you have never seen before, unfamiliar names and unusual combinations of ingredients. Between us we tried 6 dishes which all looked fantastic and tasted sublime. The quality of the ingredients, the perfect use of spices, just the right amount of charring, brilliant! I cannot praise this place highly enough. Finally we paid £70 which was great value. We live in Brighton and will definitely be coming back to The Curry Leaf, I can't wait until then.

They kindly stayed open a bit later than normal to accommodate us after the football. The food is delicious

User

Stunning food and great service. First class all round!

User

Loved this place. Great vegan options, including beer. very friendly staff.

User

Just amazing! I went for brunch and can't recommend curry leaf enough. The masala dosa and chutneys are heavenly. The chefs are ridiculously talented, the staff are friendly and there are great vegan options too!

User

Great food. Friendly people. Chilled atmosphere. Plenty of vegan options too!

User

Great food casual atmosphere ! Well worth a visit ... but booking is essential! It was packed by 7 pm & they were turning people away!

User

First time in for lunch, 3 of us. Fast friendly attentive service. Lovely food, hot, tasty, very nice ! I had the Chicken Mappas Thali, another had the Tandoori Chicken Open Naan Wrap ( oddly named because it can't be a wrap if it's open ?! ). But all very good. Lunch for 3 with a bottle of wine £56, which I thought was excellent. Definitely go back if in Brighton again.

User

Fantastic food and a constantly evolving menu. We've been there twice now and love the relaxed and informal atmosphere, friendly service. The food is completely authentic street food and is a welcome alternative normal lunchtime options such as burgers, pizzas, pasta etc. Location is great too - just a short walk from the Lanes and not too far from the beach and pier. Can't wait to go again soon!

User

Fabulous food with a wonderful ambience. The staff were very informative and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.

User

Curry heaven: Lovely place, great food and craft ales too.

I spent a few months travelling and eating in southern India. This place serves up authentic and creative dishes that take me straight back there.

User

An indulgent birthday lunch: cocktails, poppadoms with 3 sauces, I had the fish and chips and my friend had the pea and potato masala dosa. Wine and home made chocolate chili tequila shots. Excellent attentive but informal service and fab environment.

User

This is a quirky cafe with a nice rustic atmosphere and friendly staff. Our curries arrived very quickly and were delicious although it seemed our menu option was the only chicken one available (although I didn't ask). Would recommend. I didn't think it was overpriced as per some other reviews here.

User

It was ok not the curry I expected but pricey for what it's worth

User

Popadoms out of a packet from supermarket, small portions and over priced for what it was. Only good thing was waitress who got us in to eat. Might have been better if she hadn't . Go to Norwich for great curry houses

User

This was not a successful visit for several reasons:

The restaurant was fairly packed, such that we were given a table by the window, where the bench seat was too far from the table itself. Attempts to move the table failed.

The atmosphere was very young. The place was full of vocal hipster types, and the acoustics were not great. Neither my partner nor I felt comfortable, but we stayed to look at the menus.

What struck us both was that the prices seemed very steep, even by Brighton standards. A small can of beer north of a fiver? A fairly average curry in the £15-17 bracket? For that I would expect a high standard of food, probably higher than we could expect in a trendy curry house.

Service proved very average indeed. Our waitress showed us to the table, then promptly vanished. My partner went to the loo, expecting me to have ordered drinks and to have them on the table by her return. I had not seen the waitress in the meantime, presumably to give attention to the hipsters.

When there was still nobody in sight, we gave up and went for an excellent Thai meal nearby, where food was excellent and very fair value, and service attentive. Nobody came to apologise as we left. So be it.

Curry Leaf Cafe needs to attend to the basics and get its attention to detail right to justify the prices and make customers feel wanted.
