Fab Friends Of All Saints Biddenden

FAB's evening with Gregg Wallace made a profit of around £3000. Thank you to Gregg and to the village for supporting the church fabric. With these funds and some of our reserves, we have been able to help pay for repairs to the roofs of both church and lychgate, repairs to the masonry and to the mower that is used for the churchyard, and much more. And we had a fun evening!

Gregg Wallace was by turns funny and poignant as he entertained us at FAB on Saturday. He talked candidly about his beginnings, his rise to fame and the perils of being a recognised face. My favourite joke: he never meets any fans, because people who ask him for selfies always say they are doing so on behalf of a friend who is a fan rather than for themselves... A life like his is a rich source of stories and anecdotes and Gregg was unsparing of himself as the butt of his own humour. He has certainly charmed his "new neighbours", as he called us, and I hope we welcomed him to the village in suitable style. All aboard for the Gregg Wallace event this Saturday at All Saints Biddenden, 7pm for 7.30. Tickets are still available at Turners Stores or on the door. Come and drink a glass of Biddenden Vineyards wine and enjoy nibbles made by Chadough. Raffle, mingling, selfies with the big man, could you want more from a night out?

Less than 2 weeks to go to the Gregg Wallace event at All Saints Biddenden, tickets are still on sale! There will be a raffle (more prizes are welcome) and drinks, including wine from the ever-supportive Biddenden Vineyards. There will also be small snacks made by Biddenden's newest baker, Chadough. Should be a good night.

Remembrance-tide begins at All Saints. With ghost.

Thank you to Dame Jane Whiteley and to all those who participated in her concert and who gave so generously. We have raised just over £5000 which will help with the church's upkeep including the lychgate project. We have more exciting events up our sleeves, do watch this space.

Dame Jane Whiteley regaled us with Mozart, Chopin and more on a wonderful evening last Saturday, attended by an audience of more than 100. With wine and home-made nibbles the evening was complete! We are still counting up the generosity of those who came to support FAB. But none was more generous than lovely Dame Jane who shared her fabulous musical gifts with us.

Just over a week to go to Dame Jane Whiteley's piano recital: Mozart, Schuman, Schubert and Chopin. Come enjoy some music and a glass of wine! Saturday 29th September at 7pm.
