Parental support is a key part of learning to drive, from funding lessons to helping with private practice. New report reveals over half (52%) of 17-24 year olds in the last year continued to receive financial help with motor running costs from their parents post-test.
We'd love to hear your comments on this below!

A new study has found that eldest siblings are the worst drivers.
Privilege Car Insurance looked at the driving of 1,395 people and discovered that older brothers and sisters are most likely to pick up bad driving habits.
http://www.adinews.co.uk/…/Eldest-sibli ngs-are-the-worst-dr…
... This made us want to run this poll and ask ADIs if you have found this to be the case!
Have you taught siblings? If so, was the elder the worse driver?
Feel free to share your experiences in the comments.

BBC Essex are broadcasting a segment on Monday morning about forced retirement and what tests and precautions older people still working have to take in order to carry on working.
This has stemmed from recent news of Wayne Bayley, a pilot challenging the forced retirement age of 65 https://www.thetimes.co.uk/…/pilot-chal lenges-forced-retire…
BBC have got in touch with us as they are hoping to chat to a driving instructor from Essex about their job as they've grown older. Do y...ou sympathise with Wayne Bayley?

DVSA have announced that telephone services will be unavailable on Friday 10 August 2018 after 1pm.
So, if you have any practical driving test bookings or enquiries, driving instructor and trainer enquiries, or enquiries regarding Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) for lorry, bus and coach drivers, you won't be able to call DVSA on Friday afternoon.
While their telephone service is unavailable, you can still use their online services for driving tests, driving instructors and Driver CPC, or contact DVSA via email customerservices@dvsa.gov.uk, Twitter or Facebook.

Really informative CPD course in Ipswich today for drivers with Diverse needs. John Rogers is a great lecturer and made the day fly by. Lots of leaflets and helpful materials. Look forward to more courses being held in the Ipswich area which is a great place for instructors from North Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk border.

I enjoy working with DIAmond examining and various exhibitions like Parkex.

User

Great to know you have info and support at your finger tips.

User

Amazing! I wouldn’t be the ADI I am without the DIA.

User

I'm probably going to leave the DIA when my membership is up as I'm pretty annoyed that I'm your seemingly selling my details to 3rd parties.

This week alone I've had 3 emails (two from the same company, logbuy, and 1 promoting Admiral insurance) I'm sick of it already.

Here is the response from the DIA regarding my complaint... Advising me to delete emails if I don't want them, they shouldn't be sending them....

Good morning Rich,

Hope you’re well. Thank you for the email.

I’m sorry you find this spammy, we want to help and create awareness of all programmes which we feel will benefit our members. The best way forward would be to delete the emails as they come in.
