Award winning organic woodland garden in the heart of the Norfolk Broads, with it's own private broad.
Unfortunately the garden is temporarily closed, but our groceries store and plant sales is open daily 10am to 1pm.

Fairhaven Woodland And Water Garden Description

Award winning organic garden open to the public all year round, (closed Christmas Day). Set in 130 acres of ancient woodland with its own exclusive Norfolk broad. We have beautiful woodland walks and paths crossing waterways. We have the UK's finest collection of candelabra primulas. If lucky you may catch a glimpse of otters on the broad along with all the other amazing wildlife that calls the broad home. Boat trips run April through to October. It truly is a garden for all seasons. We also have a Cafe, Shop and Plant Centre. Not forgetting our busy events programme which has something for everyone.

One of our oak trees was struck by lightning yesterday. It appears not to have damaged the tree other than strip a groove of bark all the way down the trunk!

A few photos of some of the lovely food that is going out of our kitchen today. Paul our chef is hard at work and has been here since early o'clock. Pictured are the Papworth Butchers sausages on creamy mash with Hall Farm runner beans and onion gravy. Also, Fairhaven quiche of leek and Binham Blue cheese with summer leaves and minted new potatoes. Yum!

walking in to the friendly lady on the till giving a warm welcome was a great start to what proved to be a great hidden gem of a garden, woodland and water garden was great to find 2 bird hides as well as seeing some birds on the broads from lots of open areas, great little gift shop we didn't try the cafe as it was nearly closing time certainly worth a visit

User

Wonderful to escape to this tranquil place for pretty wooded walks, plentiful birdlife, and gorgeous trees and flowers, walked for ages took some great photos and saw 4 birds we've never seen before, didn't use cafe but looked good and homely and not overly pricey..will definately return another season

Went there with my mum, her partner and my 3year old nephew. It was full off woodlands walks and lovely things to look at. My nephew enjoyed looking for things. We throughly enjoyed the boat trip. The staff was lovely especially the one lady that looked after my nephew after he had a nasty fall on one off the steps leading up towards the gift shop. We would def go back. Xx

User

We had the most wonderful time today. Oscar's nature trail and questions for the boys just added to the excitement of exploring. The boat trip was also marvellous. This was nicely finished off with a home made chocolate eclair and a cup of tea and delicious ice cream. I would highly recommend a visit.

User

We had an amazing afternoon. Out of season and so much to see. My 4 and 2 year old really enjoyed running around and spotting all the signs of spring. We will be back later on in the season.

User

User

This is a beautiful place that we visit several times throughout the changing seasons of the year. After a sometimes invigorating walk what better place to relax with a drink and snack but in the on-site cafe which serves a nice variety of food. Our young grand children enjoy the board walks and also the boat trips.

User

Super day walking in the woods out of the hot sun and a wonderful boat trip. The Cafe was above average and good value.well worth a visit

User

Loved this place ! Will be back lots of times !!

User

It’s a fantastic place to walk dogs and take in the views. You can have boat rides in the warmer weather and enjoy the delicious food and drink in the restaurant all year round. Highly recommended

User

I just wanted to thank you a fantastic day out We experienced. We loved that it was accessible for all age ranges and abilities, you catertered for all and even served vegan cake in your excellent tea room, your prices were affordable for a young family and the gardens and boat ride were superb. I’ll spread the word about this fantastic little gem. Keep up the good work ❤️❤️

User

Great place- need to spend more time there as we were unable to view it all. Boat trip informative, saw lots of birds.

User

Fantastic afternoon spent in beautiful surroundings.. tranquil & with our dogs who loved it and was very well catered for with watering stations & dog bins.. The only thing that miffed us - it was £14+ for 2 adults & 2 dogs to get in.. and we weren't told anything at till about the boat trip only to keep entrance tickets, so assumed it was for boat trip.. After an hour of wandering around we came to boat lake to find it was £3.85 per adult & 50p each for dogs.. We didn't have enough change on us so missed out..

So had a coffee instead at tearoom gardens which was lovely..

Would recommend place but make sure people know there's a boat charge in advance at tills..

User

After visiting twice in the space of a week to capture two lots of bride and grooms to be for their pre wedding photoshoots, I am even more in love with the place! Such a beautiful setting and got some wonderful photos for the couples that they will treasure forever.

Staff are so very helpful and friendly

This is a lovely place to visit any time of the year. There are some beautiful walks and a vast array of plants throughout the seasons. The restaurant is also very pleasant with excellent food and drink. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was that you could not use their wifi so I had to wait until I got back to post this.

User

Nice place with good walks. However the reception lady was quite rude. No smile, no chat nothing. Didn’t tell us that we needed to buy a ticket for the boat trip when we purchased entrance tickets, therefore we missed the trip. We were not the only ones. Cafe staff were also a bit sour faced. Shame as it spoilt our afternoon.

User

Lovely day walking around the woods and going down to the broad and dog friendly so that was a bonus. Hubby got bitten to death though so I would advise plenty of insect repellent. Only one thing, they should let you pay for the boat trips down at the staithe we were undecided when paying at the entrance(where you pay for the boat as well), but decided we would like to go on when we got there but it was too far to walk back to the entrance to get tickets so they missed out on another £10 or so. Otherwise a great place to go and the little tea room was lovely too.
