We loved our stay , perfect for the harry potter studio tour . The staff at breakfast and the ladies that serviced the rooms were really lovely and very friendly. Arron on reception was particularly helpful, professional , welcoming and cheerful x

We just returned from our nights stay and we had the most fantastic experience. On arrival we found out we had been upgraded to a junior suite which was amazing, the room was beautiful and the view was the best!

Our bed was huge and extremely comfortable. All the staff were so helpful and went above and beyond for us. Breakfast was lovely. The pool was lovely and clean.

We will definitely be back, we loved it so much we didn’t want to leave!

Thank you so much.

Stayed in a deluxe room, can't fault it, for a 2 night stay.

Bit of a hiccup at check-in.

Turned up at reception at 3pm on the nose, 'sorry, no rooms are ready'

Took a seat and after a few more visits, eventually managed to leave reception with key in hand at just before 3:50pm.

Shannon on reception was very apologetic and was trying her hardest to sort it out.

Dinner on both nights were great and waiter very attentive, didn't get his name, nice chap though.

Both breakfasts great too. Lot of choice. Good staff.

Well done team Latimer.

Just returned from a nights stay and over all I was really happy with the place. Stayed in room 203 in the main house and the room was spotlessly clean and a good size. The room had been tastefully decorated by someone who had added touches to make the room feel homely and relaxing. Although there was a wedding on yesterday and our room window while overlooking the river was also right above the festivities we could not hear any of it in our room. Food was good, only moan there would be that it took quite a while for our drinks to arrive with dinner and the same again with the hot drinks at breakfast. Pool facilities are very basic though but then it all feels a bit less pleasing for anything out of the main house. Will be staying again but will make sure it will be a room in the main house and not one of the ones in the bit tagged on the side because I get the feeling they will not be as pleasant

Just returned from 2 nights at Latimer Estate for our 10th wedding anniversary, we loved every minute of it, the staff were great most especially the lovely lady who was down to service our room on 13th Apr. They found out it was our anniversary and sent a bottle of proseco to our room! The food was amazing from breakfast to dinner, bed was comfortable, deco was great and we had a great view. We had no complaints at all and hope to be back! Thank you for an amazing time.

User

I want to say thank you to your team. Our puppy got startled in the woods yesterday and ran off, trying to find his way home he got lost in your grounds, someone from staff so kindly took him to a local vet to read his chip and he’s now home safe and sound. Thank you for going the extra mile and showing love to our four legged friend.

User

You know, it's such a shame, such an incredible setting, but just suffers from a serious lack of attention to detail and seriously understaffed. The refurb is impressive, and the rooms great value in the main hotel, but food and beverage is utterly shocking, hence 3 star rating. We enjoyed just being there, and our expectations were low. Come on devere, it's a diamond in the rough waiting for more than an expensive facelift.

User

Upgraded to delux room. Clean and tidy. Had everything in room tomake our stay comfortable lovely location. Staff friendly and approachable. I would stay there again.

User

Room was small and hot. No fridge in room and breakfast was average. 3 floors of steps and no lift with heavy case

We booked for afternoon tea on 16th April 2018. We were sat for half an hour before we were even asked if we wanted a drink. The two trays of cakes were just dumped on the table. The waitress spilt tea on the table which I had to source a napkin to mop it up. Literally, no one attended to us in anyway. We could’ve easily have walked out without paying. And I kinda wished we had. That’s how little attention we got. For £22.50, the scones would’ve be nice warmed. The sandwiches were dry & curled on corners. But no one asked if everything was ok. Very disappointing.

User

I generally like this hotel very much.

This time however I’ve paid for a Deluxe Room. It is so warm it is impossible to sleep. It has no air conditioning and only one of the windows opens a tiny amount.....the room is far too warm. I have fans but they only pump the same air around the room.

I told reception and they said they can not do anything about it.

At the moment I’m trying to cool the room down by propping the door open......very unsatisfactory. I may have to go and sleep in the car.

Do you, like Premier Inn, guarantee a good night’s sleep?

User

Here for a course. There were only ‘superior’ rooms left so I took the plunge and paid a bit more than I’d have liked. Expectations were high. So disappointed with the room. First impressions of the room that it was a bit dingy. Only 3 hangers in the wardrobe. Bathroom looks a bit grubby- mildew between tiles etc. Dirty room blinds. Cobwebs around ceiling. Stains on walls. Coffee cup circles. Not even a biscuit in the coffee tray . Really underwhelming at the price

User

Great location but lacking bar staff at prime time on a Friday night and those that were on duty were slow and didn’t have much clue

User

Booked 2 nights with secret escapes for my partners birthday, room was ok but disappointed with size and not what I was expecting from the pictures seen when booking, the room above us had seriously creaking floor boards and we were awoken at 7.30 both mornings by the person upstairs doing a 3 mile walk around their room!! View from room was limited and bathroom very small. Facilities good. Most staff were very good although one or two bar staff require some training and service in bar was slow. Ran out of Gin! And then ran out of beer I liked, not good. Would I go back? Not sure! Surrounding area was beautiful and Amersham old town is fascinating, I feel the hotel has more potential.

User

We and my wife booked a room for the the night of the wedding turned up at the hotel, around half 12 to 1 in the morning you state that’s the hotel is 24hrs. I beg to differ I rang the bell twice no answer even rang the hotel still no answer!! I don’t rate this service at all stay away don’t waste your money!!!!!

User

Very disappointing. Would not recommend staying here. Don't let the photos fool you, the rooms were not what was booked!!! Dirty carpets while walking to the room which should have been a sign, the room when I got there was a sauna with no aircon, no fan and the windows screwed shut "due to safety reasons". Dirty mug, spoon, towels, shower head and taps, hair under the duvet. Very disappointed and told the hotel was fully booked so they couldn't change the room.

User

Sadly disappointed!

Firstly, let me say that a friend had previously visited the 1838 restaurant and enjoyed a lovely meal. She therefore suggested that we go with our husbands and booked a table. First impressions were good, the reception hall is lovely and the hotel refurbishment has been well done.

We waited for a good five minutes at the restaurant door before we were greeted and seated. We were given water and menus. My friend asked for the menu she had eaten from the previous week but apparently they were only offering a set menu. Why were we not informed of this on booking?

Eventually someone came to take our order and we pointed out that we'd also like to order drinks as no-one had asked us yet.

Starters arrived and were strictly average.

My friend and I had the plaice for main course. It was quite honestly the worst piece of fish I've ever been served.

The coffees arrived before the dessert which consisted of lukewarm crumble and tepid custard.

There were three members of staff waiting tables in a restaurant that was probably half full and included a 'conference type' party.

According to the bill, this was the 'Wedding Taster' menu. Let's just say that I wouldn't be booking a wedding based on the 'food' last night!

Luckily we all managed to laugh about our experience but my friend is acutely embarrassed and couldn't believe the drop in quality.

Don't think we'll be hurrying back unless it's just for a tea or coffee (at least they were hot!)

I was booked into a room at this hotel for a company summer party. The location is beautiful and expectations were high. Sadly they were shattered as soon as I opened the door to my bedroom (room 4). It was an "easy access" room with fittings for a disabled person. I wouldn't have minded that but the walls were covered in filthy marks, the toilet bowl was dirty, the shower was dirty, the whole room just looked nasty and to top it off, when I turned back the sheets, I found yellowing flakes of skin in the bed! Completely unacceptable.

I asked to be moved but was met with a glazed stare and no apology. They said they were fully booked so I expect there were a lot more disappointed 'guests' that night.

There was no way I was going to sleep in that room so I left. I didn't attend the summer party that my office had arranged and I went home with a very bad taste in my mouth and the musty smell of that nasty little room in my nostrils!

I have some photographs if you've got the stomach for it!
