We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas Day and Boxing Day.🎄🎉 This week we will be open on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th December, although we will be unable to take donations for those two days. Come on down to see us, our volunteers will be glad to say hello and have a friendly chat. For some it can feel like a lonely time of year, so if you’re sat at home with nothing to do, why not pop in to say hello! 😊 And don’t forget, Saturday we will be having a sale on all bric-a-brac items, yet another reason to pop by. Well deserved round of applause 👏 to our volunteers and customers for raising £85 for Phyllis Tuckwell charity this festive season! The lucky winner of ‘guess how many sweets in the jar’ was Norman Wilson - with a guess of 660 (only 10 away from the actual number 650!). Thanks to our amazing volunteers for donating the sweets, we hope they will be well enjoyed this Christmas! 🍬 😋

For those who haven’t seen this, come along and join in the fun!

Discoveries will be open until 5pm this Saturday, due to the much anticipated Yateley outdoor Nativity! Why not come on down to enjoy this festive community event? There will be real animals 🐑 and food available 🌭 with all the action taking place from 5pm around Church End Green. Why not pop by early to see what bargains you can find, and grab a mince pie and mulled wine in Cafe 46? 😋
There will also be a Christmas Tree Festival, with trees decorated by local community groups.🎄You can buy programmes for this event from Discoveries and Cafe 46 all week. We’re looking forward to the fun, don’t miss out!

Further to our last post: Unfortunately our hardworking team have not been able to catch up with all your donations. You really are THAT generous! 📦📦📦 We would therefore ask that if you have any donations could you please hang on to them for one more day whilst we make our sorting room safe again. We aim to be up and running again on Thursday, but as always we will keep you updated here. We are very sorry to test your patience once more, and ask for your understanding. DONATION ANNOUNCEMENT: Wow today we have really been blessed with a huge influx of donations, thank you all for your generosity! ❤️ The Discoveries sorting room is now full to the brim, and we have sadly run out of room to safely store your kind donations. Could we please therefore ask that tomorrow (Tuesday) you please hold on to any donations whilst our brilliant volunteers work to clear the backlog. Please share this with anyone you think might be affected. As we’ve said before, stopping donations is ALWAYS a last resort, and something we really dislike doing. Without your generosity we’d have no way to keep the shop running and serve the community. However, we have no alternative at the moment, and thank you for your cooperation and continued support.
