IT'S THE ALE RECORD COMBO AGAIN!! Plenty of delicious boxes of ear joy for you to keep yer fingers happy and loads of fantastic ales to quench yer thirst in this glorious weather. Papa C will be here with his wondrous boxes of wax tempting you to spend every last penny. Fortunately we have Abyss The Holy Pale on draught as our monthly special beer at £4.20 a pint so you can keep supping to your hearts content.

User

Come to The Evening Star and experience the Abyss Brewing glasses/holy pale combo. You too can be happy as the proverbial Larry or in this case Harvey swigging on this hoppy and refreshing pale ale, blinkered to the rest of the world with a big bloody grin on yer face. All you need is beer and we will be showcasing this session keg ale all month for the loverly price of £4.20 a pint in celebration of Brighton & Hove Beer Week and our wonderful Sussex breweries. Every month we will be pouring a different kegged Sussex ale and giving it away at a silly price so in contradiction to this post keep yer eyes peeled ahem...............

Coming on later tonight, perfect refreshment for the muggy weather Brouwerij Boon gueuze selection. A blend of 1,2 and 3 year old lambics specially selected to compliment the kegging process. Lower carbonation and only £9.30 a pint!!

User

Delivered today from our loverly friends at Vibrant Forest Brewery this very limited collaboration with DEYA Brewing Company . Keep a look out for when this belter goes on the bar! Stout with raspberries and sea salt, you know how we love a stout and we know you do too!!

User

So Warpigs Frank the Tank is on the bar, gather like witches at black masses to sample this hazy, juicy APA. Like being smashed in the face with a can of Lilt and then savouring a long dry, bitter finish.

User

Turn your back on the World Cup, come enjoy some amazing beer and great conversation and no tv at The Evening Star.

User

You never know what's going to pop up at The Star and so this Sunday we have another record pop up popping up. Have a flick through Tom's stacks of second hand treasures and sup on a pint while you're doing it, perfect Sunday afternoon pastime methinks!

User

Don’t be sorry that your friend likes lager, we like lager too! We have Augustina hells, fruh kolsch, and other German styles in bottle including weissbier and smoked marzen. We also have two lager styles by Lost and Grounded, Running with Sceptres and Keller Pils. Both combining hoppy flavours with lager malts, the Keller being more of a session and Sceptres stronger and with more hops. Don’t forget we also have Hacker-Pschorr on draft!

User

Currently on the bar: Omnipollo Nebuchadnezzar, one of the best Imperial IPAs out there, a must try! Wiper and True Kaleidoscope, a great session pale that has stood the test of time. BOB DRAKE: Born in Ohio but now resident in the South of France, Bob was a founding member of avant-rock heroes Thinking Plague and has been a member of the 5uu's, Hail and The Science Group but it with his series of 9 solo recordings between 1994 and last-year's much lauded Arx Pilosa that he has really found his voice as a peddlar of avant-garde, individual but always highly melodic tales of bears, skulls, meerkats, griffins and more. Bob is currently working on his 10th so...lo record 'L'isola dei lupi' which he hopes will see the light of day sometime in the Autumn https://bobdrake.bandcamp.com/music https://bdstudio.bandcamp.com/
KEMPER NORTON: Kemper Norton uses digital and analogue hardware and software, acoustic instruments , field recordings and traditional song to explore neglected or original areas of landscape and folklore. Of his 2017 release ‘Hungan’ The Wire wrote: "A flood of elemental, sensuous sound with limitless powers of time travel... A masterpiece of English music for the ages and for right now" https://kempernorton.bandcamp.com/
An evening of joyous sounds for zero pennies although we will be passing the hat for donations.

what a fantastic little pub, very friendly pub and lots of ales for my hubby to try.Even given tasters and snifters of what was on offer. We arrived in brighton and headed there and then also the way back to catch our train,i have now been converted to a whiskey drinker after smelling the nikka whiskey, will definitely make this our local when we visit brighton .

User

Went in afternoon during quiet time. Lovely pub, friendly and cosy atmosphere. Both staff and regulars extremely pleasant people. A must visit if you are in the area.

User

The original home of the Dark Star brewery, the pub is welcoming and has a fantastic selection of beers (not just Dark Star although they were aplenty). Great pub.

User

Paid my first visit, with friends, on Saturday night. Great Pub with a fine selection of Cask Ale. The Essex born Barmaid was very friendly as were the customers I spoke to. Good choice of Music played by the Lady DJ. Enjoyed it so much that I stayed there late, even though my friends had gone back to the Guesthouse. Hopefully I will make a return visit in the future.

User

One of the best real ale pubs in the area. Spit and sawdust, no fruit machines or other distractions, just good beer and banter. In the words of Arnie, I'll be back.

User

Nice people and loads of lovely beer, what's not to like? Often drop in if I'm up this end of town...

User

My go to pub in Brighton. So convenient from the station and always great ale.

User

My first ever visit to this pub and i will be returning in the future.the choice of ale is fantastic and the two lads behind the bar couldnt be more helpful offering me a sample of each beer i drank. Before i bought. Also a nice refreshing change not to see fizzy piss such as fosters and carlsburg.

User

Just a must visit for any real bear lover. Has a great selection of other tipples too. Bar staff staff are also great!

User

Gorgeous boozer. Basic to some perhaps, but sticks to doing the things a pub should do and it does them well. Great ale, great atmosphere, great community.

User

Good pint, good people, good location - sorted

User

Fantastic range of craft beer, super pub, with friendly staff :-)

User

Drinkers pub with, probably, the best kept ale in Brighton.

User

Been here a few times with the boys and never disappoints

User

As usual the beer on offer was varied and well kept, it was rammed inside due to there being a football match on. It was Leeds.v.Brighton I think.

A visiting supporter asked for a pint of "John Smiths" I can only suppose he needed to rinse his cloggs off or flush the urinals, however thankfully JS is not on sale at the ES as explained patiently by the landlady who knows about these things

A great proper pub.

User

A proper pub with good beer and great ambiance and just a very short walk from Brighton station. Great place to meet up.

User

A must visit on any Brighton Trip, a large selection of real ales/ciders for the conissor palette 😋🍺

User

Friendly pub with wonderful beer and helpful knowledgeable bar staff

User

Fantastic pub with great choice.

Guest ales very expensive so save your pennies and stick to the Dark Star Ales.

Will be interesting to see what pops up next on tap!
