Remembrance Events We have been really interested in finding out about events that happened in the past. We enjoyed listening to a visitor in assembly who talked to us about the origins of the poppy. We transformed our school hall into a gallery and invited our grown-ups from home in to see our amazing poppy art. We also laid a wreath on behalf of our school at the Gosport War Memorial Remembrance service on Sunday 11th November. Lest We Forget.

Year 2 have been learning about lifecycles. To understand this they have been looking after caterpillars as they go into the outside world. The children have fed them with leaves until the caterpillars form a pupa where it changes into a butterfly.😊 Once fit for flight the children released the butterflies into the wild and looked on with wonder as they flew away!

In the holidays the school had a traversing wall installed. As well as providing plenty of fun these walls help children develop motor skills, balance and strength.

We were delighted to receive a Good inspection from Ofsted and that they recognised the uniqueness of our community.

Year 1 had great fun at Hillier Gardens Bushcraft classes during the week.
The children enjoyed making their own mini fires and were able to toast and eat marshmallows. Yum !
We explored the beautiful gardens and pond area and could even see the fish in the water. The children also went pond dipping to see what was living under the water and found newts, leeches, pond skaters and much more.
... The children worked as Teamwork Tia to make dens for their animals using natural materials they could find.

The Pro-kick schools challenge is always very popular and by coincidence it was also on the day that the England football team played. Our children were all inspired and they had the opportunity to take turns to kick a football into a giant goal enabling the speed of the kick to be measured. Every child was cheered on by their class friends showing real superhero ‘Teamwork Tia’ spirit.

ALL AT SEA !!!
Year 2 had fun travelling back in time to 1912 so that they could discover and experience how people lived and dressed onboard the Titanic.

FOREST SCHOOL FRENZY !!!
Mini beast investigations were well under way when Year 1 played detectives in the forest today as part of their 'Looking for signs of spring' topic.

What an exciting two days we have had at school to celebrate the Royal wedding!
On Thursday we had a Royal Banquet and Friday was a red, white and blue themed day with all of the children dressed in these colours. In the afternoon we had a whole school parade which included an appearance from our very own royal brides and grooms and ended with the children singing the national anthem.
