Different Planet Arts supported by The Chalk Cliff Trust, Sussex Community Foundation and Awards for All are offering the latest inclusive play skills training workshops.
The courses are available to parents, carers of children and young people with complex additional needs.
They are hands-on courses which will explore why we play, the benefits of play for your child, new techniques and play structures. The course will include reflection and discussion and is open to all par...ents and carers of children with moderate and complex additional needs. We will explore sensory play, music, multisensory storytelling, and movement and have fun!
Due to the generous backing of funders, they are able to offer places on this course for a special price of £25!

Hurray! We’re in and it already feels like home. We are thrilled to join our Grub Club and Youth Club and excited about plans for the holiday schemes here, at the Portslade Village Centre, this summer.

We had such a lovely evening last night at Youth Club. Group games outside, making veggie bolognese and creating some bunting for our newly decorated building!

If you shop at Tesco at the Holmbush Centre in Shoreham during May and June please collect your blue tokens and vote for Extratime. Your support will help deliver the Holiday Scheme at Hawkins Crescent this summer for 25 children. Please be sure to spread the word to your friends and family!

We had lots of fun yesterday at A2Y making spring mini quiches. The young people added some lovely ingredients such and peppers, courgette, spring onions, chives, spinach and feta!
The young people also really enjoyed a group game of football outside in the sunshine, and had a Wii tournament!

Extratime is moving to the Portslade Village Centre as of Friday 26th April 2019!
Just to be clear this move will not affect any of our Extratime clubs or schemes, the only difference will be a change in our main office location address.
... Please note we anticipate the main office team being unavailable tomorrow (Friday), however we will be back to normal from Monday 29th April.

We had a fantastic time at Youth Club yesterday - Albion in the Community were, the young people made their own snacks, and we started work on an art project for our new Extratime centre.

They are offering FREE weight management programmes designed for children aged 5-15 who are above their ideal weight to attend with families to learn about healthy lifestyles. Programmes run for 14 weeks, 2 hours each week with an hour of nutrition and an hour of physical activity. BeeZee Bodies are all about getting healthy in realistic and fun ways, this isn’t bootcamp – no weekly weigh-ins or strict diet plans here!
Our new programme...s start this week:
23rd April - Tuesdays 5-7pm at St John the Baptist Catholic School, Whitehawk Hill Road, BN2 0AH 24th April – Wednesdays 5-7pm at Aldrington C.E Primary School, Eridge Road, Hove BN3 7QD 25th April – Thursdays 5-7pm at Balfour Primary School, Balfour Rd, Brighton BN1 6NE
Sessions include: • Initial one to one appointments to discuss the needs of the family and child • Energy Balance • Portion Sizes • Supermarkets and Reading Labels • Cooking classes • Parents only sessions to cover some of the trickier issues around food and exercise at home • Snacks • Drinks • Takeaways & Eating on the Go • Healthy Habits & Routines (Bedtime, Screen time etc) • Midway one to ones to see how you’re getting on and what else you would like to learn about as a healthy family. • An offsite adventure to try a new fun activity (eg climbing, trampoline park, canoeing, paddleboarding.. all previous BeeZee trips!) • Final reviews to send you confidently into your healthy future! • Graduation ceremony to celebrate your achievements.
Activities include: • Badminton • Football • Tennis • Boxing • Zumba • Basketball • Street Dance • Family games • Swimming trip • Wilderness games

It was Jenny Kay's last day in the office yesterday!
