A fantastic start to the year achieving Gold Awards again from Visit England in both Church Farm Cottage and the Ancestral Barn for exceptional accommodation and customer service!
We've been very busy over the last few weeks decorating and updating the cottages. They're all finished and ready for our first guests this week.

Last week we had to say a very sad farewell to Jill, Sue and Steve's sheepdog. She was a lovely dog, loyal and enthusiastic and will be very much missed by us all.

After the wind and rain we finally have a lovely sunny afternoon here in Stanshope. Hopefully it'll continue!
The water levels at Ladybower Reservoir are at their lowest since 2003 revealing the remnants of the lost village of Derwent. The village was drowned in 1944 when the reservoir was created.
The cows are now in for the winter and enjoying some homemade silage and hay for breakfast.
It's very tiring being a farm cat!!
It's been a fabulous week in the Peak District, perfect weather for walking. My first visit to Edale and the views were stunning.
We've had a bumper crop of apples this year in the orchard. So many that we've donated them to a local cider making company to turn into award winning cider.
Our handreared tup called Spot, went to meet his ladies today. Hopefully we'll have lots of lambs in 5 months time!
Extra breakfast for the cows this morning. Not long now until they come in for the winter.
