Having won breakfast for two on this FB site we arrived today to an empty pub but it soon filled up...breakfast was lovely and staff very attentive. Well worth a visit for breakfast. Thank you

Had a fantastic evening, the food was absolutely delicious, portion sizes were just perfect. The service was also very good too. This is my second visit and I cannot find anything bad to say about the whole experience.

Very nice food visited on Thursday lunchtime, food cooked lovely and hot when served, would just suggest they have more than one person on the bar but staff friendly and welcoming.

Only serve sugar free drinks on tap which was disappointing and it took nearly a hour for my meal to get to us and it wasn’t busy also one of the meals was wrong don’t get me wrong the food was nice but it’s the little things that disappoint

Mushrooms on my partners plate when he had requested none, no sauce for his steak which he paid extra for and no additional order of onion rings, which the Manager tried to say hadn't been ordered! which they had with the barmaid who had no clue which glass to serve drinks in!.... So the steak went back and the mushrooms removed then came back still with no sauce!! So back it went again!! My partner had also asked for a fried egg with the steak which they served on a separate plate ???!!!! The Manager then tried to blame all the issues on the fact they had a table of 24 in, well excuse me but that isn't my problem as a paying customer. And the place wasn't busy anyway! So surely they can cope. The place has gone down hill very fast and the staff behind the bar need training on serving drinks and taking food orders, and as for the Manager she needs Customer Service training and learn not to blame a table of 24 for all the cock ups and take full responsibility for the shambles she runs!! Could be a nice place if the staff actually knew what they were doing and had a decent Management team !!!

They got every part of the order wrong in some way - missed a meal off, asked for sauce on 3 desserts and not in 1 - other way round etc etc. I had to ask for ice and lemon in our drinks, Tables not cleared (I cleared our plates to the next table to make room for puddings), one person serving at the bar and also training someone (not her fault) but Surely there was another member of staff to service as well? Shame as it was good when it first opened. Really gone downhill I think.

Purchased carvery yesterday 17th July. Wish i had looked first. Beef like a piece of leather. Vegetable all dried out. Cauliflower cheese just cauliflower. �. Food was luke warm. Complained to waitress and offered meat to take home or a dessert. �

Sad to say, the place has definitely gone downhill. I have always loved and recommended it- but the last 2 visits have been very disappointing for us. On our penultimate visit I went trough the emotional rollercoaster of discovering they FINALLY had a vegan main on the menu... only to be told after I ordered the Soya burger that it was in fact not available. Had to get my money back and choose some sides instead. On our last visit the service was very slow. Those who ordered carvery and paid extra for pigs in blankets had finished their entire meals before the pigs in blankets were served (we had to ask where they were). Myself and my mother in law waited 45 minutes for a plate of chips and a salad. She also ordered a flat stuffed mushroom (as advertised on the menu) and after a long wait was given breaded mushroom which was all mashed up in a bowl. We did get a refund and staff were apologetic.



Pros: some sides are vegan. Partner likes the carvery. Desserts are lovely.



Cons: slow service, nonchalant staff, long waits for simple dishes, not all food on menu always available, not enough mains for vegans, some food not as advertised.



I know the staff were busy on Sunday and we were told in advance that there would be a half hour wait, but I find it strange that so many reviews have the same complaint about slow service. I believe the solution is to hire more staff, surely? And ensure that you have ample and correct stock so that you can stay true to your menu.

There was a crowd of people waiting to be seated which made it difficult to get around. Noticed people coming in and leaving as it was so crowded. We had to share a table with other people as there wasn't just a place to seat and have a drink. It seemed that you have to eat to get a table �� This was my first and last visit ��

very upset about the way i was treated. i booked a table for 7 with child so they could play. when i arrived i was put the furthers point from play area then and was told nothing was put about that then changed table with people that were also booked on same table. was put on a bench table with torn cover which caught on my dress and pulled it, when i said something to the man he answer was so. came to do order for food same man was serving, served any 1 but me even the people that walked in the door. then went to get carvery only he cut lamb joint in half and gave a small slice when i said about it he said it was cos i order small the potatoes were bigger. there was no gravy no mint sauce asked the same man who said again so. also the fire door was LOCKED cant believed how down hill this has gone

Couple next to us had been there for 2 hours before not eating their totally inedible meal. Our main courses were bought out 5 mins apart and as one of them was an obviously microwaved dish that is totally unacceptable. We will not be doing this again.

Unbelievably rude manager! We ordered pigs in blankets which clearly shows on the menu as 6 and only 3 were brought out and when queried this and the response is utter rudeness!! Asked for an itemised receipt which we were told could not be given.



Wish we got a tab as I would of walked out and not bothered with food or drinks as he was so damn rude!!

Me and my other half and 2 children visited today, we ordered from the main menu and all I can say is ‘disgraceful’ what was supposed to be a steak burger looked like a pile of soggy value mince meat, children’s meals were dry and over cooked and the vegetable lasagne was like one piece of soggy rubber � took nearly an hour to arrive aswell! I couldn’t eat the lasagne so took it back and had a carvery instead which I will add was quite nice. The service was terrible! Not one staff member asked how our food was (probably too ashamed to!) and then waited 30 mins for 2 children’s ice creams to come out. The table next to us were also complaining about the poor quality food and the long wait for food! No cutlery anywhere either! As we were leaving several tables were also complaining and when we got outside a man who had just left was throwing up in the car park!! I’ve had mixed reviews about this place but I will never ever be returning!!

( yes someone actually asked for it im actually gobsmacked) the yorkshire puddings are so hard you Would break a tooth. The peas and sweetcorn are under cooked and gross. Carrots destroyed and over cooked. I won't even attempt to discuss what im assuming was suppose to be cauliflower cheese!!! The gammon was moist (only good thing i can say about the food) the fact people pay for this food makes me think im in the wrong business. I could make a fortune cooking meals for people. As my food in comparison is amazing! Bar statf are lovely. Other staff seem miserable. Seriously save ur money, and your stomachs and.avoid

Cold roast potatoes as for the rest of the meal not far behind so disappointed 1st time to eat there was in November it was first class had a member of staff bothered to ask if the meal was ok would have been nice very short on staff lucky the pub was not busy

Me and my other half and 2 children visited today, we ordered from the main menu and all I can say is ‘disgraceful’ what was supposed to be a steak burger looked like a pile of soggy value mince meat, children’s meals were dry and over cooked and the vegetable lasagne was like one piece of soggy rubber � took nearly an hour to arrive aswell! I couldn’t eat the lasagne so took it back and had a carvery instead which I will add was quite nice. The service was terrible! Not one staff member asked how our food was (probably too ashamed to!) and then waited 30 mins for 2 children’s ice creams to come out. The table next to us were also complaining about the poor quality food and the long wait for food! No cutlery anywhere either! As we were leaving several tables were also complaining and when we got outside a man who had just left was throwing up in the car park!! I’ve had mixed reviews about this place but I will never ever be returning!!

I’m actually sat in five bridges with no food as I sent it back due to watery gravy and dry cauliflower cheese to be fair I think it was just cauliflower no sorry from the manager!!! Menus change so frequently and not for the better I’ve eaten in here on quite a number of occasions but every time I come here the food quality and service is getting poorer and poorer I can 100% say this is my last visit.

I honestly can't believe they get away with serving the food that they do. Roast dinner buffet...... The beef is literally a block of charred crust, the guy can't even slice it!! ( yes someone actually asked for it im actually gobsmacked) the yorkshire puddings are so hard you Would break a tooth. The peas and sweetcorn are under cooked and gross. Carrots destroyed and over cooked. I won't even attempt to discuss what im assuming was suppose to be cauliflower cheese!!! The gammon was moist (only good thing i can say about the food) the fact people pay for this food makes me think im in the wrong business. I could make a fortune cooking meals for people. As my food in comparison is amazing! Bar statf are lovely. Other staff seem miserable. Seriously save ur money, and your stomachs and.avoid

Cold roast potatoes as for the rest of the meal not far behind so disappointed 1st time to eat there was in November it was first class had a member of staff bothered to ask if the meal was ok would have been nice very short on staff lucky the pub was not busy

Having won breakfast for two on this FB site we arrived today to an empty pub but it soon filled up...breakfast was lovely and staff very attentive. Well worth a visit for breakfast. Thank you

Had a fantastic evening, the food was absolutely delicious, portion sizes were just perfect. The service was also very good too. This is my second visit and I cannot find anything bad to say about the whole experience.

Very nice food visited on Thursday lunchtime, food cooked lovely and hot when served, would just suggest they have more than one person on the bar but staff friendly and welcoming.

Only serve sugar free drinks on tap which was disappointing and it took nearly a hour for my meal to get to us and it wasn’t busy also one of the meals was wrong don’t get me wrong the food was nice but it’s the little things that disappoint

Food is very nice but the service was slow. Over 30 minutes for our starter and we had to chase it, similarly with the main course. I also ordered a side of mushrooms and they arrived a good 10 minutes after my main was served. A shame as we have had good service here before.

Although staff were very attentive to our group of 5, my wife who is a veggie was served the meat alternative to the dish she ordered, they have her a fresh meal but it was missing 2 of the items listed! Potatoes were soggy, Yorkshire pudding was like rubber, broccoli was mush.

We went to this place last night (Friday), and it wasn't our first time but was our last!! Firstly my partner ordered me a G&T and the girl behind the bar asked him was it in the right glass?! No it wasn't, surely some form of bar training takes place?? Then we waited 45 minutes for our dinner, which came out wrong. Mushrooms on my partners plate when he had requested none, no sauce for his steak which he paid extra for and no additional order of onion rings, which the Manager tried to say hadn't been ordered! which they had with the barmaid who had no clue which glass to serve drinks in!.... So the steak went back and the mushrooms removed then came back still with no sauce!! So back it went again!! My partner had also asked for a fried egg with the steak which they served on a separate plate ???!!!! The Manager then tried to blame all the issues on the fact they had a table of 24 in, well excuse me but that isn't my problem as a paying customer. And the place wasn't busy anyway! So surely they can cope. The place has gone down hill very fast and the staff behind the bar need training on serving drinks and taking food orders, and as for the Manager she needs Customer Service training and learn not to blame a table of 24 for all the cock ups and take full responsibility for the shambles she runs!! Could be a nice place if the staff actually knew what they were doing and had a decent Management team !!!

They got every part of the order wrong in some way - missed a meal off, asked for sauce on 3 desserts and not in 1 - other way round etc etc. I had to ask for ice and lemon in our drinks, Tables not cleared (I cleared our plates to the next table to make room for puddings), one person serving at the bar and also training someone (not her fault) but Surely there was another member of staff to service as well? Shame as it was good when it first opened. Really gone downhill I think.

Purchased carvery yesterday 17th July. Wish i had looked first. Beef like a piece of leather. Vegetable all dried out. Cauliflower cheese just cauliflower. �. Food was luke warm. Complained to waitress and offered meat to take home or a dessert. �

I had originally given this place a 5 � when it opened... I had to delete that review so that I could create a new one.

Sad to say, the place has definitely gone downhill. I have always loved and recommended it- but the last 2 visits have been very disappointing for us. On our penultimate visit I went trough the emotional rollercoaster of discovering they FINALLY had a vegan main on the menu... only to be told after I ordered the Soya burger that it was in fact not available. Had to get my money back and choose some sides instead. On our last visit the service was very slow. Those who ordered carvery and paid extra for pigs in blankets had finished their entire meals before the pigs in blankets were served (we had to ask where they were). Myself and my mother in law waited 45 minutes for a plate of chips and a salad. She also ordered a flat stuffed mushroom (as advertised on the menu) and after a long wait was given breaded mushroom which was all mashed up in a bowl. We did get a refund and staff were apologetic.



Pros: some sides are vegan. Partner likes the carvery. Desserts are lovely.



Cons: slow service, nonchalant staff, long waits for simple dishes, not all food on menu always available, not enough mains for vegans, some food not as advertised.



I know the staff were busy on Sunday and we were told in advance that there would be a half hour wait, but I find it strange that so many reviews have the same complaint about slow service. I believe the solution is to hire more staff, surely? And ensure that you have ample and correct stock so that you can stay true to your menu.

Although we only popped for a quick drink the place was really busy and there were only 2 staff behind the bar and we had to wait and wait to be served. There was a crowd of people waiting to be seated which made it difficult to get around. Noticed people coming in and leaving as it was so crowded. We had to share a table with other people as there wasn't just a place to seat and have a drink. It seemed that you have to eat to get a table �� This was my first and last visit ��

very upset about the way i was treated. i booked a table for 7 with child so they could play. when i arrived i was put the furthers point from play area then and was told nothing was put about that then changed table with people that were also booked on same table. was put on a bench table with torn cover which caught on my dress and pulled it, when i said something to the man he answer was so. came to do order for food same man was serving, served any 1 but me even the people that walked in the door. then went to get carvery only he cut lamb joint in half and gave a small slice when i said about it he said it was cos i order small the potatoes were bigger. there was no gravy no mint sauce asked the same man who said again so. also the fire door was LOCKED cant believed how down hill this has gone

Well I cannot believe the sloppy service that we have had. A total joke about time it took to get our meals. Couple next to us had been there for 2 hours before not eating their totally inedible meal. Our main courses were bought out 5 mins apart and as one of them was an obviously microwaved dish that is totally unacceptable. We will not be doing this again.

Unbelievably rude manager! We ordered pigs in blankets which clearly shows on the menu as 6 and only 3 were brought out and when queried this and the response is utter rudeness!! Asked for an itemised receipt which we were told could not be given.



Wish we got a tab as I would of walked out and not bothered with food or drinks as he was so damn rude!!

Thought your place was s***. I ordered rump steak rare with add scampi and a gammon steak with extra garlic bread. Seeing as you where not very busy I did think we would have to wait 30 minutes for our food. Then when it did arrive the chips on the gammon were cold and the scampi on the steak was also cold. I will never be coming to your restaurant again. I think the drinks are over priced as well £2.95 for a can of orangeade. You only got a 1 * cause they was no 0* opposition.
