The Alaskan husky puppies had their first walk (with us) today! Because we had to allow them to settle in when they first arrived, and then because of the heat we've had recently we have not been able to walk them until now. Although it may look chaotic they have started their training already, learning the commands they will need to know for future racing and working.

Whilst some of us are enjoying the weather at the moment, for our wildlife it has been a long and HOT dry spell. There have been many reports of severe dehydration in the local wildlife. Please be kind enough to leave a dish of water at the bottom of your gardens at this tough time for them, IŌĆÖm sure they will appreciate it! ¤śŖ ŌśĆ’ĖÅ ¤Æ” ¤”ö ¤”Ŗ ¤É”¤ÉØ¤É┐

what an amazing day! I booked the owl experience for my brother and myself for his birthday. It did not dissapoint. Peter who is a volunteer at the foundation was our experience guide and he was just fantastic. He answered all of our questions and shared so much knowledge with us, he had such a lovely bond with the owls & was just a really nice guy. we came away wanting to be volunteers ourselves! after the experience with the owls we stayed to watch the birds of prey display. WOW!! again so much knowledge to share. the young lady who led the display with peter was brilliant. thoroughly enjoyed it even if it was super hot 'over 30┬░!'. will defo be coming back later in the year for a husky experience. Thank you for a Great day out that we will never forget.

User

What an absolute gem of a place!!

Was here yesterday with my husband for the Owl Handling Experience, and everything was amazing.

Bird show was fun and enjoyable and the staff were extremely helpful and knowledgable x

CanŌĆÖt wait to go back !! Would highly recommend

User

What a lovely impromptu visit. Bird show was great, fun and informative. Staff are amazing, I was even give some plants buy the lovely lady's clearing out the butterfly sanctuary, for me to get started on mine, which was lovely. Lovely cafe and play area for the little ones. Overall fantastic find, two thumbs up

User

What a great place to visit, we were there to do the meerkat experience and it was well worth the money, definitely recommend! The whole place is so intermit and friendly, not like a massive park where all they want is your money! Thank you for a wonderful day/morning out x

User

What a fantastic day, we received an owl handling experience for Christmas and it was fabulous. We had an hour of flying three gorgeous owls and then watched a really great flying display. Staff are brilliant, thanks Sophie, and we couldnŌĆÖt have had a better day. Highly recommend this place for a visit

User

WeŌĆÖve just got back from a brilliant day out at Eagle Heights. Made it in time for the first flying show and met Mr and Mrs Buthead and Rex who nearly took our heads off coming into land! Fantastic location off the beaten track, we were blown away by the number of species. We stayed for the second flying show, and again were treated to some aerial stunts but the vulture stole the show, bench hopping and avoiding capture for return to his cage. Great day out, not far for us so we will be returning

User

This was a 50th birthday pressie from my dad and it was great. Sophie was lovely, gave us so much information and let us spend lots of time with each of the owls, flying them and admiring them. We then watched the show, had our free drink and spent time visiting the other birds and animals. Thank you for a lovely day

User

On a wet and miserable day, what do you do?

Children that are bored and frankly miserable too.

You scroll through all the days out, anything thatŌĆÖs indoors?

Nothing taking your fancy in the big old wide outdoors.

Eagle Heights was standing out as something we could try.

IŌĆÖd visited as a child but always when it was dry.

I had read upon their website that when itŌĆÖs wet they fly inside,

So we jumped in the car for our adventure with a nice short country ride.

We had a mooch around and caught up with a little tour,

It was upbeat and very factual for kids and the more mature.

The lady spoke of all the birds including how they shot to fame,

Album covers and a mascot; for Crystal PalaceŌĆÖs football games.

Following the mini tour we visited the crocodile,

The best part of my sons afternoon, producing the biggest smile.

The reptiles that we saw all seemed happy and extra clean,

All housed very adequately, beyond each safety screen.

The time nearly 12, it was time for the flying show,

So we headed to the arena and sat down in the back row.

The first of the three birds was a gorgeous white barn owl,

She swept low over our heads whilst we learnt how they hunt and prowl.

Following the owl was a cheeky pair of hawks,

They hopped along the benches whilst staff continued with their talks.

Last but not least we watched a social media star,

After Rex got lost whilst flying and travelled very far!

He was found right up in Newcastle after a short but mamoth ordeal,

Returning a few days later after a huge big Facebook appeal.

The final part of our busy day was a chance to hold a bird,

I stood very still and quiet, not saying a single word.

The eagle that was the mascot and PalaceŌĆÖs lucky charm,

Was sitting tall with her impressive stare, right on my broken arm!!

I recommend Eagle Height to kill a good few hours,

In boiling hot sunshine or even in rain showers.

User

No negative feedback. I came with the intention of staying for a few hours, but I have so far stayed most of the day. The staff are friendly, the shows are well run, the animals are clean and happy. This is at the moment a short review to be updated later on (once I have gone through my so far 1600 photos). The variety of animals is amazing for such a relatively some complex. I truly hope Eagle heights gets the funding behind them to carry out the expansion discussed. Don't listen to the hate you read. I will be returning! UPDATE....I have now left after spending all day. It was amazing, the displays were interesting, hearing the stories about each individual bird the care and genuine love for the birds by the staff was clear to see. This place (like all wildlife sanctuaries) does so much for these animals and animals all over the world, saving them from termination or improper care, donŌĆÖt jump to conclusions about the animals until you have taken the time to visit. I now have 2421 photos to go through and will but uploading a few to whet your appetite for your own visit. Go along, a great day for all ages. Thank you, Eagle Heights!

User

My partner and I have been to Eagle Heights' Husky camp twice now, once last year and then again last night. We had an amazing time on both occasions. The staff are amazing and incredibly knowledgeable about all of the animals. You get so much for your money not only do you get to enjoy a great campfire with spectacular views but you get to cuddle Huskies and Malimutes who are absolutely gorgeous and mischievous! Shawn and Sophie were wonderful hosts and we had a great night with our fellow campers. Will most certainly be coming back again and will be spreading the word!! Thanks for a great night everyone!!

User

My experience was to fly four different Eagles. It was interesting and amazing. The birds were stunning and so powerful and I felt privileged to be able to fly them. I saw both displays during the day and had tea and cake at the end which was delicious. The views are amazing and there is a play area for the children. Highly recommend

User

My daughter and I visited Eagle Heights on Saturday 30th June. We spent a fascinating first hour or so with Pete and his owls, during a lovely owl handling experience. Afterwards we took a detailed look around and attended both the displays.

To anybody thinking of visiting, I say this, GO, you will not regret it. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly, the place itself is beautiful and the birds and animals well looked after. You might harbour some preconceptions, thinking, Eagle heights looks quite small, IŌĆÖll plan for a short visit of just a few hours, be warned, I thought the same and stayed for over 7 hours. It is just a fantastic place to visit, with new things to learn around every corner.

User

Me and my other half did a nights camp at eagle heights for the couples camp and we thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish! It gave us both time to get away and unwind for the night as well of having good company from the staff and the other campers. The weather was perfect and the prosecco was even better haha! I really recommended this to couples who just want to get away from normal life to something that refreshes your mind and I also really recommend you take the following day off to relax in the country having a picnic like we did and explored around the beautiful country! We would just like to say a massive Thankyou to Shaun and Sophie for great night!

User

I took my 6 year old grandson to eagle heights yesterday, we had an amazing time , looking at the birds , husky and reptiles, we enjoyed watching the birds fly my grandson was amazed with Rex ,and the play area was a nice little wind down before home well worth the visit , very reasonably priced as well .

User

I canŌĆÖt tell you how absolutely amazing this place is! Hubs and I went for the VIP day and we were blown away by every attention to detail, the tour was really great, we got to learn about the personalities of each bird and husky, see two amazing shows where the birds were not only entertaining but hilariously naughty too. We got to fly and hold two birds and also snuggle the huskies. We will be back soon!

Fantastic place to visit. Bird display was really informative and my two children really enjoyed seeing all the different birds of prey. Amazing place.

Did the VIP experience.

Had a friendly and knowledgeable guide who explained all of the animals to us.

The flying displays were great- 2 displays but with different birds in each. Got up close and personal with them during the displays as they flew overhead, walked in front and were shown to us by the handlers :)

I really recommended this to couples who just want to get away from normal life to something that refreshes your mind and I also really recommend you take the following day off to relax in the country having a picnic like we did and explored around the beautiful country! We would just like to say a massive Thankyou to Shaun and Sophie for great night!

Fantastic place, wish we had known about it years ago! We came for the Husky Camping Experience and had an awesome time. The scenic location, knowledgeable and friendly handlers, accommodating staff, the informative & entertaining bird shows, the range of birds and animals, the affordable gifts, the spacious Teepees and the huskies ’┐Į......everything made for a perfect experience. Thank you all at EHWF, we will be back!

Fantastic place to visit. Bird display was really informative and my two children really enjoyed seeing all the different birds of prey. Everywhere was clean and tidy and plenty of benches for a picnic. Plus a children's play area for them to burn off some energy. All the birds looked well cared for. Definitely recommend ’┐Į
