Don't spend extra money on name brand magic erasers when you can just buy melamine sponges in bulk from a local store, or from Amazon.
Switch to microfiber You can save a ton of money by switching to microfiber. You can literally clean your whole house with just water and it will do the trick! Just use a microfiber cloth for every room--no chemicals, and money saved!
... Make scouring powder You can make your own scouring powder with 2 parts baking soda, 1 part salt, and 1 part borax. It will get rid of the very toughest scum!
Citrus-infused vinegar Just fill a jar with citrus peels and pour white vinegar over them. Leave it for a couple of days and then strain out the vinegar to use as a cleaner. It works great as a window cleaner, for mopping floors, and for disinfecting surfaces.
Use a checklist! Using a checklist will help you get the job done. It's also a great way to get the kids involved with doing some chores!

Here are some natural friendly cleaning tips for your home:
Mix a paste of baking soda and water on the bottom of the oven, leave for a few hours or overnight then wipe off for a shiny, chemical free oven.
To clean your dishwasher of that musty smell, fill a bowl 2 cups of vinegar and place it on the top rack of the dishwasher. Put your dishwasher on a hot cycle with no other dishes and this will remove that musty odour.
... Clean your shower head by filling a plastic bag with lemon juice or white vinegar and then tie the bag around the shower head so that the shower head is emersed in the vinegar. Leave on several hours then remove. This will not only make your shower head clean and sparkly but also free of any hard limescale too.
Fed up with pet hair on your upholstery pull on a pair of rubber gloves and sweep your hand across the pet hair. The pet hair will stick to the gloves rather than your upholstery.
After each shower use a window squeegee on tiled walls as this will slow down on the formation of water spots.
Sweep or vacuum floors first to ensure that you have picked up all the dust and crumbs, then mop from the furthest corner first working towards the door.
Always dust before vacuuming, and to dust we recommend a damp, clean, microfibre cloth.
