What an amazing night queen of the night was absolutely fantastic loved the venue we travelled for Houghton le Spring Sunderland well worth the trip

User

We go to this pantomime every year and every year we are never disappointed. The pantomime is hilarious and outstandingly preformed. We laugh so much at the clever script and the actors/ actresses who play the roles. This year I must say there was a certain lady missing who is an incredible actress and should be back on the stage where she belongs.

User

Visited panto tonight with family 9 of us in total. Brilliant, funny, very family orientated. Throwing the big balls in to audience for kids to hit around was great. Kids loved it. Very professionally done. Will def be back next year...worth every penny. Well done!!

User

Pleased to give a positive of this neat provincial theatre, not resident in Consett we popped in for a coffee break, it's a pleasant little venue, very warm, friendly staff and pretty cheap, yes we will call in again.

User

Performance was excellent , really funny , well worth seeing

User

Lovely theatre try to get to most of the shows but definitely wouldn't miss the pantomimes the local one is next and it's every bit as good as the professional

User

It was my first visit to the Empire Theatre its a lovely little theatre went to see Bay City Rollers who were fantastic but I'm disabled and as soon as they started singing the first song everyone stood up and as i couldn't I didn't see any of it. I think there should be different seats for the disabled do we can still see the show i did expect people to stand but not for the whole show.

User

I went to watch Some Guys Have All The Luck last night, absoloutly fabulous story of Rods life and music was excellent would watch this again, and great atmosphere in theatre

How did I not know this place existed before? It's a fabulous theatre. Much bigger than I was expecting and the staff are so friendly. We had a wheelchair space which means you get a platform space rather than a removed chair slot. The only downside of that is that whilst you will get space to manover the chair you don't actually get seats next to the person you were with so can throw popcorn at the back of their heads instead.

The ticket staff and bar staff were lovely, really friendly and helpful and I will definatly be coming to more shows here x

User

Didn't even know this place existed but by what a cracking time we had, lovley and clean, plenty of clean loo's, bar area great and didn't rip your eyes out for a coke, helpful friendly staff, great seats and stage definitely would go again!

User

Been to see Pricilla Queen of the Desert.

Had a brilliant night..Fabulous performances from the cast. Thankyou..

User

Amazing! Visit this pantomime group every year with the fam and they never leave you disappointed, include the audience and suitable for all ages... always include something new, such a good laugh and talented group of people

User

A real little treasure in our town. A huge variety of plays, musicals, films and a myriad other things. A great place to meet for coffee too!

User

The Empire is always a great place to see some top class shows from The Bay City Rollers to Showaddywaddy you always have a great welcome

User

Lovely cinema, went to see pirates of the Caribbean and really enjoyed it. Picture quality and sound were great. Only complaints were seating was a little bit of a squash for people with long legs, and no fresh popcorn (comes in pre-sealed tubs). Apart from that lovely night and definitely worth the money

User

Seats could be more comfortable but the main problem is the noise level for movies...way too high!!

User

Booked tickets last week for Mamma Mia but unable to book specific seats, despite being able to for the Tuesday showings. Arrived last night to find the theatre packed with a queue right out the door of people buying tickets on the night. Another group had to go ask for the upstairs to be opened up as there simply wasn't anywhere for people to sit.Our group of 6 ended up split up and people were still coming in 20 minutes into the movie looking for odd seats dotted around the theatre.
